Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 26 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found that the products received were of poor quality, often made from cheap materials like polyester, and did not match the descriptions or images on the website. Customers also reported issues with incorrect sizing and discovered that items were often manufactured in China, despite the website implying UK origin. Reviewers consistently faced significant difficulties when attempting to return items or obtain refunds, often encountering non-existent return addresses or being told returns were not accepted. Some people were dissatisfied with the refund process, as companies sometimes offered only partial refunds or replacements, and customers were often expected to cover high return shipping costs to China.

One star review is too generous. SCAM! Wasted too much energy trying to return poorly made dress to a bogus address. May they all rot in hell whilst wearing their cheap polyester clothing

Poorly cut and ill-fitting

The two garments ordered were unsuitable for me. Being very restricted physically, I need more generous cutting around the shoulders and upper arms. Customer service were very unhelpful and tried to impose limitations on my reclaim for two dresses. I am in correspondence with them about this, and have told them that their reply was unlawful. If I had googled them in advance, I would never have placed an order with them at all. Since my initial review, I have been given an address in China which I am unable to verify, to which I must return the garments by registered post. Until receipt, they will not issue a refund. I paid by credit card, so hope that this will cover me. This business is one huge scam to be avoided at all costs!

Fraudulent claims

This manufacturer in China (Yunling-lingwen) is going under the name Northline Studio in Canada. Website identical (Northline Studio.com) to Lyla’s Stitches with claims of Canada owned and 30 day money back guarantee. Received clothing with no label whatsoever- cheap polyester, I’m sure it would ignite in the hot sun.

These people set a new low for customer service. They REALLY do not care if you are happy, as long as they keep your money!

Every trick in the book to sell cheap merchandise and not provide a refund. The cotton-blend fabric was actually 95% poly, 5%, scratchy and uncomfortable. When I asked for a refund, the email back and forth started. July 9: Would I send a copy of the label. July 9: Sorry, need to coordinate response with team. July 10: Sorry, still coordinating. July 16: Would you like to keep the dress, get a partial refund and a discount on the next order? July 17, Sorry, the factory uses whatever fabric they want, do I want a partial refund and a discount on next order. July 18: Sorry, would you accept a replacement and a gift voucher. if you want a refund I can walk you through the steps. Jul 19 Sorry, would you accept a partial refund. If you want a full refund I can help you do that. I respect your decision, but all fees associated with the return are the customer's responsibility.
Jul 19 Saturday nite several minutes before July 20: Based on order being delivered July 7, the return needs to be sent out by July 21.
July 20, me to them: This address is not properly formatted. Send me an address the way it needs to be formatted to get to your location. Thanks.

Don't order from this company!

Don't order from this company!! I really liked the styles they showed and it seems like it was from a small seller. The dresses arrived and they were too small and I thought I had made a mistake in sizing. I asked to exchange for a larger size. They said I could order the larger size for 80% off and keep the dresses. So replacing 3 dresses cost me $40. I wasn't too worried so far. Well the next set of dresses arrived. One doesn't look anything like what I ordered and says "made in china". I finally notice that the stitching on the other dress is not like the photo. That's when I looked it up and realized it's a scam. And based on the other reviews I'm not going to bother asking for a refund. Such a let down and an awful company.

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

I was so looking forward to my delivery but I was so disappointed. The material was a cheap polyester. Pockets almost under armpits. Label saying made in China the website leads you to believe made in UK. I wish I hadn't wasted my money and read reviews first....lesson learnt. After reading issues with trying to get refunds I will put down to a learning experience.

Absolutely horrible

Absolutely horrible. Sizing and material are wrong and the entire website is misleading. All this stuff comes from China. Not by Lyla. Terrible. Don't waist you money.

Potential scam

Potential scam? According to their website they are a small boutique brand and basically it’s cheap garments made of man made fabric that are from China or similar. Not worth the money and don’t meet any of the descriptions on the website. I contacted them for a return and was told that all they could offer was a 120% value voucher for a replacement from their website. In the U.K. there are rights where by law you can request a full refund and they are not meeting this at all. If there was a zero they would score this. I’m going to report this to Trading Standards in the U.K. as it seems that they are not trading in line with U.K. law for consumer protection. Don’t order from them. If you have paid by credit card raise a dispute with your provider and they can claw back the money for you.

Calculated Scam - AI, Lies, and No Refunds

This is a fraudulent operation. Avoid them.

Key facts:
The website has only existed since February 2025.
The clothing images appear to be AI-generated.
Customer service communication is handled by an automated AI system, not a person.

My aunt purchased the "MALAGA DRESS". Upon requesting a return for a full refund, the company refused to provide a postal address.

Instead, their automated system, "Lyla", repeatedly ignored the request and made a series of escalating offers designed to prevent a refund:

A 70% gift card.
A 15% partial refund and a 50% discount code.
A 20% partial refund and a 70% discount code.

The scam's model is to sell what appears to be good apparel, then send a token low-quality item then make returns and refunds impossible by wearing customers down. This experience is mirrored by numerous other negative reviews on this platform, many of whom note that returns must eventually be sent to China at the customer's expense.

This is not a legitimate retail business. It is a calculated scam.

Deceptive Returns Policy – Beware

I ordered from Lyla’s Stitches believing it was a small UK brand, based on an Instagram ad and their website’s claims about “handcrafted” garments and a “lifetime guarantee.” What I received was a cheaply made dress shipped from China.

Only after asking for a refund did they reveal I’d have to return it to a Chinese warehouse at my own cost — something never disclosed before purchase. They stalled with partial refund offers and unnecessary photo requests, clearly trying to wear me down.

I had to start the chargeback process with my bank and inform the company. Only then, after 20 back-and-forth emails, did they finally agree to issue a full refund.

Avoid unless you’re prepared to deal with misleading returns and poor service.

This company are deceiving customers…

This company are deceiving customers into buying bad quality and cheap dresses under the pretence of specialising styles for larger women. Totally not what they send when you buy. Offer you 15% refund when you try to return, or a 75% ( gift card)! Do not buy from them, they should be banned from trading. Would give a minus score if available

I would rate this a zero star if I…

I would rate this a zero star if I could. The website is misleading at best in its description of the clothes. Their returns policy is not transparent and eventually they tell you to return to a Chinese warehouse (after a long tedious email trail). Customer services are not helpful.

I would strongly advise not to use this website unless you want substandard clothing not as described and certainly not handmade and if you don’t intend to return the items.

Don’t buy from Lyla’s Stitches!

The dress is ordered is not the dress I received, which might have been okay if it had fit well. It didn’t. They made the “Return for a full refund” process so frustrating that I finally gave up and settled for a 20% of my purchase refund, along with a discount for my next purchase. There won’t be a next purchase, so I just threw away money on a dress I can’t wear. Don’t buy from Lyla’s Stitches unless a.) you like all their styles AND you’re positive the dress will fit (you don’t know which dress you will actually receive, or b.) you don’t mind wasting money.

1 is too high a rating

1 is too high a rating! What turned up was nothing like the order. Contacted the seller with photos and was offered 15% refund with a 50% discount. Refused and asked about returns, was given an address in China. Cost to return with the proof they request is £25++. Have now contacted Trading Standards and Citizens Advice. How can these scams be allowed to operate??

Bought two dresses in 5X

Bought two dresses in 5X. They were FAR too small. Contacted seller, and over the course of a week was offered various discounts on other merchandise instead of a refund. “You can keep the dresses,” they said. What good are two dresses that I cannot wear? Why would I buy more merchandise when the first order is so small? Finally, they agreed to let me ship the dresses back. TO CHINA. If I had known this was a Chinese maker, I’d never have bought to begin with. Needless to say, shipping was almost half the cost of my purchase. I finally and unhappily accepted a 40% refund and kept the dresses.

I tried to give the dresses to two friends, sizes 3x and 2x respectively… and the dresses didn’t fit them, either. Garbage. I spent close to $100 on garbage. Very displeased. Don’t make my mistake!

Deceptive sizing

Deceptive sizing, dishonest return policy – avoid at all costs

I ordered 3 dresses advertised as 4XL, but all arrived fitting like standard XL. This is blatant misrepresentation, not a sizing preference issue. Their website claims “easy returns” and never discloses that you'd have to ship items to China at your expense.

I contacted support (GVP Commerce via Re:amaze) and was offered a 50% refund—but told to “keep or donate” items I can’t use. That’s not acceptable.

I’ve filed a dispute with Mastercard and submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. This company misleads customers and should not be trusted.

Don’t fall for the inclusive marketing—what you receive is not what’s advertised.
