I'm sorry to hear you had a not fully satisfying experience on our platform. It seems that you are relating to the two-factor authentication set up on our website. It's made for the sake of our users security, as it prevents third parties from using your account with stolen login details in order to scam the other users. Of course sometimes it takes a little bit more time to log in, but the security involved is worth it, both for your business as well as your privacy. We are sorry that you have fallen a victim of fraud on our platform. Please receive our sincere apologies on behalf of the sellers who have not met the standards of the honest conduct and professionalism.

Please note that Merkandi has never participated in any organised crime and we do not scam buyers. In fact, Merkandi has implemented many strategies to increase safety on our platform, among others, we verify the sellers before they are allowed to publish offers for sale, we check their company documents, do an online research on them, contact the employees operating on their websites/social media to confirm their identity, and in case of any doubt we also verify authenticity of the invoices issued by their suppliers on the stock they offer for sale. Nevertheless, we are not a third party to the transactions between the buyers and sellers, and, thus, we do not offer any warranty on those transactions. We state that clearly in our Terms and Conditions, which are accepted by each user of Merkandi during the process of registration. In case of fraud, we do not allow for the fraudster to stay on the platform by any means. To the contrary, we warn other users who contacted such a fraudster by mailing, and after investigation of the case we ban such a person from the platform. We also try to help the victims of scam during intermediation between them and the scam seller, as well as by offering them advice on what they should do to bring the fraudster to account. We did exactly the same in the case of the author of the review in question. Unfortunately, we are not able to prevent scam on our platform in 100%. Nevertheless, we have implemented many strategies to diminish its occurrence, and we are constantly developing new ones. We have created a section for opinions from other buyers, where the users who have already purchased products from the sellers on Merkandi can share feedback on them and rate them. We have created articles dedicated to increasing safety of the transactions, which are available in our Guidelines. Apart from that, we always advise caution when contacting new sellers on the platform when there is not much feedback gathered on them yet.

We hope that in the future our platform will be scam-free thanks to the constant development and suggestions shared by our clients. Therefore, we would like to thank you for the time that you took to share your experience with us. It shows us where we should focus our effors to make our platform an even safer place for e-commerce.

Merkandi is an international wholesale trading platform, which does not intermediate in the transactions between the buyers and sellers. Nevertheless, as we have been present on the market for over 11 years, our staff does our best to increment the safety between the users of the platform. Thanks to our procedures, we have managed to significantly decrease the occurence of fraud on our platform, which still happens sometimes, but very rarely. We admit that our procedures are not perfect, therefore, we cannot exclude by 100% a possibility that a given company stops fulfilling their obligations towards the clients at some point. For this reason, we always advise caution when dealing with new sellers, as we do not offer guarantee on the transactions between the buyers and sellers. We mention about it in many places on our platform, including our Terms and Conditions, which are accepted by each user at registration. We also have articles in our Guildelines concerning good practices to avoid becomming a victim of fraud.

Please note that we aim at making our platform scam-free. Therefore, apart from our verification procedures, we also monitor the offers and new sellers, and in the case of suspicion of any fraudulent behaviour we act immediately by carrying out additional verification and blocking the account of the person suspected of it. If we are unable to complete additional verification, the clients who were in contact with the person suspected of fraudulent behaviour receive a warning email about it. We never ignore the users reporting any problem to us. We always respond as soon as possible. If the fraud was actually committed, we inform our clients that they should report it immediately at their local police station and to the Interpol. We are able to provide all the necessary information about the user to the police agent investigating the case, and we inform our clients about it. Unfortunately, our experience shows that the users of the platform very rarely report fraud to the police, therefore, we are unable to help them. We are sorry if this causes anyone to feel disappointed.

Thank you for sharing this opinion with us. We are sorry that your experience on our platform did not meet your expectations, and we apologise on behalf of those sellers whose activity on the platform resulted to be dissapointing to you.

The sellers on Merkandi are responsible for setting the expiration date for their offers at the stage of submiting a new offer through the form. There is also an option to set the offer as permanent, which is a useful feature in case of regular stock. As we have tens of thousands of offers, we are unable to control if the sellers have the goods still in stock, and this is not our responsibility, however, we can do such an additional check on request by a buyer. Please note that good deals attract many buyers very quickly, therefore we are not suprised that the goods get sold fast and the offers become no longer valid. Unfortunately, some sellers do not have time to deactivate the offers on Merkandi, even though they are responsible for doing so. Our Seller's regulations require each seller to provide only true information in their offers and keep the response rate above 80%. If a seller stops responding to the inquiries from our Clients on a regular basis, we deactivate his/her selling profile until all the Clients are attended.

Regarding the verification procedures, before the sellers are admitted on the platform, our Team carries out verification to confirm identity of the seller and check if a given company exists and has an active status in the company register.
