The Fashion Photography Course offers high-quality content and supportive environment. I felt welcomed and well-guided throughout the entire experience. The curriculum covers all the basics, including lighting techniques, and the practical assignments give real hands-on experience. By the end of the course, we came away with a quality photoshoot. Overall, I highly recommend this course for its excellent teaching and friendly atmosphere.

The course was very good and I would definitely recommend it. It gives you good foundation in the basics of photography, with theory and practice. The teaching was very good and professional. Overall, a very enjoyable course.

This has to be my favourite training course that I've done and I didn't want it to end. Debbie was such an engaging teacher. She had a fantastic ability to explain and demonstrate all the concepts and it never felt like you were asking stupid questions. At the end of the course, I came out with a set of photos that I would never have imagined I could capture.

I have just completed the Professional Photography course at the LIOP. I absolutely loved the course. It covers practical aspects of using the camera, some photographic history, documentary, portrait, fashion and still life photography as well as using essential digital software such as lightroom and photoshop.

The pace is fast and there is a great deal of content but you are guided through by a group of fantastic tutors, all experts in their field and passionate about photography.

I really feel the course has given me a strong base to found my photography practice on. I now have a good understanding of my camera, of how to set up the ideal exposure depending on the outcome I want to achieve, of studio lighting and of software to retouch and process my photographs.

The course is taught in way that enables you to choose between studying on Fridays, or weekends, as an intense continuous course, or there is a flexible option where you can mix the days and spread out the course over the year. This is the option I chose to fit around my work and family committments. I really appreciated this flexibility.

The London Institute of Photography is situated in lively Brick Lane, well positioned for the amazing locations used on the practical photography projects on the beginners, intermediate and documentary courses. It's easy to get to and there are a wealth of incredible food options at lunchtime!

I started the Full PPC course at LIoP in March and finished it at the end of May 2024. Those two and half months were very intense: so many new things to learn, to practice and exchange with the students as well as the teachers! I loved it. I was scared to take the leap and spend almost three months in London to only do Photography but I’m not disappointed. It is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The teachers were great, and Holger was caring and insightful. The courses were all well explained and full of information.The plus: to be able to directly apply the theories/lessons we were having!
Now I feel way more confident in my Photography path and more comfortable taking on new projects (personal and professional ones) something I thought couldn’t be possible anymore. Excited about the future!

If you are waiting for a sign to do any course with LIoP then this is it :)
I swear look no further! I have tried many different photography courses/workshops around London and LIoP gave me the knowledge satisfaction like no other! I genuinely felt so supported and gained so much insight. Even though, the course I took was only four days, with the lesson duration of two and a half hours, the amount of useful information and tips I received was immaculate!!! Holger is a fantastic teacher giving waterless topic insights and genuine information & advice ,which in my opinion is perfect if you want to grow in the photography field and get straight to the point!
In conclusion, I simply can not recommend this place enough! ENJOY:)

Really enjoyed the classes at LIOP!
I took the complete professional photography course (PPC) - a full immersion into the world of professional photography, covering all important disciplines and skills you need as a photographer.
The teachers at LIOP are very motivated - you can see that they are passionate about photography and the students profit a lot from their experiences. I've gained so many important insights into the photography workflow and business - including a lot of information that you cannot easily find on your own. I particularly liked the clear and logical structure of the classes. The mentoring sessions with Holger were extremely helpful in order to get valuable feedback and to find my own style.
All in all, a great experience that I can recommend to everyone interested in working professionally as a photographer or just wanting to bring his/her photos to the next level!

Wow, what an incredible whirlwind of an experience. Holger has meticulously designed the PPC to include all the essential information and skills necessary to make it in the industry. Each week, you're presented with a new challenge that not only tests your photography skills but also builds your confidence. You have the backing of a fantastic team of professional photographers as well as your classmates. It's truly surreal when you complete the course and can proudly call yourself a professional photographer. I would do it all again if I could! I really loved LIoP's! I took their product photography course with Holger, the founder of the school, and learning from people who are actual working photographers really is the best.

The course(s) are very well-designed to cover a broad range of genres covering workflow, technical and artistic aspects. The tutors are experienced, passionate, approachable and supportive and the whole atmosphere school is overwhelmingly positive. I learned a lot but importantly had a lot of fun and met some wonderful people. Time and money well spent at LIoP

Was a great course to take! With a hands on approach and a very engaging and experienced instructor the course offers you all the technical skill set you need to start doing it on your own.

I've already attended 3 different courses (Portrait Photography, Product Photography and Career) and I honestly think this Institute is one of the best. They teach you with very high standards and it's incredible the development you can achieve in such a short period. Both technical, theoric and practical parts are very well covered! Best choice ever taken.

I was looking for a course that would be led by working photographers, whose industry and technical experience would be a catalyst for becoming a professional photographer myself. The professional training course was more than I could have hoped for. It creates a container for creativity and learning - combining teaching of technical skills with the important task of finding your individual style as a photographer. The school is led by Holger Pooten a highly successful photographer in his own right, who is an incredible mentor and teacher. His vision and passion for the school really sets it apart and I can't now imagine having gone anywhere else.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience! The classes are small and therefore every student gets the chance to ask questions, practice on equipment and complete assignments. All the teachers are industry professionals who also happen to be amazing at teaching their craft. I felt very well taken care of and could not recommend LIoP enough! I got personal feedback and recommendations on my work and walked away much more skilled and confident in my photography. Beyond having learned so many types of photography and aspects of the industry I also loved making the connections I did with other students and teachers. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.

I have completed the flexible PPC at LIOP, and what an experience. It's a brilliant course, and you can take each module on an individual basis. I have learnt so much, and it was fun which is also important. So much thought has gone into what is taught, and it opened my eyes to the true magic of photography. I'd be happy to do it all over again.

I am so glad I took the leap to pursue my photography professionally and LIoP was the right and perfect place to do so! I just graduated from the Professional Photography Course (PPC) at LIOP and think it was brilliant. The content across the 10 modules, well thought out materials, photographer references, opportunities to grow, expertise from every tutor (who are current, working photographers themselves) - all great. The most impressive part is the mentoring each student receives. I do not believe there's another course out there providing this type of invaluable advice. Holger's knowledge is truly impressive. He shares this with students throughout the PPC and strives to help every student to success. I feel its given me the best platform to kick off my life as a freelance photographer.

I began the flexible PPC a year ago, knowing practically nothing about what makes a good photograph. One year on, I now have a solid grounding in the core photography genres and post-production processes. I feel incredibly grateful to all the course tutors and, in particular, to course director Holger Pooten, who is a truly dedicated mentor and coach. It is a demanding course, and you will be pushed to your limits to achieve your potential, but it is well worth it.
