Reward with no responsibility
I attended a webinar hosted by Ranjeet Singh of marketinsider.uk He claimed that he is going to make 28% on his investments this year even though we are just a little over half way through.
The small print at the bottom of his email said that they were not authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority so they did not give advice but the whole thrust of the presentation was showing how to make the same returns as them.
Near the end he used the sales trick of standing room only by offering a discount on their charges if people signed up that evening. After the webinar I emailed them asking to unsubscribe. This morning I had a phone call from them looking for business.
I informed the person that I had unsubscribed to which they replied that that was only from emails! Some people might conclude this company is giving investment advice and charging for it but not accepting any responsibility for the results.
If that's the case then they might say it's an example of having your cake and eating it.
