McDowells Jewellers, Dublin - "The Happy Ring House", more like THE HORROR RING HOUSE. Don't buy a ring for a special occassion from this jeweller. We bought my engagement, wedding and eternity ring in this shop. First engagement ring had to be replaced and a new one remade so far I have been back 4 times with engagement ring as stones keep falling out and once with my eternity ring. I was told by the manager last week that this is normal and due to wear and tear and that they wouldn't repair free of charge despite having paid on numerous occassions. So what are you supposed to do pay extortionate money for rings and keep them in a box to look at. Engagement, wedding and eternity rings should be for life. My mother had an engagement ring for 70 years and it's still good to this day.
I do not recommend purchasing anything with a diamond from this jewellery store Customer service is nil.
When I left a review on their website, they came back you say I purchased the ring in 1994 as per receipt, not true, ring was purchased in 2004, have the receipt to prove this they also say I didn't have it repaired the amount of times I say, funny I have receipts to show that I did.
Just a horrible company to deal with.
