Bought a Land Rover Discovery 3 weeks…
Bought a Land Rover Discovery 3 weeks back from Lloyds at York, popped back in today ( 12/02/25 ) for a catch up with Christian and got a very warm welcome, cup of coffee for me and the wife and some really nice chat, the car is beautiful and a peach to drive, beautiful showroom and would recommend all round.

BUYER BEWARE!! Land rover YORK
BUYER BEWARE!!! I was a loyal customer for 9 years at Lloyd land rover YORK. Two Jaguars and 1 Range Rover Sport. Then when I went to sell back my RRS they played the lowest trick. So they game me a buy back figure (really insulting) but I was collecting another vehicle that week so accepted it. They then rang back and said we won't buy it for that, we'll make you another lower offer. I told them not to bother. I then put my car on CarWow. Within a day I got a sale for much higher than the initial buy back offer, used as bait by York, that they had then refused to honour anyway. Please don't let these dishonest bunch of dinosaurs, do you over. Try other avenues! Thanks CarWow!
Ok, this reply by Lloyd MG is rubbish, so first off - They are dishonest. Please try check your videos if you dare... I specifically said I didn't want a part exchange. They specifically gave me a buy back figure. This is a fact. Something you cannot seem to grasp, you are just repeating the dishonest thing they retrospective made up and stuck to. Also the offer they falsely claim was a part ex Was eclipsed by another range rover dealer in a straight buy on CarWow... So shows what rubbish you talk. As if I'll ever deal with you or your bank again. Worst deal on offer by miles. People only need to look around to see what your reputation is becoming. So good effort I'm sure your brand protection will fail at some point.

Great customer service at Carlisle Jaguar
The customer service at Carlisle Jaguar was superb, the car less so, with multiple faults occurring from collection and the following weeks, but I cannot fault the way the issues were dealt with great support and always being able to get hold of the salesman, who resolved everything himself, rather than passing the problems onto post-sales or servicing.

Hi there be careful with this company as when you need your warranty to be used it’s a scam as you phone speak to service and they don’t get back. Then saying we did try to get intouch . I have moved to a different Jaguar dealership who are very professional just be careful.

Avoid at all costs!!! Bought a Range Rover evoque, before the sale was completed the salesman was in good contact with myself however after the sale he was a ghost. Within the first week my breaks were squeaking, the seat had a rip in (this was noted on the test drive and was t repaired upon pick up) the filter under the seat was wrong so there was a constant noise, my tracking was out and my windscreen wipers were dragging across the screen. I was told the car had a full MOT and service prior to me picking this up. The car then went back into the garage and nearly 3 weeks later there is no end date to the works! I have now been told I can have a full refund so this is what I’m doing. I paid cash in full for my car and it was a very easy sale.
By far the worst customer service I have ever received. Avoid this garage at all costs, an absolute disgrace.

Misrepresentative marketing and time consuming operations
Normally I wouldn't have bothered to review this business, but through their misrepresentative marketing and long-winded enquiry mechanism, they have wasted a considerable amount of my time, so...
My main issue, is that their statement "we buy any car make and model" is phrased to make a consumer believe that they buy ANY car. They do not.
The consumer faces a multitude of fields to fill in, across a variety of screens, prior to getting a valuation.
In my case, I took time to complete their lengthy questionnaire, only to be told at the end of it that the combination of make, model, age and mileage meant that they would not quote a value.
The site should be set up so that this is established after the first screen and that there is therefore no need to complete all the other data.
I certainly wouldn't choose Lloyds to buy/sell my other more valuable cars, as this is an indication of customer thought and care.

Lloyd Jaguar Landrover York- horrendous. I’ve been waiting 5 months to get a service completed on my Jaguar and have just been told it will be another month. That’s right, a service. Not an engine replacement or a rare part needed. Every time I speak to them I get excuse after excuse. This is the third time the appointment has been pushed back. I would avoid this dealership at all costs.

Not looking good , changed there mind on a deal after taking deposit. They cannot be trusted what a shower , don’t return call don’t communicate to each other spending 50k and that is how you get treated cancelled deal now Never go to the company

Outstanding and Professional service of my Range Over P400e SE Velar
I took my Range Rover P400e Velar to Lloyd Land Rover in Ripon, because I had an Engine Management Light (EML) activation. I enquired about a possible wheel bearing issue and I requested an interim oil change. I received an extremely professional service led by Craig Newcombe (Service Department). Craig had his mechanics diagnose and rectifily the issue concerning the EML, established and replaced the Front Nearside Wheel Bearing and completed the interim oil change. Moreover, the Service Dept conducted a full check of my brakes (pads & discs) and tyres (tread depth and wear). Craig Newcombe established that the premature wear on the bearing was covered under my extended warranty. The effective way in which my vehicle had been serviced and repaired was absolutely outstanding. I had been informed quickly by email and phone of the 'state of play' concerning my Velar. In addition, on picking up my vehicle I had a comprehensive breakdown of all works undertaken, and a nice touch, my receipt was accompanied by a hard copy of the service, as displayed on my digital e-service record. I will now use Lloyd Landrover of Ripon for all my servicing and vehicle maintenance needs. An outstanding experience.

She put me at ease almost immediately and made the whole experience of viewing the car along with a test drive go very well , answering all my queries without any kind of pressure which impressed me , the negotiation prior to purchase was completed in very pleasant manner and would definitely recommend Lloyds of York and very impressed with showroom and the whole experience

Lloyd Select Newcastle - Exceptional!
Exceptional service from Chris and Barry, it’s been a few months since I purchased the car, I had some faults arise not long after the purchase of the car which I don’t believe were any fault of Lloyd Select but I wanted to get them sorted before leaving a review. After being messed about by one diagnostics garage I decided to take my car direct to Audi, they diagnosed the issue and fixed it, then I managed to use the warranty given to me by Lloyd Select to claim the costs back (apart from some of the labour due to Audi’s exceptionally high labour rate per hour!). The warranty claim was a lot simpler and faster than expected, with the claim being in my bank within 48 hours of sending them the invoice. Thank you Chris and Barry for all your time and effort into helping arrange this car for me, I absolutely love it and would definitely deal with Lloyd Select Newcastle again in a heartbeat.
