Sneaky company

My friend invited me for a free meal box, so I ordered to try it out. After a week, €50 was debited by direct debit. It is not clearly stated anywhere that you automatically switch to a subscription if you do not unsubscribe. Very sneaky!! I immediately contacted customer service, but they were unable to cancel the order. Ridiculous, I don't recommend it.

When you sign up, you have a membership with us from the start. However, you can sign up with a voucher that gets you the first box for free and after that the other boxes will be charged. We indicate this during registration and is also mentioned in the terms and conditions. I'm sorry to hear that this was still not clear enough!

This company is fraudulent

This company is fraudulent. We’ve tried to cancel twice now, and they make it so difficult, that the boxes keep coming. You go through the cancellation process on the website and it seems like you’ve done it, but it doesn’t work. Even called and they made it difficult. Must be the only way they can make money because the food is terrible.

Good recipes, excessive on the cucumbers

The recipes were mostly good, our order is consistently delivered around the same time every week.

I was pleased that there weren't any cucumbers this week. There is a tendency to put cucumbers in every recipe- I guess because they're cheap? And now my partner and I are starting to hate cucumbers.

4 stars because we're getting more cucumbers next week, apparently they go on burgers too now.

About a third of the ingredients were rotten

About a third of the ingredients were unusable within a few days of receiving the delivery. Issues ranged from rotten chicken and a severely mouldy courgette to out of date ingredients that we weren't going to take the risk on.

What's more is it is a complete pain when all of the ingredients, for five meals, are thrown loose in a box - which also means various things get bruised & squashed.

My first time and also the last…

This is My first time and also the last time. I go back to hellofresh instead.

The meal is too small for 4 adults and really not enough veggie for us. And ingredients portions are ridiculous. It doesn't make sense, seriously 1 small sauce bag for 4 person and for 2 person is also the same small sauce bag... the food isn't tasty afterall, especially the curry one.

Not happy at all! Very disappointed.

I wanted Marley spoon because of Martha…

I wanted Marley spoon because of Martha Stewart. Recipes were great but vegetables were inferior and packaging leaked on everything. I live in Saranac Lake ,NY one of the coldest places,and my proteins were warm and thawed. Afraid to eat them unfortunately

Always pasta with mushrooms

Everytime I don't select the meal for a week, they always send pasta with mushrooms.
We are allergic to mushrooms, and we can't add allergies on the menus so we stop receiving mushrooms. And again always pasta with mushrooms.

Highly recommend if you want a good quality subscription meal box.

We have been using Marley Spoon since August and we are absolutely satisfied with everything. Ingredients are always fresh with satisfying expiry dates, delivery on time with track and trace and yet we haven't found anything missing as opposed to well known competitors, which we had to cancel because every order was missing key ingredients.
Menu is so diverse it is incredible and for us that we moved to NL from Greece, having in the menu so many Greek inspired dishes as a choice, is a fantastic surprise. Recipes are easy, well made and much more healthy than other competitors use, with options of low calories, low carb, low gluten and low dairy. With someone like me with IBS this is a savior. If things continue like this, we will definitely keep Marley Spoon as our meal box subscription for a long time.

SCAM COMPANY! Bad customer service

I had a coupon code on 70€, which I spent on a meal box. This meal box, however, was never sent to me. I called support, and got hold of a guy named James. James told me, that the box would be refunded, and that it had been delivered. I told him the problem again and again, but James wouldn't listen to me, and proceeded to insult me. After this episode, i will never order anything from this company again, and i strongly advice that other people wont either! Truly a horrible experience.

I really enjoy Marley Spoon because the recipes are interesting and have good value

I really enjoy Marley Spoon because I get to cook new and interesting recipes without the effort of searching for recipes and shopping for the ingredients. I was using another similar service but have switched entirely to Marley Spoon because I feel like the recipes are more complex (but not necessarily more difficult) whereas the other service had pretty basic ingredients I could have purchased cheaper at the grocery store.

All orders can be changed or cancelled up to 6 days before the delivery day. After that we place these orders with our suppliers and all fresh produce is purchased. Therefore it is not possible to change dishes from this point onwards.

At Marley Spoon, we work hard to create as little food waste as possible and even try to bring this to zero as much as possible. Because of this, our fresh produce is purchased in very exact quantities. We ask that you adjust or skip your order if desired, so that we can purchase exactly what we need and nothing ends up being thrown away.

clear, easy to use website & yummy recipes!

Been using Marleyspoon since end of 2021. So far quite satisfied as it introduces me to new ingredients, ways to use them, & the portions come exact (so less need to measure!). I personally like to reorder the steps so I can have multiple things cooking at once - but even then it often takes longer. I do like however that I can already see the instructions beforehand & estimate for myself how much work it would be, & if I would like it. I acknowledge that when a recipe uses varied & fresh ingredients, it's not always easy to shorten the amount of time needed for food prep. There is a good mix of food that takes less time to prep, & more complicated recipes - so I have a lot of choice.

The website is very easy to use so I can easily translate the recipes into English for myself, or pause several weeks' orders when I go on vacation - the pause or cancel button is not hidden somewhere hard to find!

Usually I choose the full 3 recipes I subscribed to for the week - & sometimes even 4 because something looks so yummy! In most cases we have enjoyed the food - there is a high success rate for us adults with the recipes being enjoyable. Children are slightly pickier so I make sure there are 1 or 2 meals in the week that are labeled as "child friendly".

We order the highest proportion - for 4 people, & I find this enough now for us as a family with 2 adults & 3 children in basisschool. I hope they will have higher proportions in the future as later on it may not be enough.

Their customer service is also very responsive & will quickly fix it when they forget to include an ingredient in the box. The ingredients come cool & fresh. So far I am vey satisfied with Marleyspoon!

Great receipts - poor packing

Great receipts. Easy to make and good instructions. Unfortunately the quality of the ingredients is often not good. If you choose 4 meals make sure at least one has ingredients that are easy to keep. Also every other package is missing ingredients and tomatoes always get delivered damaged. Make sure to eat the receipt with tomatoes first.
Value for money would be OK without these issues.

A bit disappointed
