Great products and friendly service
The service was amazing they're helpful and the products quality were amazing thank you so much.
I purchased ceramic plates from Malika Linens, and unfortunately, they have a major flaw—they never fully dry. If you stack them in a kitchen cabinet, mold starts to grow on them. When I reached out to the company, their response was shocking: “That’s just the nature of the clay. You need to dry them in the sun and place kitchen paper between them.”
Who has the time and energy for that? Plates should be functional, not high-maintenance. I expected better quality and practicality. Definitely would not recommend unless you’re willing to put in extra work just to keep your plates usable.
Over the past 1.5 years, we have ordered products from Malaika for more than €1'000 in total: Bedding items, vases, plates, towels, accessories, etc.
While there are many unique, beautiful, handmade products (especially the Egyptian artisan objects) and it seems the company cares about ethics, quality and sustainability, we unfortunately had a very poor experience with their bedding items.
Just after less than one year, the complete white bedding set ripped entirely (duvet cover, sheet & pillow cases). For a set price of almost 500€, this is very disappointing. When writing to the customer service and even sending all our items for inspection, Malaika tried to argue that chlorine bleach was used. When in fact, as an ecologically-conscious and chemical-sensitive household, only soft, organic washing detergents were used. Also the information that we have other sets from Tekla & Fischbacher (both premium cotton as well) that are not affected at all, didn't interest Malaika much. It was simply ignored.
The solution offered (after many weeks waiting time) was then a discount of 50% if we buy a new set – something we obviously we wouldn't do if we are unhappy with the quality. The request for a refund was also declined.
It is such a pity that this issue was handled in such a way, especially taking into account that Malaika sees itself as a sustainable, ethical company with luxury, high-quality standards.
