Stunned

I was really surprised by this shop!
They delivered SO FAST! I ordered on tuesday (from Germany), they shipped on the same day and I got my package today, on thursday! All of the plants were healthy, beautiful and really big!

I'm really stunned and happy! ;)
Highly recommend :)

I had a bad experience with…

I had a bad experience with Livingforplants.

I and some friends ordered from their website on January 5th (150€ of plants in total).
They were pretty quick to send the order, and they decided to send the package the day after (that was a Wednesday so the package got stuck in a warehouse for the whole weekend).
I wasn't able to add a heat pack to my order (they didn't have the option on their website), but I figured that they'd protect the plants from the cold adding some extra bubble wrap/paper or even polystyrene foam as other websites do.

The package arrived with DPD the Monday after. I opened it and I could see some cold damage already. The plants were wrapped in only one layer of paper, and the only other thing to keep them secure was to add some plastic pots containers. I could see some of the plants really suffered from the cold, so I decided to send them an email.

"I know it's January and it's cold outside, so it's a risk to buy plants, but I find myself disappointed because:

- You sent the package on a Wednesday (which was incredibly fast, so you're pretty good at this!), but it meant that it stayed in a warehouse the whole weekend, and it's cold
- You did not isolate the package at all to protect the plants from the cold: most websites use styrofoam or at least bubble wrap to try to protect the plants in the cold months
- No heat pack: this meant that the plants traveled for five days (without even a 72hours heat pack that could have protected them for at least three days), I would pay to add that, but I didn't see the option.

Most of the plants suffered a lot, and I'm afraid I'm going to lose them; they're getting worse every day.
It's unfortunate, and I thought a lot about whatever sending you this email or not, but I think the plants got damaged a lot due to the packaging that was not proper to protect them from the winter (and of course, the days in transit).

Thanks for reading,
I hope to hear soon from you"

Their answer
"We do not ship with a heat pack because they get way too hot in a box (the first 4 hours they run up to 55 degrees) The photos show that the plants are having a hard time with their journey. The spots on the silver sword are normal. The silvery ann. It is really tough and takes a long time to recover. The treubi moonlight has already been repotted and this also causes extra stress. I cannot say how this will fare. We send the plants in a double corrugated cardboard box, which has always gone well until now. And unfortunately cannot take into account the temperatures on the way to the country of destination. I want to ask you to take good care of the plants. If things go wrong with the silvery ann, please let us know."

After some e-mails, and after they offered a 20% discount on the next order (but in the spring) that I declined, they decided to refund us two of the plants.

Most of the plants are now dead. I sent them updates and they didn't answer.

After telling me they don't use the heat pack, I came across their website a few days ago and I saw they added it as an option.
I get that it is winter, it's cold outside but I expect shops that decide to still sell plants in January to give the packaging some extra care and give decent customer support instead of trying to blame it on the customer because he repotted one plant (guess what, the only plant that survived is the one that I actually repotted).

It is sad because we lost our money, I never had any issues with any shop before. If the plant got here dead (and I showed proof), I got a refund. I never saw a poor packaging like this one (especially in the winter!).

I wanted to try this website again in the spring, they have good prices and nice plants, but I think I won't. I don't like how they handle the relationship with the customer (especially since it was a big order and most of the plants are dead).
