November 2025 Referral Incentives Not Issued

In November 2025, I referred Brandon through Masterworks’ referral program. The referral was completed successfully and met all stated requirements; however, the $200 prepaid Visa referral incentive owed to me and the $200 prepaid Visa incentive owed to Brandon were never issued.

I contacted Masterworks customer service multiple times to resolve this matter, but it remains unresolved and no clear explanation has been provided.

I relied on the referral terms being honored and am still seeking a prompt and fair resolution

Easy to understand

Easy to understand, great onboarding and understanding.

Purchase process wasn’t 100% as I didn’t get direct feedback on how to include a confirmation code. I still don’t know even though I did get my shares without any hassle.

I understand the concern, now.

It's understandable why there is so much concern about the legitimacy of this platform. The need to have a person on the phone to answer questions done online with other investment platforms, like Robinhood, Webull, Ark, so on, is odd. But I figured out why. They start with a "minimum" of 15k investment, then 1k, then say 500. This is all a lie. It can be done for $20. But if you had an online form, you'd find that out immediately, and not have someone lie to you. When I asked, the person told me the minimum was $500 invested in one painting. But then they let me do $125 each. Which was also a lie, as it is any amount, done in $20 increments. A three month wait to access the trading portion. K1 per art piece. Referral program is dubious, at best. I understand why their platform is diminishing, and the push via salesmen seems like the lesser of two choices. Instead of opening up to more people and making this easy, they are looking for whales. That's fine, but whales research. Within a few minutes one will find the feedback on this service. Anyway, in three months, I can then see the secondary market. Maybe it'll be better.

Alternative investments are just more…

Alternative investments are just more fun that piling into an index or bond funds. If it is a cliché, then Masterworks proves it out.

Alts should be part of any portfolio. Masterworks' objects are unique, physical works of art which are not correlated to gold or bitcoin value.

I get to become a partial owner in art I actually like by
noteworthy artists.

A Pleasant Surprise

It was a surprise, really, because two days ago the system didn’t work for me. I checked it again today by complete chance and everything worked fine. I didn’t need any help to complete my transaction, and now I own a piece of a Basquiat. A Pleasant Surprise.

Erik Bringsjord was/is my contact

Erik Bringsjord was/is my contact. He answered all of my questions, talked me through the process, the historical performance and why I should consider investing in fine art. After talking with my Financial advisor, thinking and praying about investing, I decided to make a small investment and see how it goes. Overall a very good experience.

Very good. Not great.

Very unique and interesting way to allow the layperson to invest in art work. Their fees are high - 1.5% annual and they keep 20% of the profits when the art sells. It is also difficult to find out where your profits are deposited. The other functions that are provided - invitations to galleries and the provided research is excellent.
