Not only is this good medical practice, but it ensures, the clinician is up to date with recent treatment guidelines. It also provides robust information to governing bodies such as the Care Quality Commission and GMC that high-quality medicine is being practised in line with current teaching. PROMS are a powerful set of data for the annual clinician Appraisal and goes towards the revalidation of Practitioners with the GMC.
