Thankful for the Lux team! Great guidance for my sophomore daughter. I appreciate how easy it is to reach them and how much they advise things with honesty, and often contrary to their interests (e.g. pairing my daughter with a mentor outside of Lux for SAT). Great, honest company

My husband and I applied to college 29 years ago, when the admissions landscape was nowhere as competitive. We wanted the best for our son, and hired Lux. They promised me that not only would they bring the result, but would make the entire process fun and stress-free for our kid.

I'm grateful to my son's mentor for being so calming and supportive during this process. They've since become close friends, and Lux became a trusted advisor to our kid's education journey.

The one disclosure is that Lux recommended us to find another company for test prep (which I found honorable since it was against their interests. But they were honest in disclosing that other companies would be able to do test prep for less). But Lux was able to take care of everything else, with a special focus on the letters of recommendations, essays, and my son's narrative. We are grateful for Lux and so happy that our daughter will be joining his mentor at Yale this fall.

At first, we were a little unsure about working with a near-peer consultant—most families at our private school went with former admissions officers. But we’re so glad we ended up with Maddy at Lux Admissions. Choosing someone closer in age to our daughter turned out to be exactly what she needed!
Maddy brought a level of thoughtfulness, professionalism, and genuine care that truly made a difference! She connected with our daughter in a way we’d only seen her do with close friends and cousins. Maddy and Lux challenged our daughter to dig deeper in a way that was genuine while still remaining people she could feel comfortable talking to. I deeply appreciated how she helped my daughter truly believe in herself, even in moments of doubt, burnout, and disorganization. We always felt like we were in the best possible hands! In the end, our daughter was accepted to Yale (her dream school!) and we genuinely believe Maddy’s steady guidance played a major role in getting her there.

My son worked with a Lux mentor last year, and my daughter is working with one for this cycle. They're relatively expensive compared to market price. But from what I can tell, this group of college seniors and recent grads are exceptionally talented, caring, and competent. My son went to a competitive private high school where the counselor was frankly mean and underestimated him to a pretty mediocre school. But his Lux mentor walked him through every part of the application, even staying up late when he had an idea to revise the essay. The price is expensive but worth it for us, especially since we used another company that was as expensive but not as attentive.

We're very grateful that Lux pushed my son higher and expected higher from the start. He got into Stanford, UVA, and Brown, and I'm now a happy Brown parent. Thank you to the team and I'll recommend with my friends.

Will and Lux Admissions promised to get us into one of my son Jacob's top three choice. They delivered! Jacob was just admitted into Princeton early. Thank you to the team for all of their work. We've switched around quite a bit so it was certainly a relief finding Lux.
