Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 275 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the user experience to be frustrating and tedious, often describing it as a chore that causes stress and anxiety. They frequently mentioned issues with the product, including poorly explained questions, a lack of personalization, and a system that requires 100% accuracy, leading to repetitive tasks and an inability to move forward without getting every question right. Customers also reported significant problems with the app and website, citing slow loading times, glitches, and an unintuitive interface. The artificial intelligence features were a common source of dissatisfaction, with many feeling that the AI-generated questions were unhelpful, often incorrect, and contributed to the overall difficulty and frustration of the platform.

As a parent

As a parent, this is a horrific system and its unbelievable that this is implemented into schools. The stress this causes my children (one who is top set and above attainment and one who is average) is awful. They get detentions for not completing works BUT they cannot have one wrong answer to 100% the homework. Why are we teaching the children failure isnt an option? How are rhe school learning what children are struggling with a system that doesn't show them? Awful this thing shouldn't exist.

Awful for mental health and special needs students.

Sparx maths is awful. Back when I didn't have lessons dedicated to doing homework in learning support (the special needs area in my school), I remember sobbing over my homework because the AI marking would be wrong and you have to get 100% completion. Now I do my homework instead of modern languages, PE, dance, P&R and history. It sounds like a lot but I only do 2 lessons a day so it comes out as like 2-3 lessons for homework each week, but that still isn’t enough time to complete it because of how ridiculous the system is. I now have homework not completed that was due 36 days ago because what was meant to take an hour can take 2-3. This is and awful website, and if you are a teacher or head master looking for an app to use for homework in schools TURN AWAY NOW.

Makes no sense

Please explain to me why if you get a question right (after 2 mental breakdowns of trying) you are rewarded with harder questions. How dare they make people suffer like this.

A terrible app

All of my pets and dead relatives materialized to help my brother try to solve a problem so we figured out the best thing to do is to just ALT+F12 and delete the whole app.

100% correct is ridiculous

Sparx Maths is rubbish because it requires 100% of questions to be correct for the homework to be "completed". This means that if you have 50 questions and you get 49 of them correct, the homework is still incomplete.

This website genuinely infuriates me so much, the videos are useless, and the times tables take so long to do i wrote this review whilst doing my sparx, I’d rather live in prison than do this, do not recommend, and whats the point of bookwork checks like of course I haven’t wrote down the answer since it’s not beneficial, please do not think about using this since it’s not worth your time

Horrible

Absolute rubbish. Questions reset after getting them wrong 3 times leading you to start it all over again. The questions feel repetitive- same questions each time with different numbers. It’s even worse when you struggle on those specific questions and makes you do 5 of them. The videos are confusing- barely engaging. The narrators of them sound like clogged vacuum cleaners. Constant book checks as well just slowing the overall process down. I can’t even be bothered to write them down anymore. I just get them all the wrong. You have to complete 100% of it no partial credit. Half the questions are just repeated ones from previous weeks. It could at least be more engaging. There’s an xp system that literally just does nothing. Just makes you level up. You can swap questions after getting it wrong at least 6 times and watching the video twice. You only get three swaps a week however. This form of homework is absolutely horrible. Just give us a homework sheet or something. Good look trying to complete it in under an hour. I suggest using Ai and a calculator.

This homework platform is an abomination

This homework platform is an abomination. Honestly, I don’t even know what to say. I have been stuck on a single question for 2 days. It makes you do every single question. There is no “good enough,” or “mistakes are learning.” Wait there is more, these stupid bookwork checks are so anoying. Apparently if you don’t right every single answer down, your not learning. To them if you have done 99% you have achieved nothing. This is disgusting, aster maths was better

DREADFUL

This is a serious matter for the UN: Children's mental health is plummeting down all because of this scam. They say 'SparxMaths deepens your childs knowledge for the subject', but it only teaches them how boring the subject can be. It's made by noobs who use AI too save the time and cost of this dreadful programming. A message to all teachers: avoid.

Terrible!

At first glance, it seems like a standard homework and learning app. But with repeated questions, constant bookwork checks and the exhausting videos.
1. They use the same stupid questions. I do them week after week and in the very slightest chance that I get them wrong, I have to complete the SAME questions for longer.
2. The bookwork checks are ridiculous. If I get the question wrong, I’m obviously not going to have the same answer as the stupid AI.
3. The videos they make you watch… the voices sound like they have a loaf of bread stuffed down their Oesophagus!!!
In conclusion, just pick another way to learn. There are literally thousands.

sparx maths is utter torture and hell

sparx maths is utter torture and hell, why cant we just do it in homework books with worksheets, primary school maths homework stuff, you know? oh and also you cant even call it learning when you are forced to get things correct, AND OH MY GOD THE SWAP SYSTEM, So, you get a question wrong, watch a video that doesnt help, awnser it wrong again and get a different version of ghe question which forces you to start new workings instead of keeping the old question, which by the way, already sucks, get it wrong one more time and kaboom, you need to use a swap, and sometimes it swaps it out for an even harder question, and the 3 limit, its like fricking skip ad tickets, and if you run out well god help you

SGSHGDGEHAHABAHHAHAHEGSGYWHABSHS sorry just expressing my inner rage for this peice of slop

this app is horrible

this review is coming from a past student. so, this app/website has a general idea that for you to complete the homework to 100 percent, you have to get EVERY SINGLE QUESTION RIGHT. This goes from not so tedious to very tedious over the course of 5-10 mins. oh and, what do they do when you're getting every question right consistently? GIVE YOU HARDER QUESTIONS OF COURSE, this review is showing the bane of my existence in full then, you have to worry about the next appalling feature, bookwork. if not done to standard this has made many teachers switch students sets (including mine) if you get low bookwork but if you get high bookwork, nothing happens. this is the end to my review and i dont think i could've explaied how much people hate this application so much.
