Appalling company now trading as MUFG, website is constantly down, staff are useless no customer care what so ever, you cant get through to anyone with any sense, you cant access your shareholdings. They loose paperwork constantly, they are useless and you have to complain constantly. They need to be fined by the FSA, they are disgraceful.

Terrible company

10 months post sale of shares and still waiting for the proceeds.
This company need investigating by the FCA
Absolutely appalling management of what should be straightforward transactions that they deal with regularly.

Scam Company?

Trying to get back payments from shares that were “on hold”. Impossible !! They have taken a £75 over 5 weeks ago to post a cheque still nothing, called today to say it wasn’t sent as you hadn’t paid it. Never come across such a useless company in my life. I think they are a scam company no idea how this is allowed to go on! I’ve being trying to get these payments for over a year!! I’m sure there must be a financial ombudsman they can be reported to!

High Charges, Low Service

I had some matured SAYE schemes that had been moved into this mobs clutches. Given the way the UK taxation looks like going, I needed to move them into a S&S ISA. Signalshares aka Link Group couldn't have made it more difficult if they'd tried, I'm guessing they wanted me to sell them and pay their horrific commission charges. Luckily Interactive Investor arranged the whole transfer from their end and bypassed the Link Office. How do these Companies keep getting away with exorbitant charges in this day and age?

p.s

If you have the share certificates as I did, it takes about a week to transfer your hard earned shares into a reputable share dealing company. That means staff who know what they're doing in, and in most cases fixed commission charges.

I have never come across a company so…

I have never come across a company so inept at doing a basic admin job ,to take nearly 6weeks still on going. Some of the staff do not seem to care and don’t seem interested in putting the clients first. How a letter can take over 2weeks to cover 40 miles distance and then blame Royal Mail at the delay .I am amazed that BP would use such a company to look after their shareholders holdings.Probably not surprised when look at the state of BP share price .Cluless from the top to bottom.Seeing the number of complaints lam not the only one frustrated,if there was a minus chart they would be leading.

hilariously bureaucratic processes in order to increase revenue

In a nutshell, this company expects you to use your precious time to cash dividend cheques for a really small amount asap, IF YOU DON'T (this was a month and i was away for 3 of those weeks), they will seemingly immediately withhold any further dividend payments incite their bureaucratic form filling/getting you to jump through hoops like they are training you to represents them at crufts including sending ID.

It gets better, lets decide you think ok lets donate these amounts to charity, GUESS WHAT, yes that's right, more bureaucratic hoops to jump though to do this. What does this all ultimately indicate (at least in my mind)? - they have put said hoops in place to ultimately get a good percentage of these dividend payments siphoned into their coffers.

WHY LINK GROUP has this got to be so difficult? - why the need to cash the cheques for £1.xx within a month? - why the form filling and hoops? you think everyone has enough time to do this?, do you think everyone has a printer and a scanner at home ready for this old school nonsense (if you are going to have some bureaucratic nonsense) at least provide a modern online form - oh wait that would be easy and then less would go into the coffers - you are quite correct.

6 weeks and complete incompetence Trying to close my SAYE schemes as I have left the company and I have spoken to so many people. Had emails confirming closure but the schemes are still live, promised a CHAPS payment the same day, nothing received. Urgently need the funds but am literally at a loss what to do now. Terrible company

Awful company

My company used this group for their share scheme so I was forced to deal with them. Upon leaving I was given 21 days to make my decision on how to proceed with my shares however the letter informing me of this was delivered 11 days after the date of the letter, so I lost half my decision time off the bat. The letter also had my investor code wrong - if I hadn't previously called them then I would have had no idea what the correct reference was. The earlier call to the group assured me I would have around 6 weeks from the date of leaving to make my decision. It also led to me getting the wrong idea regarding tax liability.
Twice I called and the handler couldn't hear me, one time they called back. A different call was terminated when the handler said he needed to check some details but then hung up. Finally getting through to a handler who could hear me and advise today and she was fine.
Based on other reviews I expect to have a long wait before I actually get the proceeds from my shares.

I can't begin to tell you how appalling…

I can't begin to tell you how appalling this company is!! Customer service reps nust be given lessons in how to provide bad, vague and totally unhelpful lessons!! I have now been dealing with them for 4 months. Dealing with them over some shares my late mother held. I've provided all requisite information necessary including paying Link a cheque of my own for Indemnity....only to be sent a cheque in the name of my late mother!!! Couldn't therefore pay it in to my own bank account!!! Promised it would be treated as urgent and cheque reissued in correct name!? Now over 2 weeks later just been told original cheque now cancelled ( I was told this would take effect immediately)????! Now being processed again apparently. Some new information appears at every call! Left holding on phone for 30 mins not know if rep was actually coming back to me!!! Only to be told another vague answer (after doggedly pushing him)....still no cheque received. I would rather lose a tooth than deal with this company ever again!

There seems to be a theme here as I like many others have been kept waiting on be proceeds from selling my shares. I get fobbed off and told it is acceptable to take a week to get back to you. Have now raised 3 times and no resolution. Maybe requires the FSA to look at what they are doing with the interest they gain on holding onto peoples money longer than they should be. If you don’t have to use them would certainly look elsewhere

This is an incompetent company

This is an incompetent company. I have been fobbed off saying that they have made transfers/ sent cheques / escalated the issue to senior management or any excuse to get me to go away. They have not paid out a share sale for over 4 months. I finally got resolution when I suggested that I would contact the financial media with the issues. I feel sorry for the staff as this is obviously a company strategy from the top down. Customer Service levels make me question how any Company could decide to Use Link Group

Incompetent

3 separate dealing with SIP shares over the course of 3 years, Each time worst than the last.

They will sell your shares (eventually) then take 2+ weeks to actually send you the money whether it be by cheque or bank transfer.

Seems totally fraudulent and I think they need to be investigated by the financial ombudsman.

Is the Link Group is a scam?

I'm wondering if the Link Group is a scam?
The reason being that I received a letter from them telling me that I was owed £2.20 from a previous share holding with SSE.
I emailed them with name, address and bank details so that I could receive the money.
This resulted in a reply from Habiba Bhana saying that I needed to confirm my identity with their customer services by phoning +44 371 664 0371. However, when you phone that number, a recording then asks you to phone an 0871 number. Now, for those who don't know, it costs up to 13p per minute to call that number and I envisaged being slammed with a bill for more than I was owed.
I emailed Habiba about this and she just repeated that the number was an 0371 one. Presumably she didn't know about the scam that her company is working.
So, I'm owed £2.20 and I can't see a way of getting it.
