The car worked well and appeared well maintained. I did not receive any instructions on how to return the car until I called them from the road after having no success with google maps. i I would advise that you request the specifics the day before the scheduled car return. This information is essential in order to return the car on time. Bari is a congested city so circling is time consuming and the return site is a parking garage rather than a lot.

I had to wait over half an hour for staff to arrive at reception because there was no one there. What’s more, when I tried to pay by debit card, the member of staff asked for my card and entered all the details into the computer to process the payment, but the system kept giving an error message due to the bank’s security measures, when all they really needed to do was follow the standard procedure using a card reader.

Brand new quality vehicle with only 7000Km on the clock. Relatively quick pick up.

Easy procedure. Easy to retrieve and easy to return. Everything online. To reach the sites by phone was not possible though.

The car was a very late model Ford Puma in very good condition. No issues with it at all. We picked it up in Matera at the designated time which coincided with the start of their one and half hours siesta break but they stayed to process our booking and get us on our way. Very grateful. Drop off in Bari was smooth and easy too. We would have no problem recommending Locauto.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful especially when I forgot something in the car and had to return to get it. They had already been to the car got it out and had it waiting for me. Thankyou.

Deposit Unfairly Withheld by Locauto Matera - Illegal Practice Warning

Following a rental with Locauto in Matera, I ensured the vehicle was returned in perfect condition, fully fueled and spotless. Nevertheless, they charged my deposit, offering no legal or reasonable explanation. Such practices appear to be illegal and are highly disappointing. I caution future renters in Italy to think twice before choosing this company. I am awaiting the reimbursement of the deposit that was charged without justification.

Dopo un noleggio con Locauto a Matera, ho riconsegnato l’auto in perfette condizioni, con il serbatoio pieno e completamente pulita. Nonostante ciò, hanno trattenuto la cauzione, senza fornire spiegazioni legali o plausibili. Queste pratiche sembrano essere illegali e sono estremamente deludenti. Invito i futuri noleggiatori in Italia a riflettere bene prima di scegliere questa compagnia. Attendo il rimborso della cauzione che è stata addebitata senza giustificazione.
