I have a very small and low profile head. It is so nice to finally have a cap that fits and doesn’t bunch up in the back!

The marketing is amazing and drew me in but once I received my caps I was horrified by the quality and the smell. They smelled like they came from a cereal box and the material is flimsy, the dye coloring spotty and the fit is random. It says it has sizes for small and normal heads but each of the four caps I purchased had a different feel and fit to their size small. Not one fit the same and they were all the same size. In addition there were plastic threads sticking out of the band which poked my head. Absolutely the most poorly made cheap cap ever. Now the best part. I go to their website and in order to make a return I need to email them first and on top of that they require a 10% restocking fee and no return shipping. So I would need to purchase the shipping label as well. This is obviously a company that does not stand behind their products. Do Not purchase from Lift Down. Their caps are some of the worst products available and they are out to just make money. So even though I am out of pocket the extra 10% and the shipping label I returned them anyway because they were just that bad and a little money back is better than none at all. Don't waste your money!

They are just OK. Wouldn't buy another. The small size fits but the brim is not long enough. Looks like a kid's hat. Not for me.

Lift Down makes great classic ball caps in a variety of sized and colors. The caps are high quality and I really appreciate that the Classic Cap comes in a small size! The order process is easy and delivery was quick. Highly recommend, especially for smaller heads!

My husband and I love the these hats! He is difficult to fit needing a large. I took a chance ordering without trying on and these hats fit great! Also, the customer service is outstanding. Finally a hat that fits my 6 7/8 pin head that is not a childs nor a fitted cap with a high crown that comes down to my ears.
I ordered 3 and will order more!

The hats are well made and a perfect adjustable fit. An item was damaged in shipping and they sent a replacement the same day.

My second order (because I loved the first one so much) got lost in mail somewhere. As soon as I contacted the company, they immediately took action, apologized and resent the package again. I really appreciated this. The hat is well made and it was really tested on long hikes and in different weather conditions. I love no logo design and natural, breathable fabric.

The company reached out to me after writing this review and offered to send me a free replacement hat, which I appreciate. As I mentioned below, I did like the Navy hat I received, so given they agreed to rectify my complaint, I swapped the Bluestone Green hate for one in Amber Orange, and also bought one in Honeycomb and Ocean Blue as well.

Now that they've arrived and I have a few, i'll give my updated two cents.

Overall verdict: I think the product photographer should get a raise for lighting and contrast. The hat colors don't seem deliberately misleading, but they're not quite as deep/vibrant as the product photos. I'll keep the ones I have now and wear them, but I still want to give an honest updated on color accuracy for each color:

1) Navy: as advertised, definitely the most true to photos. I like it!

2) Bluestone green: It's grey, with maybe a hint of green in it in the right, bright light. Would not say it's true to photos. The fit and material are nice, though.

3) Amber Orange: I will definitely wear it, but the orange color isn't quite as vibrant/deep as the colors in the photos. The photos aren't "wrong," but the product lighting is pulling its weight. In real life, it's a lighter and a bit more muted orange color. I'll still wear it though.

4) Ocean blue: Similar enough to the photos, but also less vibrant than the product photos. Will still wear it, think it'll be nicer once it worn in and faded a little.

5) Honeycomb: bit lighter color, less vibrant in person than the product photos.

BTW, I have three monitors and an iphone and I would say these assessments apply to all.

Hat color not as advertised

Bluestone “Green” hat was not as advertised. It’s just a grey, not green like shown. I contacted customer service within the return date and they initially agreed to the return, though I would have a pay a shipping fee, but I had a family medical emergency (dad had a stroke) and went a week or so beyond the one month return policy and they would no longer accept my return.

So I admit I ultimately missed the return date, but I had contracted them within the allowable period. And even so, the product was not as advertised and I would have expected to get my money back simply based on that. If I were returning based on just a change of mind, I wouldn’t mind at all. That said, the navy version I got was what I expected and I like it.

So buy with caution. Colors are not always as-advertised.

Incredible hats. Incredible service. The most helpful company you'll ever meet.

This is the first time in my life that I’ve had a cap that actually fits my tiny head! No adjustment needed! Great quality with a well thought out design. What more can I ask? Their online store is organized and both styles and colors are diverse. Great company with determination to satisfy ALL sizes of heads!

This is the most comfortable hat I have ever worn! Most hats give me a headache. I also have a small head and the hat fits me perfectly! I need one in every color!

I have finally found a cap that fits my head- every other brand I’ve tried has always been too large… Customer service was great when I had a problem with one of my caps. I will be ordering more! Thank you Lift Down!

This is not going to be your usual type of review. I first ordered a Lift Down cap several months ago. The quality of this product is better than any cap I’ve ever owned. I particularly liked the extra large size, and the way it fit on my head. For this alone I give them 5-Stars for product quality. My cap arrived in a reasonable amount of time, however it was a few days beyond the advertised delivery time.

More recently I ordered another cap when I saw a promotion for a new color that I really liked. The order again shipped in a reasonable amount of time, however, using the 3rd Party Shipper “GOFO” my shipment fell into a “Black Hole” and was delayed excessively. I contacted GOFO several times to confirm my address and they said they were holding the package because the address could not be found. I confirmed my address and provided a secondary shipping location, and in both cases, after several more days, their website said the package has been delayed because they could not locate either address. Both addresses have had deliveries made by all the usual carriers regularly.

I want to say that Marielle at Lift Down was very apologetic and continued working with me to get my order delivered. After over a month of back and forth with GOFO, Marielle finally sent me a new order using a reputable carrier which arrived in just a few days.

If you want a high quality cap, Lift Down is definitely the best. If you want the cap delivered in a reasonable amount of time, you might want to call Marielle directly and request shipping by one of the Big 5 carriers and not GOFO.

The caps are beautifully made but the real winner is their customer service. I needed to exchange my purchase and they solved the problem going above and beyond.

I highly recommend the caps and the company.

I had a return that was mailed to the incorrect address, meaning not the return department. I emails and conversed with Marielle. She was so kind and helpful and processed the exchange before the return had finally found its way to the correct department. GREAT customer service and love the caps! Thank you so much!

They found out that my order was delayed and reshipped it to me. The hats are fantastic. Finally a cap that fits my smaller head! Love them!
