Overall we are very happy about our trip in Perù with Luxury Perù Travel, that we find very reliable and capable to handle such a complex organization.
I recap here below the main pros and cons of our journey
PROS
- tour well organized and scheduled by Diana, especially the suggestion to revisit Macchu Picchu on a second day that made our vacation really unforgettable.
- guides very well prepared, passionate, polite and nice.
- accommodations nice and fancy.
A special mention to Andre in Cuzco, Beto in Machu Picchu and Masiell from Puno to Arequipa, their service was precious. A special thank to David as well, whose help and availability were crucial when we had an hard time in Puno.
CONS (just one 😉)
- we should have been better advised about the health issue due to the flying from Lima straight to Cuzco; we were the only tourists to travel this way and all the locals we talked to agreed it was a very bad idea (I got sick indeed)

We enjoyed our trip immensely. With my husband’s health, we knew that a trip to Peru, especially Machu Picchu, would be a big challenge for him, but with the planning that The Luxury Peru Travel Company did for us, we were able to enjoy every moment of the trip and return home with meaningful memories.

Diana created an itinerary for us that matched my requirements perfectly. The information prior to our trip enabled me to prepare for it and the help and advice from Diana was excellent. The attention to detail throughout my visit was exemplary. Everything was taken care of and I really did not have to think or worry about a single thing. Thank you :)

My wife and I really enjoyed our time in Peru. From the moment we arrived in Peru till the moment we left we felt that Luxury did a wonderful job with all the details. All our transfers were on time and friendly. Our tour guides in all our locations were super helpful and informative. Booking with Luxury was worth every penny so we did not have to do any guesswork. My 1st trip to Peru and it was a wonderful experience. Everything was so organized and well planned I didn’t have to worry about anything! Constant communication the whole trip . The tour guides , drivers and assistants made me very welcomed . I would definitely use Luxury Peru Travel again

Every one of our guides during our 12-day adventure in Peru was excellent; we were amazed at how seamlessly all our transfers, hand-offs, and transportation were managed. The itinerary was excellent and we learned so much about each of the stops on the way, the cultural highlights, and the history of each part of the country.

This company had done a fabulous job for us.
The guides and the drivers were always on time, very informed and good attitude, never a problem at all, all the accommodation were what we expected.

What made our experience great was the itinerary Luxury Peru helped us to plan. It included the city of Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and the jungle, and they assisted us all along the way with personal adjustments to our agenda. The guides and drivers were friendly, dependable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The lodging was superb and all the places we visited were rich in history and beauty. There were two scheduling snags - we arrived at Machu Picchu without time to take the tour and enable us to catch the train back to Cusco. Luckily, Luvy gave us an impromptu personal tour. There was also confusion upon our arrival in Lima with the timing of our tour to Pachacamac the following day as was pre-planned. Also, on our free day in Lima, it was recommended by our guide that we visit three museums; the Gold Museum, Almano Museum, and the Larco Museum. The Gold and Almano Museums could have easily been skipped as they were small, involved much time to get there, and similar displays could be seen at the Larco. Concerning Peru in general, the food was not nearly as good as we expected (the lunch on the train was inedible) and the traffic in Lima was a nightmare but was skillfully maneuvered by the excellent drivers with whom we were provided. All in all, the trip was historically enriching, culturally inspiring, and scenically breathtaking.

Absolutely the most amazing trip ever!!! Everything was perfect from start to finish. It is such a pleasure to work with a company that completely takes care of every detail to make it a special trip! I could not have asked for better service, better hotels, or better tours. Top notch in every aspect. Guides were amazing and so knowledgeable. We learned so many new facts and saw things we never imagined! The Best of the Best is how our entire group felt!

From the moment we were in contact to the day we left; everything was perfect. The recommendations, the communication; everything flowed perfectly.

We had a great trip of a lifetime!

The arrangements, hotels, transport, and guides were all terrific. The recommendation for Aqua Expeditions Aria was fantastic and a great way to end the trip.

Things to improve on: the booking agent could improve communication and attention to detail. There were some confusing/erroneous things in the draft itineraries. Also I would not take the Vistadome train again, I would prefer Hiram Bingham. Vistadome doesn’t meet a luxury definition and the end terminal location added over 1 hr to our travels to Cusco. We were an hour late to our destination. Also it would have been nice to have individual reservations rather than the whole group under one name and the option for upgraded flight seats (exit row, or front of cabin).

Diana was always very prompt in responding to my gazillion enquirers, also accommodated a change during the tour on a 24 hr notice- tour a little pricey but I would say worth it - as I had absolutely no worries during the tour - all guides / drivers were readily identifiable and very pleasant.

Each hotel the Luxury Travel Company selected was a masterpiece of comfort and elegance, ensuring that our rest was as memorable as our days of adventure. The itineraries crafted were a perfect blend of scenic beauty, cultural immersion, and leisure, allowing us to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Machu Picchu and the vibrant life of Cusco at our own pace but with expert guidance.

The level of detail in the planning was astounding – from ensuring timely transfers to providing a lineup of activities that catered to our interests and comfort levels. Every trip aspect was thoughtfully curated to provide a seamless and stress-free experience.

A few days before our tour a strike occured along the railway to Machu Picchu. However Diana re booked our time to ensure we still had a great time. The tour guide we were assigned was amazing. In hindsight I think we actually had a better time..

Overall, we had a great experience with Luxury Peru Travel. Communication with our consultant, David, was relatively seamless. The trip required minimum effort on our part - LPT took care of everything. We were met at every airport and train station and driven in excellent transportation. We loved our vacation - it was a terrific adventure.
That said, there were a few miscommunications and hiccups that LPT may want to be more aware of.
1. We only had one day in Lima, and of course we wanted to go to one of its famous restaurants in the evening. I was concerned though that the gourmet tour during the day would be too filling, and I suggested a change of plan for that day. David responded that "The Gourmet tour is not all about eating I don’t think you will be full for sure , don’t forget that most of our clients do this tour then go on later in the evening to eat , at at the places you have mentioned, so I wouldn’t worry about it at all." As it turned out, the gourmet tour was extremely filling - a series of tastings followed by a full, and late lunch. Even skipping much of the food we were very full.
2. In general the hotels were excellent (though there's a huge variety in what counts as "5 star" in Peru). But I would have liked to be better prepared for our visit to the Amazon region. Our hotel (Inkaterra) was listed as "4-star", but it was nothing like a typical 4-star hotel. There was no A/C, and in fact there was only electricity about half the time. Again, when I discovered this shortly before our departure (it was 35 degrees C and 95% humidity), David assured me: "No it’s fine it doesn’t have electricity as you and other guests are out most of the day , no air con !!! Now that’s not geeen ! So no :)" Again, this was a little misleading. In addition to the power being off during the day, it was also off much of the night. We had a great experience in the Amazon, but customers should be forewarned: you will be uncomfortable and sweat a lot! That said, the food was great at Inkaterra, we loved our cabin in the jungle, and - contrary to the info in the LPT package - there was in fact internet in the main cabin so long as there was electricity.
3. I mentioned that there’s a big range among the “5-star” hotels. We stayed at the GHL Puno hotel at Lake Titicaca, which would not rate as even 3-star in most places I’ve been. Very dated, small, cramped rooms, lethargic service. Good food though. There was an unfortunate smell all around the hotel (and inside) – not their fault – that area of the lake is polluted, and there was no rain so it dried out and left a fetid mud bank around the hotel.
4. There were a couple of instances of miscommunication between LPT and the local travel guides. For the most part our guides were great, but they didn’t always have the same information we had in our itinerary. For example, at Lake Titicaca we went on a different boat from the one named in the itinerary, and our day did not include a visit to the Capachica peninsula as promised in the itinerary. Nor would it have included the “pachamanca” lunch had I not pointed out the discrepancy to our guide, who then arranged for us to eat that lunch while everyone else ate something different – a little awkward. The next day, in Colca Valley, I was careful to compare notes with the guide. She did not have one of the itinerary destinations in there, but kindly added it for us.
5. I requested twin beds throughout, and reconfirmed that with David before departure. For whatever reason, the last two nights we were given king beds. The first time we lived with it. The second, we had them check their reservation record, which clearly stated “king bed” – i.e. there was a communication breakdown between LPT and the hotel. They changed our room, but to a significantly inferior one with twin beds.
I know that’s a lot of nitpicking, but thought it might be useful for the LPT staff to be aware of these issues. Again, overall this was a fantastic experience.

What an excellent company, from planning to executing everything . Service and attention to the details is what is really standing out. We can’t wait to start planning another Peru trip again with this great company .
