Sales Mismanagement and Poor…

Sales Mismanagement and Poor After-Purchase Support

I am writing this to warn others about my experience with this dealership regarding the purchase of a John Deere 3025E. I was transparent with the sales representative from the start, explaining that I had no prior knowledge of this tractor. I even showed him the specific terrain of my 13-acre property. He assured me that 25 HP would be sufficient for my needs. It is now clear that the tractor is underpowered for the task.
The delivery and initial quality were equally disappointing.

• Delivery Issues: The unit was delivered with the lights left on, draining the battery completely. Additionally, the stickers were already peeling off—not the "new" condition one expects at delivery.

• Service Failures: When I reported the dead battery, I was told to bring it in for a replacement. After I made the trip, they informed me it would take a week. Over a week passed with no update until I was forced to contact Headquarters. Only then did the manager, Chad, reach out to resolve the battery issue.

• The "Non-Conforming" Issue: I expressed that the tractor did not meet the standards of a new machine upon delivery.

After finally getting to use the machine, my concerns about the horsepower were validated. The dealership sent out a product specialist who agreed that the machine struggled and would benefit from more power.

The Resolution Offer:
Despite admitting the machine is underpowered for my land, the dealership’s only solution is to treat this as a standard trade-in. They expect me to take a $10,000 loss (leaving me upside down) to fix a mistake made by their own sales recommendation.

As a combat-disabled veteran, I value integrity and standing by one's word. I was prepared to be a lifelong John Deere customer, but instead, I feel the dealership is attempting to take advantage of the situation. If I am forced to be upside down on a trade, I will certainly be taking my business to a different manufacturer.

Buyer beware: Do your own research and do not rely on the terrain assessments of the sales staff here.
