Awful company with awful clothes. They advertise one thing and then you receive something completely different and then they refuse to refund. Unethical company. Do not purchase anything from them.
This company is a scam. The products are low quality and their advertising is false. They specifically told me the products were cotton/poly blend and I'd be very happy. If there was any cotton in the product it was a thread. The material was slimy and low quality.
The product comes from China and if you want to return you must pay the return shipping which is high and complicated.
There is nothing good about this company - Stay Clear!
I love my 2 dresses. Great value too. I've gotten so many compliments on both of them. Lucy & Claire sent so many update emails from order to delivery, I was impressed.
I bought two outfits that were cheaply made and did not fit. When I asked for a return label and a credit I was told I had to cover the postage to an address in China. This is NOT a quaint store in Charleston. This is a Chineses scam. They should be taken down from Face Book. Do not do business with theses scam Chinese scam artists. .
Same complaint as most of the others. Bought from them because they advertised as a mom and daughter boutique from South Carolina. Turns out it’s a place in China. Quality was cheap. Sizing very off. When I tried to return I emailed for a return authorization as the website instructed, and included the images from my order receipt. They asked for an actual picture showing the item. so I sent that. Then they said they could send a replacement for $9.95 shipping and I could keep the original item; or I could select another item of similar or less cost and pay the 9.95 shipping; or they would give me a 50% store credit. I wrote back I wanted a full refund and haven’t heard back from them since. I should have known not to buy from them-saw the ad on Facebook. I thought I had checked reviews before buying but guess not or saw a fake review site because it said customers were happy. I’ll probably have to write it off as a bad experience and learn my lesson. Buyers definitely beware!!!!!
I just received part of my first order and they are nothing like what was shown on your website. Total misrepresentation of color, fabric, trim, etc,!!! I would never wear either one in the privacy of my home much less in public! I have never in my life seen such cheap fabric, I can't even imagine how toxic it must be!! I ordered the small and the blouse is HUGE! The breast is 46 inches! The braided trim on the blouse is not trim, it is the same cheap fabric and only 1/4 in wide. The hem and all the stitching is what you find on very CHEAP clothing.and the sleeve is nothing like your fake photos. The photo has a gathered wrist, mine is 17 inches wide at the wrist, your fake photo also has beads sewn on the fabric. Lucy and Clara Charleston you have used stolen catalog photos and misleading ads to sell cheap, drop-shipped goods!!! I expect a full refund!! What I was sent is not even worth five dollars!!!
Just horrible. Took me forever to get them and when they finally arrived, I was shocked at how God awful they were. Terrible material and very I'll fitted. Honestly, I don't know how these people sleep at night. False advertising to the highest degree.
I purchased an outfit from a Lucy & Claire that appeared to be based in Charleston, South Carolina. The seller advertised a return policy, but when I tried to return the item, they repeatedly tried to persuade me not to return it and instead offered other options by email. When I insisted on a refund and return, they gave me a return address in China, not Charleston, which was inconsistent with how the business was presented. I believe the business misled the buyer and may be engaging in deceptive practices.
If I could give 0 stars I would. My biggest mistake was not checking here for true reviews before ordering. The two tops I ordered were a disaster. Cheap slick nylon material with the cuts so off that the pockets were nearly located under my armpits! This is the biggest scam company and Facebook should be ashamed to be posting for this horrible product. Buyer beware. Their return process is complex and leaves them an option to refuse to refund if they don’t receive the product as a return which you have to send to China. It’s the most ridiculous process I’ve ever seen.
I DID do some research before purchasing but failed to find these reviews. Wish I had. Cheap, garish colors that failed to look like the classy ads….return to China for the cost of what you’d already paid. Don’t fall for it. Will give away the 5 items I bought to goodwill…..it’s definitely a scam that they have a store anywhere in the US!!!!
Purchased a dress from Lucy and Claire Charelston was advertised through Instagram as a mother and daughter boutique operating out of the USA. It is none of those things. Operating strictly overseas. I received the dress and it was several sizes too small. So the sizing was way off and the quality was somewhat questionable. I was offered another dress which I could not accept because the sizing was so off. I was then offered a 15% refund with no return of the dress. After five emails asking for a return I was given the information but told it would be quite expensive to return overseas. After some research, I discovered that it could cost almost as much as I paid for the dress to try to return it. I was offered a 30% refund with no return. I emailed back and asked for a 50% refund, but was denied I then accepted the 30% refund. This whole experience was unacceptable. Advertising that you are a locally owned boutique out of the USA is not true. Please do not purchase from this site. Only getting 15 to 30% back for your purchase it’s not right.
This review is for Lucy & Clara Charelston.
The clothing items were horrible, ill-fitting, cheap and poorly made material. The denim shirt made of 'cotton' was false. The 'quick and easy return' would require me to return them to the Asia warehouse even though the return address is in different parts of USA. There is not Lucy & Clara tag sewn in, there are no fabric care instructions sewn in the clothing and no description to tell me what kind of material it made of. Buyers beware.
I just had further follow up with Lucy and Claire regarding my order. I wanted to return two dresses and they wanted me to pay for shipping to China (NO WAY). They then offered me the opportunity to keep my two dresses and a 50% discount on a future order plus two free replacements if I paid for the shipping of my replacements. I will not do any business with this company. I wish I had researched them BEFORE placing my order. Buyer beware!
Horrible! Dress was NOTHING like what was pictured...no stretch and way too small. Customer service said they would refund me 20%. Otherwise, return to Asia! I complained to they refunded 30%. This is a scam website...NOT IN CHARLESTON! DIRECTLY FROM ASIA! SAVE YOUR MONEY.
I received all 4 items, and material patterns match the ad. Sizing, however, is inconsistent. 1 item fits OK, 2 items are snug but may be wearable. One is almost too tight to squeeze into, definitely not wearable; its width (above chest) is 2" less than the one that fits.
Ordered items thinking it was a Charleston, SC boutique. When they finally arrived, completely disappointed in quality of fabric, construction and they barely resembled the photo online. I contacted the customer service right after they were delivered and wanted a refund. The customer service responded immediately offering partial refund (15% then 30%) with product discounts in addition. Then the hook of having to return to China and wait for them to decide if I get a refund. Nope. Took the 30% and learned a lesson.
The Lillian outfit that I ordered was inferior quality material and stitching. I asked for a refund of my purchase when returned. The only option to return was to China which cost wise was more than the item. At first I was offered a 15% refund! Then a 30% refund! We'll see if I actually get anything. Wish I had checked reviews before ordering. Be careful with this company.
The dress is attractive and easy to style. It fits well overall though I needed some time to adjust to the cut. Still a pleasant shopping experience.
Buyer beware! Not shipped from.Charleston, SC but from CHINA!
Material is CHEAP linen, feels like cardboard! Sizing is not true to size either. I have attempted to get a return label for shipping it back and they keep offering me 50%.off of the NEXT order...won't be ordering from the again! My mistake for thinking the photos of the dresses were real too!
The material of the dress that I purchased is very cheap looking and feeling. 😔 Disappointed
