We were using spreadsheets and Sage 50 before as our main systems, then we switched over to LimeBooks as it appeared to be the best value for money and easiest to use compared to other software.

The software is very easy to use and pick up and made working with bank statements extremely easy and we saved significant time doing VAT returns and accounts immediately.

We then realised there's an extra time saver in the second year around, where we've already prepared the previous year's accounts, everything flows through smoothly and it's easy to post journals and export to TaxCalc.

I’ve worked with many accounting software platforms over the years, and Limebooks genuinely stands out.

It’s clear this software was designed by accountants who actually understand what businesses need — not by tech teams trying to impress with endless features that rarely get used. Everything feels purposeful. Clean layout, logical workflows, and no unnecessary clutter.

What I particularly value is how intuitive it is. You’re not fighting the system to get simple tasks done. Posting entries, reviewing reports, and navigating between areas is straightforward and efficient. It does exactly what you need it to do — and does it well.

Am loving this software. Much easier and quicker and easier to use than Xero. The price point is perfect, especially for smaller clients who don't make high profits. The flexibility and speed is unbeatable, especially when having to quickly allocate lots of transactions to a nominal.

LimeBooks is great for those jobs where the client doesn’t have very good records if any at all. The bank statement pdf converter is brilliant. Being able to sort transactions in any order and make multiple postings is a definite time saver.

Excellent software which really helps me to keep on top of things for personal and company accounts. The support is excellent and the programme easy to use.

Limebooks came along at a time we were looking for new software to manage our clients, but also provide software that clients would find easy to use that was cloud based and cost effective.
Being able to import statements in different formats not only speed up the process, but reduces input errors.
It's continually being updated to work better for the client and the practice, which is absolutely brilliant, and because it's being developed by an Accountancy practice to meet their needs it's so much more user friendly than the better known software brands!

Love using this accounts package have used many over years and have worked in accounts for many years. I now run my own business as a side hustle for me a great way to put my AAT study knowledge to the test.
Alan is great can't count times I ask questions that may sound daft but I'm questioning if it right how I'm doing things and I'm and he never thinks I'm daft.
My down fall is I should have read the manual abit more in detail.
Only minor point is manual could be written with a few scenarios to explain what you do in this situation.

Been using LimeBooks since 2019. I have used various other accounting packages in the past but LimeBooks is the best by far!

Very easy to use for all of my business activities. Easy to import bank statements and saves so much time verses spreadsheets as the software remembers entries and automatically inputs data so you just have check and approve. I also find the mileage and subsistence tab extremely useful as input my mileage each day and then generate a report each month which displays mileage and subsistence owed.

As an accountant I have of course used other software on the market. What sets LimeBooks apart is the flexibility and ease of use. We are able to save a lot of time preparing accounts. The process of importing the raw data is quick and intuitive. The software quickly learns how to process transactions avoiding manual intervention. It is also very easy to review the data and make corrections if necessary. I would thoroughly recommend the software to any accountant or indeed business owner.

As an Accountant in practice helping clients with their manual bookkeeping systems, I have tried most of the well-known accounting software systems and found them to be too comprehensive/all-singing for the smaller clients that I have. Limebooks is an amazing user-friendly software that enables us to manage and reconcile our accounts easily.
