4 day trip from Marrakesh to Merzouga and back

We booked the 4 day tour from Marrakesh and back to Merzouga and upgraded to the superior hotel, luxury tent and booked quad biking.

The experiences were amazing; we really enjoyed the camel riding and quad biking and having a tour around Aït Benhaddou and the oasis was good. But the trip was spolied by the terrible organisation and communication from the company.
It seems that you book the tour through marrakech desert tours which is an agency but the drivers, the people running the camps, the staff and the tour guides are all seperate entities with no communication between them, and no communication with you.
We were not sent an itinery beforehand but were just expected to know what was happening based off the very brief description on the website. We would get dropped off places without knowing what we were doing or how long we were going to be there for.
We were somehow expected to know that the third night was not in the luxury tent we booked as our email receipt claimed, but in a hotel which we were not told about - no information was given by anyone as to where this hotel was, how we were getting there, when we were getting picked up and the staff in the camp didn't know what was happening. We felt abandoned in the desert and had to spend our 'free day' in the desert finding out what was going on (no time for chilling by the pool which was not in the desert or sandboarding).
The accommodation in the desert was not as described - it was advertised as having A/C but it did not have an A/C unit and was very hot in the day.
We felt the website makes out that you are in the sand dunes of the desert but the camp was on the very edge of the sand dunes (not really in the desert). Apart from the quad biking we didnt really go into the proper sand dunes.
The general time management was also not brilliant - some parts are extremely rushed and other parts we were waiting around for an hour. One day we didn't have lunch until 3:45pm and dinner was at 9pm most nights, meaning you did not get to enjoy the place you were staying that evening or relax at all as it was 7:30am starts.
I also don't appear to be able to leave a review on their website so I question where the reviews on their website come from.

Overall I would say it is worth doing but be prepared for no communication. I'd advise asking the whatsapp number on their website for a detailed itintery with specific addresses and timings before hand.

Scam and fake promises

The company will fool you, and it is definitly not worth the money. Here is why:

*There was no AC in the minibus, even though it was promised. So we felt so hot and had a headache all days.

*Sandboarding was not possible. The camp did not have the boards, and we did not have time for it. We asked, but they said no.

*We were promised a sunrise camel trek, but it did not happen. We only had 1 camel trek in the evening. This is not okay at all! It was the big part of the tour!!

*The guides was not even awake to see the sunrise. So we had to wake up ourselves and go alone into the desert to watch the sunrise.

*The part of visiting the berber family in the morning was missing too.

We asked for a refund, because we feel very fooled. Many essential things was missing. Do not use this company!

Total scam! Awful service!

Total scam! Awful service! We were supposed to spend a night in a camp inside the Sahara Desert. However, we ended up sleeping in a car park (where the camels pooh) in a hotel at the edge of the desert. Don't waste your time and money. It was a very long journey and too much effort to get there. Full of camel pooh. The company is not willing to provide any refund or compensation.
