I highly recommend Meg Touhey's program!
I wish there was an option to give 10 stars! Meg and her program changed my life. I was struggling in my relationship, my life. I am coming up to the end of my second year in the program! Meg's program provides high level coaching, communication skills, and a platform to find yourself, get clarity and live your best life. I found my voice, and I now live from my heart, it's changed how I look at all my relationships, it's empowered me, and I am who I'm meant to be. I feel authentically aligned and confident. Meg has created the most amazing program for women and I highly recommend it, money well spent!
She's manipulating emotional women in…
She's manipulating emotional women in crisis. I signed up for a breakthrough call and it was canceled the morning of with an apology and suggestion to buy her course. I immediately saw through the entire marketing ploy. "Sign up for a free breakthrough call, quick, space is limited! Oh, oopsy, we're overbooked, we have to cancel, but you can buy our course... funnel, funnel, sales funnel."
The bait and switch was so obvious. Lying to and manipulating women who are already in a time of crisis, under the guise of being helpful is a disgusting low. I now question everything in her videos – did she just lift her theories on relationships from other coaches out there? I wont trust a thing that comes out of her mouth anymore.
This is a total scam and I am appalled…
This is a total scam and I am appalled that I didn’t see that from the get go. This ‘company’ preys on vulnerable women in desperate situations. My ridiculous breakthrough call involved the ‘coach’ asking deep and intense questions and pretending to be sympathetic. When I asked about the actual program and cost it was a complete change of tone: the ‘coach’ used everything I had vulnerably shared against me. I was shocked when she FINALLY told me the cost: $20,000. When I said that I could not afford that and didn’t make such big financial decisions without my spouse, she actually said ‘he’s already mad at you so who cares?’ It was guilt and shame to get you to commit on the call to cost. Meanwhile she shared very little of what the program actually consisted of. What a horrible experience. These people should be ashamed of themselves. I am repulsed.
This was the worst call I’ve ever had- CAUTION
This was the worst call I’ve ever had. The call was supposed to last 45 minutes. It lasted an hour and a half. The coach was asking me questions over and over waiting for a different response other than “I don’t know, but I’m curious to explore.” She really did nail the head on a lot of issues in our relationship that I knew were there, so that part was spot on. But I looked into it more after the call ended and the coach used what’s called “emotional excavation” as a tactic to get their potential clients to feel emotionally desperate for a fix, which would then be easier when they ask you the final questions.. “are you ready to say yes, and invest in your future?” Emotional excavation is not used in a clinical setting when seeing a licensed psychologist. Only after I said that I’m not sure I’m ready yet but I’d like to know the price before committing to anything.. then she went on this whole tirade of making me feel guilty that would inevitably make some people crack and say yes. But I saw through the tactic. I told her straight out this is a manipulative tactic and won’t work on me. She quickly ended with “I’m going to end the call now cause I don’t think you’re a good fit for our program.” I also don’t like that they asked for our income level before the call. If they truly wanted to help people and not just make money, this wouldn’t be a question on an application. Please use caution when booking your call!
Unethical marketing and
I would not recommend trusting your heartfelt thoughts and concerns to this company. Although I did get some “aha” moments in my breakthrough call, I felt pressured to say yes on the spot even though I told the coach I would not be comfortable doing so. When she told me it was $20,000 ($15,000 if I paid up front) for the following I was shocked!
- [ ] 12 weeks Megs content (video)
- [ ] Two live Q & A per week
- [ ] One on one’s personal mindset coach 4 of them
- [ ] Email direct support
- [ ] Membership private clients
As someone with a Marketing and Communication background I feel like this company preys on the desperation of women who are truly looking for a solution to save their relationships. This was a very unethical way to glean very personal information (recorded) and the pressure to sign up on the spot felt disingenuous! Do NOT do the breakthrough call. It’s simply a marketing call.
Beware!
Had a 45 minute call that in the end felt very unsafe - so much pressure and not a lot of transparency - seemed deceptive - which, if you are dealing with any kind of betrayal doesn't feel great. Feeling like I have to recovery from this as well.
ABUSIVE COUNSELORS/SALES TACTICS!!!
I wish there was an option for zero stars.
COUNSELORS THAT ABUSE!!!
One of her coaches gives you a free 45 minute call and it starts out amazing. They pull stuff out of you that’s raw, things from your past, it goes deep. Then once they get you down to your deepest emotions and in your most vulnerable state, you’re told their counseling costs $20,000 for a 12 week program. You read that right, $20,000!!!!!!!! But of course if you move forward today, AND pay in full up front, it’s “only” $13,000. When you tell them you don’t have that kind of money laying around, they start recapping everything you said about your marriage, your past, your life, and USE IT TO MANIPULATE YOU into moving forward with them!!! It’s the most disgusting, despicable tactic I’ve ever seen a “therapist” do to someone. It’s GASLIGHTING and pure manipulation and the world needs to know!!! She had me on the phone for another 45 min trying to convince me I should go behind my husbands back and open a credit card or take out a loan for their counseling! Like that’s going to really do great things for my marriage?!?! (Side note, our problems are nothing major that a counselor that takes insurance can fix) $13,000!!!!! But truly, the worst part was I left the phone call feeling angry, betrayed, manipulated and that is NOT someone I would want counseling me!!!!
I was very put off from the free…
I was very put off from the free consult call. I felt the person I was speaking with to be very pushy. She was busy trying to diagnose me without even getting to know me. She also refused to provide pricing when I asked. The call felt very uncomfortable and not friendly. I do not know if this whole operation is a scam or legit, but I did not feel I could trust them.
So much pressure to pay 20k
The free Breakthrough call started off really well, the counselor asked me questions, listened to me, often interrupted me to keep me on track. Then when the pressured sales started it felt horrible. She introduced the program to me, asked me if I had any questions and did her best to answer them. But the one she refused to answer was « how much does the program cost? » we went round and round in circles about how I am falling back to old patterns of my analytical brain by focusing on the price. She made it feel like I was flawed by wanting to know the cost. She was pushing me to agree to the program without knowing the cost. After 20 mins of this, she finally told me it was $20K USD, and if I made my decision know it could be $15k. I told her I didn’t have that money, more like I didn’t any to spend that amount of money. She continued to pressure me asking me how much I had in my savings, emergency fund, on my all my credit cards. Saying a wise woman is « decisive and resourceful » encouraging me to use all my savings and emergency fund on this program. I said no I was uncomfortable with that and using all my money on one thing brings up other issues of insecurity. She wouldn’t understand and kept saying I’d end up divorced and even more unhappy. She suggested taking out loans, maxing out credit cards. I told her maxing out your credit card for a purchase you know you can’t pay for is financial irresponsible. She guilted me further. This was feeling like a massive scam. I did not feel comfortable at all, I hated the conversation. What was supposed to be an hour long call turned into a 2.5 hour guilt trip and pressure torture session. I do not recommend taking that terrible breakthrough call. They are preying on vulnerable women going through a difficult time.
Deceptive
I have come across her Facebook ads multiple times and decided to do the free class. They promise you can fix everything yourself and hubby will just come along natural. Unrealistic states but still decided to book the one on one coach call to learn more. You are asked a series of questions about your marriage but the one questions that got me thinking was the income. I immediately remembered her priming us by saying we need to invest in this. Well I selected the lowest income option. They dont need to know my income and was presented with tons of days and times to choose from. I selected one and within a half an hour I had an email from the coach canceling my session. Stating that they had an overwhelming response and no coaches available but offering me a DIY almost $300 program. Now after finding out how much they want for this they screen people out by the income question. Instead of just being straight up to begin with I believe people should stay very very far away from this
She may be an avatar; find her on Linkedin
Reach out to her directly on Linkedin and make your comments public. I think she has a very good message; however, the company running this online growth campaign for her business is extremely predatory and certainly manipulative.
Her education history on Linkedin doesn't line up with what is said the call to action pitch video that is designed to get you to book the 45min session.
There is a chance the sales video we all see on socials is an avatar and the whole thing is a scam.
Would be good to check with her directly on Linkedin messages.
I just got off my Breakthrough call
I just got off my Breakthrough call, I felt the representative was inquisitive and helpful. I have not purchased the program, and am sad to read these reviews that mention manipulation and abuse. I did not experience these things, but the representative did not manage to get my "why" strong enough to get to program pricing. based on what I'm seeing online, it's really expensive and I won't be reaching back out. I don't think my time was wasted, I felt like it helped me figure out the root of my insecurities and look for ways to change myself.
Disappointed
WTH ? Free access ? Listened to the 45 minutes and it cut off with no explanation . Or was that a cash grab ??? Loved where it was going ., then cut off and crickets Guess I got snookered again . Shame on you ..( glad I didn’t put any cash in ).
They are predators!
They are predators, preying on women who are vulnerable and struggle with their relationships. After digging through your personal life, the breakthrough call turns into a pressure-cooking sales pitch where they repeatedly asked you to think what will likely happen if you dont enroll in their program: your spouse will divorce you, your kids will hate you, and you will never be fulfilled. They call this discussion a DECISION-making call that only elite women would qualify and be invited to enroll in their special program WITHOUT even disclosing how much it would cost. Ladies, nothing breakthrough would happen during the call other than creating an opportunity to let someone exploit your bank account, dignity, and sanity. That is THEIR breakthrough, not your breakthrough. Based on their tactics, you will be out of pocket for $10K+ without any assurance that you will restore your relationship. Every other posts below ring truth. I wish I had checked TrustPilot before I accepted the invitation as it was a complete waste of my time. STAY AWAY!
Meg Tuohey advertises a “free…
Meg Tuohey advertises a “free breakthrough call”, supposedly in order to help women get clarity on their marriage situation and then cancels the call, saying she doesn’t have enough coaches to fulfill all the calls. Total scam!! I suspect because I honestly reported financial issues on her intake quiz. If it seems too good to be true, it is. SUPER LAME.
NOT SAFE
NOT SAFE! I am a licensed therapist and can say that while it sounds like some of what they offer may be helpful (for example I have heard great things about the Gottman Institute) the tactics that were used in the initial call are absolutely UNETHICAL. I was open and honest about my relationship but at the time I wasn’t feeling angry or despairing, I told her I was feeling more hopeful and empowered. She turned this against me telling me I was not emotionally connected and heady. I am a very emotionally intelligent and heart centered human. I identified feelings during the call, even how the feelings presented somatically, they just weren’t the kinds of feelings that gets someone to jump on a $13k investment (ie not desperate) I shared a vulnerable thing my mom had once said to me and at the end of the call she used it against me in an emotionally unsafe, potentially even abusive way which was certainly a last ditch attempt at manipulating and bullying me to join the program. I’m going to do an Gottman Institute workshop instead for about $100! And have reported Meg to the BBB.
Not professional behavior from a “therapist “, bullied for $$$$$
Found this program on social media. I watched the 45 minute master class and scheduled an appointment for the next day. The call came and I got a “therapist” named August. She stated she would be working with me to quickly get to the bottom of my issues and deciding if I was a good fit for the program. She was asking questions to which many of I did not have a quick enough answer for. So she stated that my lack of answers showed I had X, Y, Z issues and thought I was not perfect. She was quit accusatory but I tried to keep an open mind as I really did want change in my situation. Quickly she had me crying with what all my problems were and how I ended up here and it being my fault. She ended up staying I qualified and began to go over what all was included with the cost of the program. A video weekly for twelve weeks in three sections. Two zoom calls twice a week that was Q & A, and a social media group . I started to have my doubts as this was not the therapy I was looking for and I had a moment to think about out how I was treated and how quickly I believe my vulnerability had been violated. She then begins with that it would be 20k but they marked down this and that and it was 13k. She went through all the payment details and said I had to give them 5k while on the phone with her. I told her I couldn’t possible give her that kind of money without speaking with my husband . She began to get angry and belittle me. She used some of the info from our call to tell me what all was my fault and if I wanted to help my marriage I had to do this and kept pressuring and bullying me. She even used my Faith against me. She said I just needed to do it and there was no reason to speak to my husband about it . No matter how many times I said I would not break trust with my husband , this has always been an agreement between he and I concerning large purchases, by simply handing over that amount of cash she just got more and and more aggressive. I finally told her I was feeling bullied and pressured and I would not be making a decision under that type of duress and she told me I would never make it nor would my marriage . She said there was no need for niceties that we would just end the call! WOW!!! Dodged a bullet!
I did the 45 minute “breakthrough call”…
I did the 45 minute “breakthrough call” which was primarily a bunch of haranguing to get me to tell her why I needed to make changes NOW. Where was I on a scale of 1 to 10. She harassed me about not wanting to make changes bad enough to get a break through - asking me the same questions over and over. Did I really want it bad enough. I guess I didn’t because I never hit the pricing pitch portion of the call - I guess they can only help certain clients that beg for it.
Not Supportive Of Women With Special Needs
I saw Megan Tuoheys add on you tube and wanted to know more so I booked a breakthrough call. This was a big step for me. I'm neurodivergent and ADHD so scheduling an appointment comes with a bit of anxiety but I prepared for the breakthrough call. An hour before my appointment the call was canceled. I booked another call and prepared for it and the same thing occured. The call was canceled at the last minute. I gave up after the second missed breakthrough call. It felt like rejection and no reason was given as to why both calls were cancelled. I'm guessing it had to do with financial reasons or due to me being neurodivergent. I let it go and moved on. A week later I get an email explaining the special care this program takes with individuals whom are neurodivergent, ADHD and other disabilities. I thought it was honest and appreciated being contacted. The email stated that whomever sent it would have time the next day to talk. The email read as if Megan was sending it herself. Needless to say the call was cancelled for the third time. I understand individuals get busy and life happens but to personally contact me stating they work with people with special needs and cancel for the third time is unacceptable. It causes anxiety. I felt I was rejected and skipped over especially when I came to terms with letting the whole program go after the second cancelled call. This is Not a supportive outlet for women with disabilities. It's unfortunate because I really thought this would be a supportive experience but it's anything but.
This is a joke
This is a joke, don't go for the crap Megtuohey.com is not providing for women. I was promised life time access to all of the videos. I was able to access them for a week, after that all information was denied to me. I did pay the $13,000. What I got out of the program was how to do a rapport. That is helpful. I never did get a session with Meg; instead, I saw a therapist named Deb Erikson. They make it sound like a wonderful success story. I didn't feel like they were able to help me because they were unable to spend the time needed with me. If I had it to do over again, I would not. Meg has got a good racket going on. From reading the rest of the reviews, they are collecting a wide range of money from women. Isn't it interesting how one person's cost is $13,000 and another's cost is $20,000? I hate to write a review like this but when they promised me life time access to the videos and now less than 3 weeks after I've left the MRW I no longer have access.
