I had to return my order because the color of the sweater did not at all match the item shown on their website. Maison de Monaco now refuses to payback the shipping costs which is a requirement under EU consumer protection laws.
Update following MdM response -
Re the return costs - as I let MdM know by email, it doesn’t matter what is stated on your website on the return costs, the law simply requires you to pay back the costs if I return a full order. Just check the site of the ACM or Consumentenbond.
Re the color of the sweater: I always use the official website to check a color as images on social media regularly use filters etc. Companies usually make sure that colors match to minimize returns. Although minimal differences in color can of course happen, in this case it was substantial. Your website showed a bright blue color (‘yellow undertone’) whereas the real color was close to teal (green undertone).

Extremely Disappointed – No Response and No Refund
I’m very disappointed with my experience with Maison de Monaco. I placed an order on the 25th of march that was never delivered, and I still haven’t received a full refund for it. Maison de Monaco informed me that they received my purchace but they are ghosting me regarding the refund.
Despite several messages on Instagram DM I will HAVE to now proceed with reporting the incident to my bank for a chargeback and escalate the matter to the relevant legal and consumer protection authorities (EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU). I demand a full refund of 72.20 euros.
This level of customer service is unacceptable. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I would strongly recommend avoiding this company until they seriously improve how they handle customer issues. I expected better.

Atrocious
Atrocious - don’t shop with them. Customer service are rude and arrogant if / when they decide to reply. I ordered a hoodie on 7 December. I eventually received it on 31 st Dec 2024 so after Xmas. I had to pay £18 customs tax (about which I was unaware at the time of ordering) on top of 10 euro delivery charge. Shipping costs were almost as expensive as hoodie. Under MM ‘s policy, I am apparently unable to return because of customs tax, despite my statutory rights. Avoid this company. I would question how genuine the recent 5 star reviews are in view of my terrible experience and that of many others.

With regard to MM's response below to my complaint above:
1. it took MM 24 days to deliver the item- this is unacceptable. It was supposed to be a Christmas present. MM fails to address this.
2. MM told me that the hoodie had been delivered on 24/12 ie they were accusing me of making untrue allegations. However, MM was referring to the wrong order and disclosed another customers details to me - breach of the data protection act. No apology was received for this.
3. as MM explained to me when they eventually condescended to provide a substantive response, MM's policy states that if taxes or duties are due and the customer rejects the package because of this, "we will not pay for the returning shipping cost and that means the package will be destroyed in this way you will not get a refund."
The taxes were never disclosed to me prior to ordering and this is an entirely unreasonable and unlawful position to take. Again, do not use this site. Absolute rip off.

Also After reply from Maison de Monaco on my Trust Pilot Evaluation there was again on reaction to my new Message via their Instagram Channel. I really contact them so many times via their contact Formular at their Homepage as well as via Instagram! No reaction!! I paid but didn‘t get it (because DPD was unable to deliver it to their own Pickup Store!! My Adress as well as the adress of Pickup Store was correct and the Store was everytime at the delivery Time open!!).
Maison de Monaco didn‘t do anything to contact me to solve the Problem…Just cashed in! :-(

I am compelled to share my frustrating experience with Maison De Monaco, a brand I once held in high regard. My ordeal began with a simple request for a refund, which has unfortunately spiraled into a prolonged and disheartening struggle.
Despite my efforts to communicate promptly and provide all necessary information, my request for a refund has been met with an alarming lack of urgency and professionalism. Initial contact was made on November 27, 2023, yet here I am, weeks later, without any resolution. The brand's response has been sporadic and largely ineffective, with promises made and not kept.
This situation is not just about a delayed refund; it's about the basic principles of customer service and trust. Customers expect and deserve clear communication, swift action, and respect - all of which have been noticeably absent in my dealings with Maison De Monaco.
I have been patient and understanding, hoping for a swift and fair resolution. However, the continuous delay and lack of concrete action from Maison De Monaco have left me with no choice but to share my experience publicly. It's disheartening to see a brand fail so significantly in addressing a customer's legitimate concerns.
I urge Maison De Monaco to not only address my situation with the urgency it demands but also to revisit their customer service policies and practices. No customer should have to endure such an ordeal for a basic right as a refund.
To potential customers, I advise caution. The products might be enticing, but the after-sales service, based on my experience, is deeply lacking.
