I have been very unhappy with Lumi after paying for this app for over six months. I have given it more than a fair chance. In the past, I have used the personal shoppers at Nordstrom’s and Bloomingdale’s but thought it would be better to try an app where I could take as long as I wanted to make up my mind. I believe they will be quite glad for my return.
First, the thing about it which frustrates me the most is that the sizes I wear are never available. Or the item suggested is either not available or has been discontinued. I have spent untold hours of time trying to find even one of their suggested “outfits” — and it turns out that many of the “outfits” only have one or two of the items pictured, period. And then, as mentioned, the two items are not available in my size, even IF available. The outfits pictured are always very nice and look to be what I might wear outside of my home. After finding out I could not purchase them from the LUMI link, I have found the exact things offered elsewhere, and I have ordered four of the items. Upon receipt, the clothing has never been top quality and look very cheap, although they are not.
The last, and what will be my final, piece I ordered was a pair of striped blue pants. They looked wonderful in the LUMI app. I ordered small, which was the smallest offered. If I had not looked at the tag inside to verify the size, after putting them on, I would have thought they mistakenly sent a large. Nope, small. These pants were huge in every sense. The “waist” could easily pull up to meet my bra line. It sure is not at my waist. I am a perfect size small in most clothes I have purchased. I wear a 4 from Talbot’s and J. Crew with none of the issues found with this purchase. If I am able to buy 4p, the length is perfect. Being 5’2”, I am prepared to have to shorten things that aren’t “petite.” However, with these pants, the length was about 6 inches too long. The most I have ever had to hem pants in regular sizes has been 4 inches. Frankly, when I opened the package, I thought I had possibly ordered something cheap on Amazon. Nope, on LUMI. $157. If I saw them in a store, I would never buy them. It’s too bad it wasn’t from Amazon because their return policy favors the buyer and it is easy and you are protected, unlike what it appears your experience will be with LUMI. The waist itself is about 4 inches too large. The waist line for a small always fit me.
I am in the process of requesting a refund, which appears from the LUMI app to be a tedious process. It also states that I might be responsible for shipping costs to return them — so I have to pay for something mis-sized? (Made by Meshki - buyer beware!)
So the items I have purchased, which were recommended by LUMI, are sized wrong, cheap looking, and relatively expensive for what is offered with, it appears, possibly no chance of return or challenging returns. And possibly you have to pay return shipping. I
am not returning these because I just don’t like them. If they fit, I would keep them and wear them. Note: these pants are so mis-sized, a tailor I spoke to says it would not be financially savvy to try to fit them to me, or any person who wears a small.
The items suggested by LUMI have not been available and/or not available in my size, although LUMI has my sizes on file and nothing should be suggested to me if it is not available in my size. I will never waste my time with this app again. I will also attempt to get a refund for my payment for this totally junk app.

Struggled with the app but all became clear after a consultation with Kiara who listened and was very considered in her recommendations.

Being somewhat computer UNsavvy... I messed up my subscription. I wrote to customer services and was highly delighted at the speed and quality of the response.
All sorted within a day!!

What I liked: options to build a capsule wardrobe and helpful articles. Visually seeing ideas of pieces that work together has given me some ideas about how to use pieces I already own and plan to buy a few suggested pieces. Meeting with Kiara the stylist was the most helpful thing since I had read the articles but misinterpreted my color type and body shape.
What I don’t like: the ai generated articles have some errors and the app can be difficult to navigate. Many items in my capsule suggestions are quickly out of stock.

Listened, and cancelled my subscription, as requested. I would say they are honest brokers and I appreciate it.
Thank you

I'm questioning the archetype and would like to see others. I'm seeing outfits I like that are not Sage.

The personal stylist appointment I had with Kiara was WONDERFUL. It made the LUMI experience more exciting and real. She helped me see a few pieces that would work for my style and life, after I explained to her about myself. It was really lovely talking to a professional and she was super sweet.
