False misrepresentation lured me into a contract with Robinson
My review is based entirely on my personal experience, my own court case, and publicly available information.
I did not originally intend to write a review because the situation already consumed more than a year of my life as I was gathering documentation, attending hearings, and supporting other individuals who reported similar concerns, and I just want it all to be behind me. However, due to ongoing posts from Robinson referring namelessly to me and my fellow claimants that I believe misrepresent my experience, I feel it is necessary to share my side so that others can make informed decisions.
I was a former client of Marco Robinson (legal name: Mark Lawrence Robinson). I was one of the claimants who brought a civil small-claims case against him in the UK. The court ruled in my favor. The judgment found that the contract between us was void due to FALSE MISREPRESENTATION, and Mr. Robinson was ordered to pay the judgment amount, including interest and fees. Robinson did not "reimburse" me as he claimed online. He paid court ruled judgement. There is a difference. My comments here relate solely to what occurred in my own case and are supported by the court documents.
Mr. Robinson has discussed this case publicly, but his description of the outcome has not always matched the proceedings. Although he emphasizes that this was a civil matter and not a criminal one, that is correct. I (we) pursued a civil claim only simple due to the costs of legal proceedings. That does not change the fact that the judge found MISREPRESENTATION occurred in the context of our contract.
I have dealt with three different legal representations of Robinson during this civil court case back-to-back. In public posts, Mr. Robinson has also referenced law firm Atticus Law, but the court still ruled in my favor (and the other claimants’ favor) based on the evidence I provided.
I want to clarify that I am not a competitor, nor do I run any coaching business. I work as an author, and at the time, I was the one who proposed a multi-author collaboration idea to Robinson as part of the project I believed we were developing and submitted a written plan to him about his. This was back in early 2024.
Certain claims made by Robinson to me and shared publicly online were not supported by the documentation ultimately presented in court, and the judge’s ruling reflected that. For example. Robinson shares information publicly about money he put into an escrow account with his lawyer for executive producer credit of Legacy of Lies. Ultimately it was proven at court that the contract amount was never delivered to the film production, and his executive producer contract was void. He does not appear in the film credits or IMDB. He is not a Netflix producer, that was also proven at court.
Regarding film credentials, I encourage anyone considering purchasing services to independently verify all professional claims, credits, or accomplishments through reliable industry sources. Look at Legacy of Lies’ rolling credits or check the movie’s credits on IMDB. Robinson is only credited as Burns, a minor character in the movie. Look up his current and former companies on UK government websites. Ask for references from former partners and clients of Robinson including his restaurant business, private gentleman club business, crypto currency business, film production involvement, coaching business, book publishing business, or any other business he lists on his website publicly.
I am aware of others who have shared experiences similar to mine, some of which were publicly referenced by journalism outlets. However, in this review I am speaking strictly for myself and about my own documented interactions.
My intention is not to be "vindictive", but to provide an honest account so that future clients can make well-informed decisions. I pursued justice through the proper legal channels and won my case. So did the others. I hope sharing my experience helps others conduct their due diligence before entering into any agreement.
