Beyond horrible

Beyond horrible. New washer died after 8 months. Now going on 3 weeks without a washing machine. They sent a "tech" and I use that term very loosely to "fix" it. We waited a few days for a part, didn't fix it. Tech says he doesn't know what the new code the machine is throwing means. He leaves and thats the last I've heard from anyone in two weeks.

The customer service "chat" is totally useless. Its a combination of telling you the incredibly obvious (your work order is still open...) and generic copy and paste messages (We're real sorry about this...gosh if only we could somehow help...) Do NOT buy a Maytag or any Whirlpool product. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Missing parts by design

How do you get off selling a dishwasher with SEVEN parts missing?? I could not install the dishwasher in the only 3-hour window I had this month bc I only found out I was missing so may parts when I read the manual for installation. WHO SELLS AN APPLIANCE WITHOUT A POWERCHORD???? This is why China is winning - at least they deliver COMPLETE PRODUCTS instead of DECEIVING their customers. I will NEVER buy an American company's appliance again, and I'll tell everyone I know to never buy Maytag.

Maytag Loves money and not customers

We bought a Maytag stove through Lowe’s thinking that it was a good brand and the oven has not held temperature properly from the beginning. Lowe’s has tried to work with us and Maytag, but Maytag will do nothing to help. They did send out a service guy to look at it and he confirmed there was a problem and Maytag threatened to charge us for the service call. we have been dealing with it for a year now through multiple phone calls and emails and all they do is get angry and say they won’t do anything. Definitely do not buy anything from Maytag if you value your money, and your time. So now we have a stove that we are not happy with and does not cook food properly but what does Maytag care? They got their money and that’s all that matters to them. It used to be that companies would stand behind their products, but apparently not anymore, and Maytag is a good example of this.

My 18 month old maytag dishwasher MODEL # MDB8959SKZ0…

My 18 month old maytag dishwasher bought at costco began to alarm for leaking 2 days after last being used....so we checked it and sure enough was leaking around pump seal. Notified costco but they said it was still on manufacture's warranty so had us contact maytag whirlpool to get service...Waited 3 days for the repair person to contact us but they didn't so contacted maytag whirlpool again only to find out that the repair was scheduled for sunday just past with the repair person that was not to be found in the Sudbury, ON area, so they said they would search for a repair person and get back to me...finally 2 days later repair person called me from Espanola. I sent him the video of the machine leaking and he said he knew exactly which part to order and did so....repeatedly checked with him biweekly to see if they had sent part for 3 weeks and finally he phoned and put a rush on it but still nothing came. Just before thanksgiving weekend he claimed that he hoped it would come next week. Wednesday after thanksgiving I text him to see if he had a tracking number to see if it was even shipped yet ( with no response so I phoned him and it went straight to voicemail)....same day I happened to go to costco and seen they had a bosch dishwasher that I wanted to buy as I was tired of waiting for the repair....decided to explain what was happening to costco service desk staff and they offered to refund me in full if I would return the dishwasher to them so we agreed but couldn't do it till the next day. I text the repair person to inform him of what had transpired and to cancel the repair as it was taking too long....( again no response and no indication that he had seen the text) so to be safe I phoned maytag repair to be sure it was cancelled and told them what had happened....only to be told that the repair had been cancelled by them on the wed before we had even returned the dishwasher...I expressed this was odd as I hadn't even returned it yet, could you tell me why they would cancel the repair when it wasn't fixed and they did not contact me to tell me they were going to do that. Response was she didn't know. At no time did maytag ever try to reach me or inform me of this occurrence or at alone why or if they were unable to repair it and what they would do to make up for it. Needless to say costco made up for this terrible service but I am still left with a lot of questions as to how they think their customers would like to be treated this way....they lost this customer for life. Sincerely miffed Lori

Dryer not drying within 2 1/2 months of purchase

I purchased a Maytag dryer in July, and by the end of September it was no longer drying adequately - if at all. I purchased it because I wanted to use less energy, but am now having to run my clothes through multiple times. At first, it seemed to be just on the auto-dry setting. However, now neither the auto setting nor the timed dry work effectively. I called once and was told to check my hose and the lint screen. I was also told customer service would send me a "test kit" to see if it was heating. No effort was made to schedule service. I did not receive a test kit within a few days, and it began taking even longer for my clothing to dry so I called again. This time customer service took the issue more seriously and has scheduled a repair person. However, no one is available for a week. If someone had taken me seriously on the first call, perhaps it would be fixed by now. I bought Maytag in part because of its long-time reputation. Buying an appliance that does not work after a couple of months leads me to believe I will look at other brands in the future.

I wish I'd seen these reviews before I…

I wish I'd seen these reviews before I bought a Maytag washing machine! I spent $1200 on a washer in Nov 23 and it started malfunctioning a few months later, but it completely stopped working in July. Getting someone out here to repair it has been a nightmare, but several weeks ago, the repair folks decided it was the control board. Fast forward 3 weeks and now they installed the board, but it still doesn't work. Now they think it might be the pump or maybe something else? I'm about ready to take this to the dump and go buy a new machine (non Maytag/Whirlpool) that actually works. The only help I get from their help desk is their lame suggestions to keep trying to repair it over the next few months; note that it takes a very frustrating 45 minutes to ever get through to anyone on that line. I want my money back. Terrible company.

Maytag Sells Absolute Garbage Appliances

I want to post this review in the hopes that other avoid the garbage that Maytag is selling. I purchased Maytag in the hopes of getting a decent warranty with the product. According to Maytag, they place a 10 year warranty on their particular washer/dryer I purchased. Within the first year, my dryer had a defective part and needed to have service. It was like pulling teeth to get them to honor their warranty. Within six months, the part was bad again and when I contacted Maytag, they only warranted the prior replacement for three months. Folks, if you have ever seen the Tommy Boy movie, this is exactly what they discussed with regards to slapping a warranty on a piece of garbage product. Maytag manufactures garbage and I will no longer purchase another product from them. They may show how durable they are in their commercials, but in the end they are NOT durable! They also may say they have a 10 year warranty, read the fine print. I hope this review is viewed by many people and that it causes a significant loss of sales to Maytag.

21 st century Maytag boasts fake reliability

My Maytag front commercial loader has a filter for large & small objects that only techs can get to. :(
My last Samsung filter that I cleaned regularly was easy to get to. The service today was $195.11. I think Maytag should pay for the repair because of their POOR engineering . :(
So much for their oL school brain washing telling US that we won't see a repair person.

Horrible service

Horrible service! We purchased a freezer through Costco. 2 year warranty. Freezer less than a year old and part went bad. By time we realized it (only a few days) everything in our freezer was thawed and at room temp. So we lost everything - all meats & seafood! Their website and other sites shows $250 food reimbursement but they won't honor it. Won't buy from Maytag/Whirlpool again!!

Maytag’s reputation means nothing these days.

They want you to do everything you can not to call for service. Website maze is almost overwhelming. When you finally get in on a phone, they are nice enough nd no no third world country to deal with. But then, to simply get someone to come and fix my dryer they try to sell you two different “options” each about 1/2 the price of a new dryer. After all that, they can schedule it two weeks out for 1.5 of the local guys. So $150. Where I already had some for $100, which went into the price of the repair. I’m not get a Maytag again. Their reputation has worn out.

Cheats Loyal Customers

This is the most dishonorable company I have ever come across. I bought a dishwasher from them in November and it worked perfectly for six months. As it was under warranty, they sent repair techs four times, twice to swap out defective pumps, once to reset the control panel and a final time because the dishwasher still isn't working. The repair tech at that time took the temperature at the sink without giving it enough time to run (and did so remotely) and declared that the water temperature was not high enough, even though my hot water heater is cranked up to scalding. He did not check the heating elements. Maytag has told me to pay for a plumber, just to see how high the water temperature actually is and its representative from the corporate office lied to the Better Business Bureau and told them the problem was an installation issue, ignoring the points stated above. At no time was I told it was an installation issue.

I will be warning everyone I know away from Maytag/Whirlpool as they are a dishonest, customer-cheating scam at this point. My family already knows to avoid them, having witnessed how they swindle loyal customers.

If I could give 0 stars or less I would! Our 7 year old Maytag quit. Waited almost 2 weeks to come out the first time. They decided it couldn't be fixed. Because of our warranty they gave us a "new" one, but only from Bestbuy. Probably because it wasn't "new". It was refurbished!! 2 days after getting it, it broke too!! It's now holding a load of my clothes hostage sitting in water with the lid locked and no way of unlocking it. We've tried everything!! Now they won't be out for another week!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬Maytag technicians are incompetent and the company is and it's products are trash!!!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!!!!When I mean to tell you

When I mean to tell you , don’t even bother wasting your time and money !! We bought Maytag’s digital upload washer over $725 without warranty. I do laundry every Sunday just like the average person. Our washer is only 3 years old and just stopped working. We had tech service men to look at it only to tell us it would cost more to fix than the washer itself. We contacted Maytag regarding the issue and their response was, there is nothing we could do because you didn’t buy the extended warranty! Their products are junk !! Just read others reviews!! Maytag should go out of business because they are awful

Junk products

Junk products. Purchased their $1000 dishwasher in November 2022. It has spent more time being repaired than used. Every 3 months the same part breaks & I have to wait for the repair. Now maytag refused to fix (just outside the 1 year warranty), it is the SAME PART & they told us the last time it broke (December) that they would take care of it if it broke again! They also refused to replace even though it is obviously a lemon or horrible machine. We own a construction company & will never recommend their products to ANYONE

Buyer Beware

If I could give them a zero I would!! We’ve had nothing but issues with our washer. The motor was fried after having it for a month. It was replaced with a brand new unit - aka another piece of garbage. Our second washer has had a broken detergent drawer and a cracked lid twice. We’ve spent over 7+hrs on the phone with customer service. We continue to get the run around or told there’s nothing they can do - except offer me a coupon code to buy a new washer (when mine is only 3 years old). They’re unwilling to help & acknowledge that the left hinge on the lid is defective. The plastic cracks in the same spot near the left hinge and eventually shatters, making the washer unusable bc it will not lock. The lid has ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. However, it broke again after just over 1yr, so it’s not covered under the “warranty”. I’ve never been more disappointed with washer or a company. They make their product well enough to last through the 1 year warranty. Then everything breaks. I will NEVER EVER buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product again!! **AVOID Maytag!!**

Top load with agitator

Our washer quit agitating/working days before our 1 year warranty was up. A technician was sent out, and said it was likely the electronic board, he replaced that and it was good for a few loads until it quit again (not agitating). He’s been here to fix it quite a few times and it works for a few loads and then quits again. I tried contacting Maytag directly and they were less than helpful and didn’t seem to care. I’m very disappointed in this product.
