Poor quality items that fall apart
I purchased adaptive all-in-one clothing for my elderly stepmother, who has dementia and requires assistance with mobility, including the use of a hoist. As carers visit her regularly, clothing that is practical and easy to manage—such as all-in-one garments with back zips—is essential.
I chose Medoris as they are a UK-based supplier and offer products specifically designed for these needs, and I was pleased with the prompt delivery.
Unfortunately, I have been disappointed with the quality of the items received, particularly given their price. One daytime garment had a faulty zip and was returned and refunded without issue. However, two nighttime garments subsequently deteriorated very quickly, with seams coming apart and overall construction failing after minimal use and normal washing.
Due to my not living nearby, there was an unavoidable delay in returning these items, as my stepmother and father are not able to manage returns themselves. While I understand that return timeframes are important, I had hoped that the extent of the faults would be taken into consideration.
I was concerned to be informed that the damage was attributed to “stresses that would not normally be expected.” In this case, the garments were only subjected to typical use—being worn while sitting or lying down—and standard washing conditions. Given this, I feel the issues point more towards a problem with durability or manufacturing quality.
These products do not meet the needs of customers requiring specialist clothing.
