After only a few months from moving into our new home, we had an unfortunate & significant water escape which essentially required a full kitchen replacement.
We opted to use a local business MEL Developments who we were aware of via social media & past customers and post the completion are absolutely delighted with our choice.
Despite challenges with our insurers, MEL & the team were fully understanding, supportive & flexible to align to dates to start. Not just that but the team who effectively rebuilt the kitchen were terrifically pleasant, hard working & have completed a first class job enabling us to have what is our dream kitchen.

We would highly recommend MEL to anybody unsure of who to go with, you won’t be disappointed.

MEL have been a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. First of all, they came back to me when I sent Laura my initial enquiry. So many others didn’t. From there, they came out to look at what I needed doing, a price and date was agreed and it was as simple as that. The MEL team turned up on time and the work was carried out to a high standard. The guys really cracked on. I’d certainly recommend.

Andy and his team go above and beyond great set off lads and I’d recommend them to anybody infact I already have !! .

We had our garage converted into a bedroom with an en-suite by MEL Developments Yorkshire Ltd and we’re absolutely over the moon with the results!

From the start, the team were friendly, helpful, and really easy to work with. They listened to what we wanted, gave great advice, and kept us in the loop throughout the whole process.

The work was done to a really high standard – everything looks amazing and it’s now one of our favourite rooms in the house. The en-suite is especially impressive! The team were always on time, cleaned up after themselves, and made the whole experience really smooth and stress-free.

Would 100% recommend MEL Developments Yorkshire Ltd – reliable, professional, and great at what they do. We’ll definitely use them again for future projects!

Just had a new bathroom & a room conversion completed by Andy & his team. We now have 2 absolutely superb new rooms that are just what we needed. The finish is exceptionally impressive and the works were completed by a team of talented tradesmen. Difficult to write in a few words how much I would recommend using Mel Developments as they have done a fantastic job for us.

These guys are absolute Legends, and they came to the rescue for me and my family by so generously offering their services for free after a family bereavement left us in a very difficult position. I can't put into words how professional, friendly and super skilled this firm is, and the job they did is second to none. I will never forget what they did for my family and cannot say enough good things about how quality this firm is, and all there staff are so hard working and dedicated to getting a first class completed.Thankyou from the bottom of my ❤️ heart guys. I'm absolutely delighted with the loft conversion. The team managed to turn the architect's vision into reality, despite some major logistical problems (it's a bit of a quirky house) and horrendous weather at times. A very friendly and helpful team; great problem solvers too, who also demonstrated flexibility in accommodating some requests I made to personalise fixtures and fittings.

Not only did they manage to arrive half an hour after our kitchen was delivered to our house, they did the job very quickly and I can’t fault any of the work they completed on our extension! From fitting the kitchen to laying our flooring to changing our internal doors and much much more. From start to finish these boys were amazing and would absolutely be having them back when we decide what our next project on our home is!! 10/10 :)

We have been so impressed by Mel developments, on the rebuild and extension of our bungalow. They have shown professionalism and a “no problem” attitude throughout the process. They truly work as a great team, and they have stuck to every promise they have made us in creating our dream home. We can not thank them all enough for all their hard work, and would highly recommend them to anyone else.

From the start when we first met Andy, to today, where the work is almost complete, my partner and I have been so impressed, not just with Andy, but also with all of his team, from the bricklayers and labourers through to the joiners, plasterer, roofers and electricians. They were all polite, on time and obviously skilled craftsmen.
Having just moved into the area, I didn't know who to contact, until our architect recommended MEL Developments.
We wanted a kitchen extension, a complete re-roof, a change of room for the bathroom, plus the total house disruption of a complete re-wire while we still lived in the house.
That way madness lies!
However, despite the horrendous weather, Covid striking most of the team last Autumn, unavoidable delays in product supplies and the Christmas break, Andy has always been the calm, efficient, practical centre of everything, quietly directing his team.
We are nearing the end, barring the inevitable snagging and total house decoration left, and we can now start really appreciating what a great recommendation and lucky find MEL Developments was.
A huge thankyou to Julie who was always efficient at passing messages on and answering other questions, and to Andy with his calming phrase of, 'That's not a problem.' inevitably followed by a smile when we were tearing our hair out at some Molehill which we'd made out to be higher than Everest.
In our minds, Trustpilot's 5* rating simply isn't enough. We'd gladly double that.

We would highly recommend Mel Developments as they were fantastic for our first time working with builders whilst renovating our house. We contacted quite a few builders after working with our architects, and Andy at Mel Developments took genuine interest in the project, asking questions and offering suggestions when he first came to look. We felt reassured that they were the company to go with and were happy to wait for when they could start.

Throughout the process, both Laura and Andy have been really responsive and helpful, always there to answer any questions we had. Despite me having lots of questions throughout the build, they were always happy and quick to answer.

The team were all professional but also personable, they were at ours most days for a few months so it was important for us they were approachable which they definitely were. Andy also gave us some suggestions throughout the build which were helpful and we also got some great news that they were able to dig down deeper into the ground which gave us really good head height in the kitchen.

Pleased with the joinery too with a cupboard done by Gaz and bench seating by Jack. They’ve made such a difference to the space.

The kitchen fitter was very helpful and we were impressed with the plastering that was done too.

Andy and Laura also sourced bathroom fittings for us which made life so much easier, especially as we were working with a small space.

Overall, really happy with the end result, the transformation is amazing, it’s a completely different space and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Good project management of all the trades involved. Helpful in offering solutions to keep costs within budget. Just all round good guys!

From the beginning we found Laura very helpful and supportive in arranging for the works to begin. She provided advice including images of different ideas for the project. We always felt we could contact Laura with any questions we needed to ask.
We also found Andy and his team very professional and they were prepared to do that little bit extra to add the finishing touches that we required. When extra trades people were employed they too were courteous and always asked us our preferences to make sure they completed the task to our wishes.
