Has Michie's Pharmacy directly discriminated against mentally ill?
Michie's sign up under various pharmaceutical professional bodies to support patients and people in the community with mental health conditions. This is extra important in these times of pandemic. However, the owner of this pharmacy, based in Aberdeen, has banned a person from entering any of their shops, or phoning them. Their reason? The person had a mental breakdown in a rival pharmacy requiring them to be hospitalised. Instead of trying to offer support from their home town pharmacy this patient was arbitrarily banned from all access to pharmacies in their locality. So if you have a mental health condition please be aware that direct discrimination just might come from a source meant to providing you with support.
