I went to luka with high expectations…

I went to luka with high expectations and that was definitely exceeded, i had a lovely lady called olivia serving me, she was so polite and had a warmth about her. Definitely will be returning with the staff being so welcoming.

Lunch with my sister

Beautiful building staff and management very attentive and friendly.Good range of food with a lot of the produce being sourced locally, homemade or bought in from the Mediterranean.Food was just so delicious(i dont like olives)i ate these olives and would certainly buy some the next time the market is on.Pricing of food is very reasonable and big portions.Toilets were immaculate, cant really fault the place, some improvements could be put in place but im sure once the teething problems are out of the way it will be somewhere i will visit a lot.Looking forward to the new menu's which will be in place later this week including Christmas menu,

Disappointed customers

I'm not someone who normally leaves negative reviews, but unfortunately our special celebration was completely ruined by this experience. We chose this restaurant for our 25th wedding anniversary, and it also happened to be the day of their grand opening. We booked our table more than a month in advance and were really looking forward to a memorable evening. For the first hour, everything was going well. We enjoyed our first round of drinks and our food, which arrived quickly and was very good. However, the menu was very limited, especially considering the prices. It felt as though the reduced menu may have been introduced because of the large number of bookings that evening. After finishing our first drinks, a waitress asked if we would like another round, so we placed an order. That is where the problems began. We waited 40 minutes and still had not received our drinks. After asking several members of staff what was happening, one person told us that we should go to the bar ourselves. I was shocked that this was considered an acceptable response to paying customers. We then asked if she could check on our order. We waited another 30 minutes, and still nothing arrived.Eventually, I asked another staff member for the bill. After waiting a further 20 minutes with no response, I stood in the middle of the restaurant and said that we were leaving and wanted to pay. Once again, we were ignored. We left feeling extremely disappointed. No member of staff appeared to be looking after our table, and for long periods, nobody checked on us or asked if we needed anything. The food was good, but the customer service was extremely poor. It seems that the restaurant focused on making a big impression with its opening event but unfortunately failed to provide even a basic level of service to its customers.Sadly, what should have been a memorable celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary became a very frustrating and disappointing evening.

Fabulous night at Luka Preston

What a night at Luka Preston! 🥂✨

An absolutely incredible launch for what is one of the city’s standout venues. The food was delicious, the staff were superb, the cocktails looked fantastic and the live music created such an amazing atmosphere — with everyone up dancing before the DJ finished the night in style!

I had the halloumi to start and chicken kebab for main and I would highly recommend both 😋

A truly stunning venue, brilliant from start to finish and something completely different for Preston. Huge congratulations on the launch — an incredible evening and only the beginning! 🖤🥂Can’t wait to return!

The Glory of God is still extant in this old Baptist Church: Seven Stars.

This old Baptist Church must be one of the most beautiful buildings in Preston; if not the whole of Lancashire...It is worth a visit just to look at the marvelous architecture. It has been tastefully converted into this restaurant. The picture behind me was of a Pelican. This was the symbol of Bishop Foxe; who founded Corpus Christi College, Oxford in 1517. He chose the Pelican because it was reputed to peck its breast to feed its young with blood; which represents Jesus Christ's sacrifice for the sins of the Whole, Wide World. I attended Corpus back in the day. I read Natural Sciences (Chemistry) there. My twin brother, John, stayed on to do a PhD in Leeds; so I stayed on to read for a D.Phil. in Fluorine Chemistry. My supervisor was Dr Tony Downs - he was a wonderful boss. I cannot praise him highly enough for his care of me when I was hospitalized. Tony and his wife, Mary, visited me every day without fail. Tony must have had lots of other things on which he'd rather have spent his time but he chose to look after me. Whilst John wrote up his PhD, I was just too ill to complete mine. However, I do still have all the spectra so I guess I could still write it up... I am James: a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
