Lost my £60 worth, beacuse they uses amazon yo deliver, and on the phone twice, told me that Amazon delivery were incompetent, that they have to give out early delivery alert, 2h early then, 3-4 h the parcel will turn up, twice in 2 easy they told me.
They have no interest in looking for the parcel, no interest in email me back, but o save their reputation on ebay, even though I order from thir website, they quickly reply back on ebay with the same excuses, parcel deliver, but yet no photo. Lazy company, give the chance of coming and lying they will. You might have 20 good review but take my review as they dont give af, about your missingbparcel, if they can get away with it they csn,but crying wolf telling 6iu that the business Been run for many years, is not their fault. Full of unprofessional who, instead of act on your incompetent and change your way, they continue to blame other. Don't buy your food from this company. Yiu can get cheaper better quality from other business. Your missing parcel will be your own tracking, to fine ot yourself. This company certainly have shown thir true colour. Unprofessional.

Found this company after buying their products on Amazon.. they sell directly from their store. And is delivered by Amazon.
This is the third time I’ve place an order from them,once with Amazon and twice directly from their online store. They are brilliant goods dispatched next day and delivery the day after.
Amazing value for money compared with the vast majority of other sellers I find Maltbys to be around 50-100% cheaper.
Great value and true weights and measures..
I highly recommend this seller. Will be visiting again for my bird and squirrel feeds.

Great Service and Value
I ordered 2 15kg bags of no-mess bird food direct from Maltbys on the Thursday before Good Friday and it arrived today, Saturday, (ie. within 2 days) (via Amazon delivery). Great service and the best value I can find for the large amount we use.
Poor customer service…
Previously been happy with purchases from Maltby Stores but recently purchased three items through eBay and only one arrived. Messaged them via eBay. They asked me to check the bag (?) which I obviously had already done. I wasn’t asking for a refund as I actually want the items so wanted them to send them. I got no reply but then just randomly got refunded for the two missing items. So they couldn’t be bothered to actually resend them to me and couldn’t be bothered to even reply to me to apologise for the items not being sent. Really poor customer service, made me feel silly for purchasing from them because there are cheaper places to buy bird seed but I previously liked them and wanted to support them. Clearly they don’t really value customers.
Maltbys stores have really let me down big time
I have been a regular shopper at Maltbys for a couple of years and never had a problem until now.
Paid for 15kg bag of seed which has been ‘out for delivery’ for 5 days with Royal Mail.
Royal Mail have no record of the item
MALTBYS ARE SAYING A COURIER is delivering it and there might be a delay. I have provided Maltbys with the tracking number they sent me - a Royal Mail tracking number - and asked them to look into it.
They have so far replied that I can only contact them again after 9pm when couriers usually finish delivery
They really don’t seem like they are interested in keeping my business or their reputation for safe delivery of purchases

Absolutely brilliant! Great customer service. Just best you can imagine. Ordered special dog food. One I received had only 3 weeks left on date. Only couple of hours after my email about my disappointment, I've got even more than originaly ordered on the way to me. Received it next day!
Ordered 10kg of peanut nibs
Ordered 10kg of peanut nibs, they delivered whole peanuts! went onto Ebay to advise the seller, only to have to go to the trouble of taking a picture, downloading it then to be advised I had to print off a return label for ME to send back! not happy at all that I should have to lug 10kg of weight down to the post office, and can't park close by! because they can't pick the right item and send it out! won't buy from them again!!

Markedly varying quality
Two stars not one because I have been a loyal customer for a while and haven't had issues before now. However, my recent order of peanuts was poor quality - around a fifth of them had black parts and/or were diseased or extremely hard and shrivelled. The first response from customer services was some copied and pasted information ending with the recommendation to offer the peanuts 'to the best judges of all, your garden birds'. However I am not happy feeding my local birds and foxes with nuts that could negatively impact their health. The second response was an offer of a 10% discount or to return the peanuts. I said I would like to return them and would like a label and for collection to be arranged as the product was such poor quality. I then got an email requesting photos of the peanuts even though I had already sent photos. I sent them again and had to nudge for a response after another 11 days. After 11 different emails back and forth, Maltby's offered me a 50% discount which I accepted, to be honest, because I felt worn down trying to fight for a full refund. I hoped to sort through the peanuts for ones that felt good enough but this is obviously a hassle. The general sense I got was of Maltby's not believing me (their mention of others not having an issue, for example). They have lost a regular customer.

Terrible Website
Well, I hate to write a bad review about this lovely old family business, but they really do need to make an effort to bring certain aspects of the business up-to-date. Their website desperately needs updating: you will need a day off to order an item. I had to use the phone to them eventually in deperation! Try and amend an order requires the patience of an elephant; I really wonder whether anyone over th age of 50 could work with this website; also, trying to pay with paypal just doesn't work for me: I am sent back and have to start the whole ordering process over again.
I would say that my wild birds have always loved their bird seed and their free deliveries have been always been fine. My favourite was a seed and nut combination but it seemed to suddenly disappear from the website!
