The so‑called “patient first” motto…

The so‑called “patient first” motto seems to exist only on paper. Their approach appears entirely profit‑driven. Despite having an MoU with ECHS, they refused to allot an ICU bed simply because the patient belonged to ECHS, which is extremely disappointing and hypocritical.

A war zone

An absolute disaster.
24 hour of Medanta care is a nightmare.
Filthy dirty.
Rude arrogant staff.
No following their own care plans for my health.
As an international tourist who had cardiac failure on an Air India flight from London..24 hours in their so called care they still have not contacted my next of kin Lawyer husband in London.
I am a solo traveller with no family in India
I would not wish this hospital on my worst enemy.
I would have been treated better in a Government hospital.
I am transferring to AIMS number 1 hospital in India.
Medanta has 1.7 rating on Trust Pilot.

Strongly recommend avoiding this hospital unless they make serious improvements in management.

Total waste of time and money. Worst experience ever. The hospital management is extremely unprofessional, no helpful staff. No system for patient support or queries. Everything feels like chaotic and disorganised. It was extremely frustrating and disappointing to see such a careless behaviour in a place where patients come for care and support.

Death during surgery. Pursuant to demise of younger brother

Pursuant to demise of younger brother, an ENT Consultant, during surgery undertaken by Dr. Adarsh Chaudhary(Gastro)at Medanta(on 28/5/25) I posted a review on Dr.Adarash on 21st.June 25.Besides I sought some clarifications about the mystery surrounding the death during the surgery. Accordingly I received the standard reply from the corresponding Medanta team asking therein to send details on the email ID.Subsequently I sent the details on the said email and even talked to Dr Jitender Yadav on phone number +911244834533 on 25/6/25 and sharing the details with him.The concerned assured me about taking up the issue with the concerned team of doctors and would share the details with me consequently. However, for reasons better known to them nothing was heard till date from them.
This omerta and disregard for our plea, keeping in view the sensivity of the issue, seem highly undesired besides defeats the purpose of the stipulated grievance redressal mechanism. This further seems to give credence to our doubts regarding mishandling and negligence during the surgery. This further seems to put a question mark about the image of the hospital and the doctors.
Expecting a considerate response to the plea from a grieving family who lost a member at a very young age during surgery at your hospital.

⭐ 0 Star- Worst Experience Ever !

⭐ 0 Star – Worst Experience Ever!

I took my father to Medanta Lucknow for a routine check-up, trusting their name. But shockingly, within hours of registering my phone number at the hospital, I started receiving spam calls from nearby medical shops and labs.

🚨 Over 70+ calls from random pharmacies and diagnostic companies in just one day!
Who gave them access to my private number?
Was my personal data sold or shared without consent?

This is a serious breach of privacy and trust. I expected healthcare, not harassment.

Medanta must be held accountable.

Wastage of time and money in Medanta hospital

I myself operated for CABG in Medanta. who is going to operate you'll never met before or after surgery. My suggestion to everyone if you have a good cardiac surgeon in your city/town do not waste time and money to spend in Medanta go with local Doctor, because I believe counselling is more important for a patient to heal faster.

Father did not survive CABG

Trehan is heartless. My 75 yr old otherwise fit father left Medanta in a coffin. He will give you 1min consultation and then leave the country post surgery. He is not updated about his patient's condition by his team.He will lose a patient which doesnt impact his prestige, but you will loose your whole world. They are all butchers, dont be mislead by fancy accreditations they boast of.

Don't ever take your loved one's to…

Don't ever take your loved one's to medanta.

No one is there to take care and no one let you what is going on in ICU

I LOST MY MOTHER IN THIS BUTCHER HOSPITAL!!

I asked DR. KATARIA how my mother is she replied I will not reply again & again. After all she is my mother I & I will ask her many times.

And lastly she replied we don't have any hope of her survival and " yaeh mai Aapko kal he batana chati thi""

Even though she knows but to make money my mother was put on vantilater!!

Get your patient to any hospital but never "MEDANTA""

SURVIVAL CHANCES ARE "0" AT MEDANTA.

IF PROBLEM MAY BE SMALL THEY WILL MAKE IT BIG AND LET YOUR LOVED ONE TO DIE.

MY MOTHER WAS 4 DAYS IN ICU ON VANTILATER & WHEN SO EVER I ASK ICU STAFF FOR ANY MOVEMENT. THEY SIMPLY REPLY SHE IS UNDER SEDATION..

AND MY MOTHER NEVER COME OUT OF SEDATION BACK!!

IF POSSIBLE GET YOU PATIENT TREATED TO GOOD NEARBY HOSPITAL..

BUT NEVER TAKE TO MEDANTA

THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION

International patient involved in a…

International patient involved in a RTA. Surgery went well but the after care and adminstration were dreadful. Kept demanding payment and when said to deal with insurance they would not communicate. The international liaison person didn't know anything. Then were held hostage when trying to leave as they would not take payment from insurance company and demanded we pay them directly. The nursing staff would come and ask the patient and relative staying with them what the procedure was and if things (that they were supposed to have done) been done. It was added stress to an already stressful situation that was not needed.

This hospital is a nightmare

This hospital is a nightmare. We brought our young brother for liver transplant based upon the rosy promised given by Dr A S Soin. But that turned out be the biggest mistake of our life. My brother was dead on 23rd of February, Liver transplant never happened.
Dr Soin who promised so much did not even visit my brother once even when he was in ICU, except once when we made shout. On 23rd of February when they told my brother is critical my family went to AS Soin, he responded by shouting at my family and telling them bring patient and get out.

There is no internal communication in the hospital. Junior doctors and nurses are appointed in ICU. And the worst is that they are so greedy.

Please avoid this hospital and never bring a critical patient there.

Just like any other Corporate (Business) Hospital

Overall the Hospital does have well qualified Doctors.
However, they have very dodgy billing process when it comes to testing and referring the patient to Doctors in the team.
There is no uniformity regarding Doctors who engage in this intentionally.
Some Doctors are forthcoming with the patient and will refund you the consultation fees if they feel they're not the right doctor for you.

Others will jump at the chance to milk you. This is especially true with some of the female Doctors.
Textbook Hospital stuff.
Lool, Doctors here are known to scold and shout at you when you first go to meet them. This maybe due to pressure.
Always question your doctor if he sends you to a female doctor in his team. Chances are he's milking you.

The most reputed Doctors with international experience are even more guilty of this.
I also suspect that these reputed doctors work with female doctors and female residents intentionally so that patients won't be able to question them or confront them regarding decisions, etc.
They do operate like a Cartel when it comes to exclusive distributions rights of some medicines and medical equipment.

On a Positive Note, they do have all the medical facilities and equipment that you find in the West.

Unfortunately, the sketchy billing and internal politics is the price you will have to pay for to have access to Western facilities and equipment should the need arise.

Note: I don't know if this is better than Fortis, Apollo, or Max.

Dissapointing Billing Procedures/ Lack of Transparency

I had taken my mom for a second opinion from a professional psychologist/mental Health Counselor at Medanta. My mom suffers fatigue in her daily functioning due to Navel Displacement which has symptoms very closely resembling IBS-M (Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Type-Mixed).

I have taken my Mom to several reputed Doctors in the UK and eventually in India, after moving back temporarily.
After consulting with quite a few gastroenterologists, I was advised to get an opinion from a Psychiatrist or Psychologist to understand my mom's condition from that perspective.

I don't believe my Mom is a mental patient but IBS-M does have a connection with the mind.
My mom was already seeking treatement at Max Saket with a gastroenterologist and a psychologist there. My Mom had done various tests like MMPI, MMPI-2, Rorschach, etc. I felt skeptical as my Mom is not a mental patient and her symptoms very closely resemble IBS-M. Though she is not diagnosed with IBS-M.
We booked an appointment with a female psychologist. Dr. Akanksha Batra was the only one who was available that day. There were other doctors but their schedules were full.

After paying for the Consultation we go inside to meet Dr. Akanksha. After about 8 minutes of casual conversation about my professional background, she asked us to go to an adjacent room where she sent her assistant to ask my mom to do a few psychological tests. I wanted to avoid this as my Mom had already done them earlier and had her reports. I told this to the assistant. She came back telling me that the previous tests were incoherent and unclear. I pressed her further on how those tests are unclear but she didn't give any definite answer.
These tests cost 2,500 at all Corporate chains, and usually cost 1000 maximum and clinics.

I felt strange and knew that this was just a ploy for them to make quick money. She hadn't even asked my mother about her condition or her background before sending us out for those tests.
As I'm writing this I understand my naivety at continuing with her demands instead of walking away. After my mom spent that day redoing 3 tests, we returned the next day to discuss those reports and proceed with the appointment. But to my dismay she had not processed those results on time. Also, after hearing my mom out for a session she said that she doesn't specialize in IBS so I would need to consult with a gastroenterlogist for accurate information.
She ended the consultation by asking me to review our experience with her on some doctors online rating platform, CrediPlus+ or HealthCredi+.

I scolded her for making us go through all those tests and not listening to us during the initial consultation before making my Mom go through the tests in house at Medanta again. She deflected and didn't respond and sat their quietly. She didn't respond to why she didn't even process my mom's test results for this session.
It was a very frustrating time that we had spent at Medanta. I don't have any faith in how the rest of the Hospital is.
This is only my experience in the Neuro-Psychiatry department. But having experienced the dubious manner in which Dr. Akanksha coerced us into doing those tests, I can only extrapolate the culture at the Hospital. Suffice to say I'm not bringing my family here again.
I don't have time to pursue this with HOD in the Hospital and know full well that we've been duped.

Awesome medical institution

Its an incredible medical institution. I had been there during my father's knee operation. The doctors there are very professional. The equipment they use are top notch.
