Pay us to read content you as a community created

Medium sources its content for free from experts and innovators, but then charges those same people to read content by others in their own community. It is as if Medium have zero understanding of how communities based on sharing work. Plus, I can't exclude these guys from my google results. These people deserve to be thrown in a pit full of TikTok influencers.

AI content creation rubish and click bait

Another textbook example of adware and bloatware, i got coaxed by a review of a smartwatch I have jusy bought, looking for ways to activate GPS elevation tracking - a pretty basic feature of a decent GPS watch boasting ove 130 sports, includingmany Mountaineering sports.

The article publish by some henry the tech chef guy (or bot) randomly described the many amazing apps that the wahtch can connect to and upload - no explanation. All pure fiction, submediocre cr@p. Rubish abuse of AI.

At the very bottom the article confirms that AI was used for content creation.

Medium is bad

Even if the huge pop-up that takes up almost the whole screen tells you clearly that you can read premium articles when you subscribe, people will close it immediately as soon as they begin reading an interesting article. Afterwards, in the middle of the article, just when you're about to reach the good part, it asks you to sign in to continue reading. It literally says this:

The author made this story available to Medium members only. If you’re new to Medium, create a new account to read this story on us.

This misleads people into thinking that once they create a free account, they can continue reading. However, they'll find out that they still can't read unless they begin purchasing a monthly subscription. This happened to me once, but it was in a date that I can't set older than a year ago.

There is nowhere else you can get paid to write as a beginner. You will get a ton of support into the bargain. The platform doesn't pay as well as it used to but its a great place to start.

Medium.com is a run by a bunch of…

Medium.com is a run by a bunch of incompetent clowns. Completely disgusted on their actions and how they've treated me. Posted over 100 useful and informative articles where thousands of people found them helpful. I never asked to be compensated. Out of nowhere and without any notice, they decided to deactivate my account. I've repeatedly asked them to point out what I've done wrong only to be told to read the terms and conditions. If you rely on them for compensation or think you'll be compensated don't bother they are a lying scum. Set up your own website and find ways to make money and rely less on companies who control freedom of speech.

A Company Of Pedophiles and Nazies

A disgusting fascist platform that will ban anybody voicing even remotely conservative viewpoints, while allowing genuine hatred and calls for violence against conservatives, Christians and men.

A cesspit of manhating feminists of the greasiest kind, and extremely wicked individuals that unironically advocate for violence against Trump supporters and conservatives (and Medium doesn't ban them).

And worse yet, pedophile.. yes... PEDOPHILE apologists are allowed on the platform and not being banned. Which only means one thing - pedophiles work at Medium Corporation.

Voice a single positive article about Trump however, even if it doesn't attack, nor even mention other people, but simply praises Trump on some of his policies - instant ban hammer. Being a Trump supporter makes you worse than a pedophile and a Nazi that calls for political violence and murders.

Absolute wicked individuals working at this company, no wonder they don't post their names and hide in secret - nobody would hire them if they knew who they are.

Avoid at all costs, don't visit their website, don't pay them a cent. This company is full of lunatics, and their website is the most hateful platform on the entire internet.

SCAMMERS AND FAKE INFORMATION

They allow people to publish scam articles giving positive reviews to scam websites, more particularly Eedly.com THIS IS NON ACCEPTABLE since it means that this platform allows fake information and helps scammers convince their victims about possible scams.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. Beware of Medium's subscription practices—they are not transparent and can end up costing you more than expected. I signed up for a monthly subscription, only to find out later that I was charged twice in a single month without any notification or explanation.

When I tried to rectify this with their support team, I encountered nothing but frustration. Their customer service was slow to respond, and when they did, it was with generic replies that didn't address my specific issue. It's clear that Medium prioritizes taking your money over providing a fair and reliable service.

Furthermore, attempting to cancel or manage your subscription is unnecessarily complex. They make it easy to sign up but incredibly difficult to opt out or stop charges from recurring. It's as if they hope you won't notice the extra charges or bother to cancel.

My advice: steer clear of Medium if you value transparent billing and customer-friendly practices. There are plenty of other platforms out there that offer similar content without the hassle of unexpected charges and poor customer service.

Save yourself the headache and choose a platform that respects its users. Medium, fix your subscription system and treat your customers with the respect they deserve.

FRAUDULENT

I would give this a negative if possible.
Medium.com has been charging my bank account for over 2 years. I keep disputing the charges and canceling my cards then the charges show up again without me giving my card or bank info or my consent.
Meaning they are stealing the data somehow.

A Scamming site positively reviewed.

I just went on to Medium and discovered an article from someone favourably reviewing Saturn4u.com. I was scammed on this so-called trading site, and the FCA warns people against using it. It is unregulated and to be avoided at all costs. How totally irresponsible to allow this article!

Awful experience and shady agenda

I don't feel like I need to add anything. Just look at the tons of other 1-star reviews. My experience wasn't good, but it's been covered already by many others. I'm particularly sad about this because I've read Medium for years, and what they've become now is definitely something I want to stay away from.

By the way, nothing screams "paid reviews" like having some awesome 5-star reviews amidst an overwhelming sea of 1-star ones.

DO NOT WRITE FOR MEDIUM

DO NOT WRITE FOR MEDIUM - 2 different blogs I've monitized and they have stolen now.

They give a vague reason and then even if they re-instate your blog they no longer show it to anyone. It's like a shadow ban.

I've paid around $20 in subscription fees over the two blogs and been paid $6. The supposed earnings I was going to make before being banned are in the $100s. Nothing has been paid to me and today they removed my membership for the second blog. Still been paid nothing.

I've wasted months writing quality content to be paid nothing. Absolute scum. Do not waste your time.

Cancelled my membership without warning and stole my earnings

Not only was a large portion of my money taken each month without any explanation of where it went, but medium have now cancelled my membership without warning after I have spent years building up a large following, I've appealed and got a rude response back telling me it's tough and their decision is final - also taking my full month's earning with them. Shove your platform, it's terrible anyway and run by clowns.
