Very professional and sympathetic 5*

Overall a very thorough and competent service. We had to take our dog to the branch at Pets at Home in Folkestone - although the outcome was very upsetting as he had to be put to sleep, it was dealt with very professionally and sympathetically. The vet himself was absolutely brilliant, his attitude was very understanding throughout. The supporting staff were excellent too. It was also very nice to receive a card from them a week later expressing there sympathy. Would highly recommend.

Our cat Purdy

Our cat, Purdy was very poorly, we took her to the Vets at Pets at Home, Sprowston, the vet who saw her was very thorough in her examination, she kept us informed and explained our options. Unfortunately our cat had to be put to sleep. The vet and her team were so helpful, professional and compassionate throughout it all. I cannot thank them enough. Their thoughtfulness did not stop there, a few days later we received a card from them saying 'sorry for your loss', this was so lovely. I would definitely recommend them to any pet owner.

THIS PLACE DOESN’T DESERVE A STAR

THIS PLACE DOESN’T DESERVE A STAR - IT NEEDS INVESTIGATION INTO THE HORRIBLE VETS. CROYDON WADDON

This vet practice in Croydon is an absolute mess! First of all I’ve had issues with them diagnosing my dogs illness and giving appropriate pain relief. I had to take my dog 3 times to the vet on the same day to help her get pain relief injections and they charged me each time for the consultation x2 £38 on top of injection fees etc I was entitled to my first visit free as I pay a monthly fee for this. Obviously I was annoyed to pay this even though it was for the same condition. I asked politely if it was a mistake and they told me no. I even asked the receptionist on my 2nd visit if when I visit for a 3rd time (recheck) will I be charged? She told me no as it is a recheck. The head vet Obi seems to think this is standard practice and was so rude to me. Accusing me of lying about my dogs condition.

Today I had to take my dog there to get her dew claws clipped. Firstly she went in and they didn’t even check her dew claws even though they were told by my husband specially. We had to take her back!! Even the receptionist said I told you it was for dew claws. She went back in to have them done. To my surprise we got back in the car and my dogs foot was covered in blood. I was so upset and shocked that the vet had clipped my dogs nails incorrectly and hurt her. It made me sad as this is a procedure that the nurse normally does and when I confronted them and showed them her foot. They checked her over but I had no apology whatsoever, Obi was so rude to me and I was just in so much shock and upset once they told me my dog was ok I left. I can’t believe a head vet doesn’t know how to clip dew claws without hurting the animal. There was no care or attention and the attitude there is ‘it’s always our fault’ they want money and they don’t care for the animals. Pictures are below of my poor baby’s foot. The claw was still bleeding at this point.

Don’t take your beloved pets here. It’s a horrible atmosphere and horrible vets. I can’t believe my poor doggie had to experience them. Just to finish this review I have been a customer there for 5 years and never experienced what I did today. I just can’t believe the ignorance of the vets. Never again!

Amazing team of vets, so kind and companionate. They have looked after all our animals and will continue to do so as they are just amazing.
The receptionists are lovely too - warm and welcoming and very understanding of us neurotic pet owners!!
A1 Vets - thank you so much for everything you have done and continue to do.
