Disgusting behaviour from the Master…

Disgusting behaviour from the Master Cars team. My vehicle went in for repairs, I informed them I needed the vehicle back by a specific date, they came to pickup the vehicle earlier so that I could get it back in time.

Apparently they needed a special tool which had to be ordered, instead of informing me of the delay (which would mean I wouldn't get my vehicle back by the date I needed it for) they just kept quiet. I emailed and phoned them and they just told me its too late 'it's being sprayed there is nothing we can do' not even an apology.

Do not use this company.

Something has gone drastically wrong at…

Something has gone drastically wrong at this firm. We have used them many times and we have had fantastic service and always gave them a five star review. After being hit by an uninsured vehicle at the beginning of October last year, we had no hesitation in visiting them again. A gentleman looked at our car and said that he would let us have an estimate and informed us that they were very busy. Despite ringing them a couple of times, we have heard absolutely nothing, not even an estimate. Hence the one star review. We are very disappointed and have had a great service elsewhere.

Master Cars Review

Master Cars Review
On 25th July 2024 I collected my Land Rover Defender 90 from a main dealer.

Prior to purchase, when looking around the vehicle in the showroom (which was only one year old), we noticed that there was a large chip in the windscreen, meaning the windscreen would need replacing and a defect with the drivers door handle, which would need a repair.

Upon collection & inspection of the vehicle it was evident that when they had taken the windscreen out they had removed the A-post trims causing damage to the drivers and passengers wing, as well as mismatching the colour and no lacquer had been applied to the door handle repair.

Due to this poor service, we lost trust in the level of care and subsequent repair the main dealer had offered and at this point spoke to Master Cars, our local Land Rover approved repair centre.

From our initial telephone conversation with Ian Sykes, we felt that we were being listened to. When the vehicle was presented to Ian he thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and identified faults we hadn’t seen.
His eye for detail was reassuring. He explained the process and complexity involved in the repair.

The whole team were extremely professional, courteous and took ownership of the issues as if the vehicle was theirs personally.

Ian detailed the level of repair which would be needed, as agreed by Jaguar Landrover.
The level of detail compiled in the quote was outstanding.
The quote not only detailed the parts needed to carry out the repair, the labour costs, etc, it also detailed the necessary methods needed to reset and recalibrate all the cameras in the wing mirrors (ADAS reset)

The ADAS rest was not mentioned nor quoted for when dealing with the Land Rover main dealer.
They disputed that this would need to be carried out during repair.
This was purely to reduce costs and contrary to Jaguar Land Rover repair method statement.

Ian was adamant that he would not be able to complete the repair without the ADAS reset. This was a Land Rover requirement and the vehicle would have significant issues if this wasn’t carried out.

Ian was a great help when dealing with the main dealer. He thoroughly looked through other quotes we obtained and identified failings in the quotes. His attention to detail was outstanding!

Finally (after 13 weeks, and numerous phone calls with the main dealer) they agreed for Master Cars to carry out the repair.

The reception staff were efficient, professional, polite and courteous ensuring a courtesy vehicle was available upon drop off of my vehicle.
I was informed of expected time frames, I was contacted by Ian when the time frame needed to be extended by a day due to their meticulous attention to detail.

Upon collection of the vehicle I was introduced to the repairer, who was a master in his craft, I felt he treated my vehicle as his own.

The vehicle looked in showroom condition both inside and out. It hadn’t looked like that when I collected it from the main dealer!
Ian and the team went through the repair with me and ensured I was happy.
I was informed about the warranty and assured that if there was any problems I could return and the issues would be resolved.

I cannot praise Master Cars highly enough!
Ian Sykes is confident in his staff and has extremely high standards, which are to be envied by others and admired by customers.
The whole team thrive on customer satisfaction.

The repair & spray team are masters in their craft who have a meticulous attention to detail.
I would highly recommend using Master Cars and feel they should receive the credit they deserve.

Racketeers. Avoid. Should be closed down

My wife recently bumped a car in a car park. She agreed with the driver that she would sort the damage without using insurance. The mark on the car was a 3” scratch on the plastic bumper. The quote that can back was £1300 and included all sorts of rubbish about professional fees, test driving the car and said if there was any unseen damage this would be extra. Master cars is a racketeering organisation that totally exploits drivers and insurance companies. I will be making a formal complaint to trading standards. They need to be closed down. Total con merchants. They are recommended by Volvo.

Excellent Service

Exceptional Service – Highly Recommend Master Cars Body Shop!

After an unfortunate collision, I was directed to Master Cars (Birstall) as an approved repairer, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment I contacted them, every member of staff was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful.

The estimator provided a clear and thorough assessment, and the reception team was always welcoming and kept me well-informed throughout the entire process. Their communication was fantastic, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was done to the highest standard including organising the pick up of the courtesy car and hire car.

Not only did they deliver exactly what they promised, but the quality of the repairs exceeded my expectations. My car looks as good as new! I genuinely appreciate the care and attention they put into both their work and customer service.

I highly recommend Master Cars Body Shop to anyone – their outstanding service turned a stressful situation into a smooth and hassle-free experience. Absolutely deserving of 5 stars!

AVOID THIS PLACE.

Went to the workshop in Birstall, Batley to show my damaged car and get a quote for body repair. The body language of the reception staff was so negative and off-putting. Even before I say anything, I was told £54 charge for giving a quote for repair. That was my first and definitely last interaction. It is my mistake that I saw the google reviews and went there. NEVER AGAIN.

I'm sorry you felt that our reception was less than welcoming and positive. When customers ask for an estimate, we are happy to provide this and our estimating team will also provide helpful guidance and advice. However, when a customer is looking for a fully costed estimate with images on a complex repair, we respectfully advised that the charge we make is to cover the actual cost of producing this estimate. We do fully guarantee our repairs for three years and pride ourselves on excellent customer service.
