I initially chose the Little Dessert Shop, Swindon (539 Cricklade Road, SN2 1AH) because it appears extremely professional, and their cakes look impressive. I genuinely expected a good experience. Instead, I have now experienced two consecutive failures, with the second incident being serious enough that I feel compelled to warn other customers.

FIRST INCIDENT:
My first order was wrong, and I was told nothing could be corrected unless I physically came to the shop. I complied, even though the mistake was entirely theirs. They gave me a larger cake as a gesture of apology, and I accepted it in good faith. I believed this was a one-off mistake and gave them a second chance. That was clearly a mistake on my part.

SECOND INCIDENT (the serious one):
I placed a completely separate order through JustEat and paid for delivery. The app suddenly switched to “collection only” and falsely marked my order as collected — which I had not done. I phoned the shop and was told that if the issue couldn’t be resolved that evening, I could come the next day, and my order would be prepared and ready for collection.

The next day, I arrived within 15 minutes of calling, exactly as agreed. Instead of handing over the order I had already paid for, I was point-blank refused. When I calmly questioned this, the manager on duty became confrontational and referenced a previous refund (issued because they got my order wrong last time), using it as justification to deny me this new, fully paid order.

To be absolutely clear:
I was refused goods I had legally paid for, after they instructed me to return the next day.
This is not only unprofessional — it borders on withholding paid goods, which is entirely unacceptable.

I was made to over-explain myself, made to feel as though I was acting dishonestly, and left with nothing, despite travelling down twice, wasting my time and petrol.

For a business that presents itself as polished and premium, the behaviour I encountered at the Swindon branch (539 Cricklade Road) was the exact opposite: disorganised, dismissive, and frankly shocking from a managerial standpoint.

I am choosing to remain anonymous on Trustpilot because the entire situation was deeply undermining, disgraceful, downright embarrassing, and I felt completely mistreated. No customer should ever be spoken to or treated in this manner.

Waited over two hrs and ten minutes still no order so cancelled it was told originally 35 minute wait , no communication from them poor customer service would not recommend ever very upset children after waiting hours for something that didn’t turn up will not order again

The order came later than expected- called the shop a few times was advised that the driver would call me but he didn’t. I ordered a crepe which is supposed to be warm when it come it was cold and edible at all.

Ordered 4 waffle with fresh strawberries but there was no strawberries on any of them no answer on phone

Desserts never arrived. Shop staff could not have cared less. They just put the phone down on me. Avoid.

Nicest waffles we have had from a dessert place. Very soft and fluffy however my son said he wished there was more Ferrero rocher on his. They are a bit more expensive than some places but they were lovely.

Little dessert shop on lozzesls: there dessert is really good and staff are really polite we ordered a waffle and they accidentally put the wrong choco drizzles so they phoned us and said if we should make a new waffle we said no so they sent us two free ice cream would recommend to family and friends the prices are good and fast service 10 out of 10

10/10, everything is made up to perfect standards, they put a lot for what you’ve payed for which is great as most places don’t do that. The staff are amazing they help you out with anything you need, i would recommend this dessert shop to everyone i know i love it thank you so much

This was always our favourite desert shop when we fancied a treat but lately the deserts are being smothered in sauce they are too sickly to enjoy or even finish.

Loyal customer here come weekly but recently my waffles have been way undercooked. Got to the point it’s not even worth ordering from this place anymore as it’s the same as problem over and over again
