I used Mercado Libre for over 4 years. Numerous times a seller would cancel my order than send me another payment link. I almost fell for it the first time. If I tried to reorder they would just cancel and ignore my messages. They were clearly trying to scam me.

Aside from these many scammers I did navigate Mercado libre for 4 years without an issue.

Finally this year I decided to start reporting each time I ran into a scammer. Shortly after Mercado Libre started rejecting my credit card.

They first told me I needed to verify my identity again. So I jumped through there hoops. After 3 months and 15 attempts to verify my identity. They finally sent me a message that I was verified and I could continue to use the service as I had before.

I attempted to make a purchase, but the system still said my credit card doesn't pass their security checks.

So after 3 more consultations I'm told I can only use their service if I pay through oxxo...

Meanwhile I have no issue using Amazon or any other service.

So what should I believe? They want to get me off the system to protect their fraudsters? Or get me into a payment system that would be easier to defraud? It's my only guess...

Terrible contacting service. contracts the worst delivery services in the world just to lazy to come to your house. They call you and ask for direction. Explained them but they never showed up 2 times on the same delivery.

Never shop with Mercado Libre. Mercado Libre hoarders Thief Sellers.
I will be closing my account, although I admit, in the past few years I did find better prices and things I could not order on amazon USA nor Amazon Mx. I will simply never support a programed dishonesty.
Mercado Libre is hoarding sellers who are selling phantom items.
They never ship.
These sellers are allowed to use the “Buy Now” instead of “Put to Basket” option. Mercado Libre set up this option and it seems it is only for one reason- to rip off buyers. This option allows a Thief Seller to say that they will ship in 65 days. They know from the get go that Mercado Libre will not do a thing to refund money, nor that they will be red flagged by Mercado Libre and removed from the platform. This is because the ML policy allows filing any complaint only up to 60 days. In short, Mercado Libre, fully aware, participates in this fraud.
I will never again buy from Mercado Libre. Amazon MX is getting better. Amazon USA ships a lot, and more and more individual business are improving their online sales. I am testing as I write a “boarder less” reputable company in Texas to where I can ship amazon orders that don’t ship to MX directly. Mercado Libre will not survive harvesting Thief Sellers. If they do it means that enough buyers who are ripped off continue their relationship with the dishonest company.

Terrible company. You can buy anything easily but everything you buy on Mercado Libre breaks within a month and the hassle you need to go through just to get the product fixed under warranty is unfair. We bought a coffee machine and a HP comupter. Both broke within a month. We're still waiting for the coffee company to send the parts to fix the machine and it's been a month already waiting. Don't buy from Mercado Libre.

The web page is very bad, a purchases do not arrive. Is a fraud. Apalling.

Mercadolibre accepted my payment at OXXO. Within minutes the transaction was cancelled. No options for returning my payment has been available. Feels like a direct theft.

Public sales site that allows every scammer to profit there. The claim to have payment insurance but when you request that, they say you paid directly so no insurance! But once you click purchase, there's no option to pay through mercadolibre but only to pay direct to the vendor.

Mercadolibre charged me for an item on April 1, 2020. The merchant immediately cancelled and claimed my money would be returned to my credit card, by April 27!!!! What the Hell is that? 25-26 days to return money from a cancelled purchase?
Well, it's now April 27 and of course no money returned. No phone number nor email contact available. Nothing but FAQ's and those lead no where.
Be VERY careful of ever using Mercadolibre for purchases as they're not reliable and can easily take your money and never return it.
My only recourse now is to dispute the charge with my credit card company as this is apparently a scam company.

The guarantee from mercado libre is a joke. I received a computer with a bad cable so I couldn't even charge the computer .I sent the computer back ..I saved the documentation.. I took video tapes of the problem and they just dropped the claim and forgot about it. Now I can't get ahold of anybody on the phone or otherwise

Ordered a product for $200 dollars from Mercado Libre in Mexico and received something completely different. Been totally ripped off and have no way to contact them. Worst onlinc company out there. STAY AWAY

This online business doesn’t care about customer service. Problems of communication, they don’t answer emails, internet connections, poor , to say the least, customer service. Too bad, i wanted to buy items worth total 25 000 pesos. I’ll bring my business somewhere else!

Impossible to buy here without an INE. I tried through my bank, no dice. This company sucks. Impossible to contact. Terrible. A real shame too.

I purchased a product and later that day was told the product was unavailable. I've now been trying for over a month to get my money refunded that they put in my MercadoLibre account.

I've been lied to 5 times now about when the money would show up in my account. I have been told to have 'peace of mind' the money is coming and yet it never shows up when they say it will. I'm convinced they want me to forget about it so they can just keep my cash.

Incredibly poor service and very dishonest. I will never attempt to purchase anything from them again. Avoid at ALL costs.

No way to contact. No way to purchase if you do not have Mexican INE card. Soooooooooooooooooo stupid.

I am an American living in Cololmbia. Under no circumstances can this company be trusted. No working telephone number or email support. Government here has done nothing about it and allows this company to operate unabated. I BOUGHT a telephone for 1.5 million pesos recently and the seller has disappeared. Now my account has been locked and I have no way to contact mercadolibre.

Don't buy any electronics or anything over 100 dollars on. This website is inconsistent with everything. I bought a samsung tablet for my girlfriend mother for her birthday. The first seller never answered once he got the money. Good thing I had mercado pay protection and I got the money back. Mercado Libre never did anything to this seller and he still selling on their website. Did the same happened with another seller. Seller took 6 days to give me my money back. Make things worse Mercado Libre traps their money the seller gives you back on their website to either buy more products that they sell on their website or transfer to a mexican bank. The problem is that, I am American and used American bank card to buy the tablet and their is no option to transfer your money back to your account to which you paid. I bought some other stuff prior to this but nothing expensive and they arrived just to be fair on time. Also they in no customer service line available to call someone if you have a problem. My recommendation is DON'T TRUST this website and don't buy anything unless you have MERCADO PROTECTION.

I use MercadoLibre often, but I hate they don't have customer support.

You have to figure out all by yourself with a rigid FAQ they have on their website.

What about question they haven't answered on their FAQ?

And they're just like that and nothing can be changed...
