Fiona is a brilliant tutor. We used her services while preparing my son for the 11+ admission exams and with her help he got into his favourite school. Fiona is able to tailor the lessons for the student and this makes a great difference compared to big companies that use standard programs (we tried one of them). She also has an in dept knowledge of the school system and she was able to advise us throughout the whole process. I can’t thank her enough! I highly recommend her.

Fiona was my mentor during my final year of applications for vacation schemes and training contracts. Fiona's lessons are very dynamic and she uses plenty of interesting materials and learning sources. She gradually exposes you to new strategies, gives a lot of useful tips and explains patiently. Fiona has helped me become faster and better at compression and especially helped me with essays. She explained everything from the structure to what techniques I should use and how much time to spend on each paragraph. Fiona has also helped me with interviews and I have become more confident whilst answering the questions. I would recommend Fiona to everyone, she is an amazing tutor.

It was clear from the beginning that she knows how and was able to develop a very good relationship with our son. She was encouraging and flexible in her approach and she has taken both his intellectual and emotional needs into account. Fiona was able to balance well between being friendly and supportive but also firm and straightforward when needed.

I am grateful to Fiona tutoring my son for the last 8 months twice a week. My son got to an interview level in one of the top-scoring independent London schools.
She is amazing with kids. She definitely managed to win my boy’s heart. My son was always happy to have a lesson with her even after tiring day in the school. She is inspiring and demanding, yet tactful.

My son practised on exam past papers of different schools and some purchased study materials. After reviewing homework Fiona targeted weakest areas of knowledge. This approach certainly brought results.

Fiona’s method is not just to teach to the exam, but to strengthen Math, English and Reasoning skills taking into account pupil’s personality.

She was very supportive and encouraging throughout the tuition months, but especially during the exam sitting period.

It was a pleasure to have Fiona as a tutor to help my daughter with her 11+ Maths preparations. She was always looking forward to the lessons and said to me that Fiona was the best teacher she ever had and could make anything look simple and easy to grasp. My daughter never found maths too easy during her time in a state primary, but after a couple of months of weekly sessions with Fiona she became a lot more confident both in her school maths lessons and in her grammar selection exams, which she successfully passed. As parents, we were impressed with Fiona's professionalism and her use of technology in lessons, which really helped with subsequent revisions at home. She was punctual but also very accommodating if there were issues on our side, and gave us regular feedback after each lesson. I would not hesitate to recommend Fiona as a tutor to transform even the least confident child's attitude to Maths!

We had Comprehension sessions with her, and the amount of the useful information she was able to give in that hour was truly outstanding! Even though we only had 2 sessions with her, but the way Fiona had prepared my child, he passed the exam, as she gave all the right tips and further resources to study at home.

My daughter was getting prepared for 11+ admission. We found she was struggling with English Descriptive Writing and some Grammatical framework. We get in contact with Ms. Fiona Mills and with her one to one teaching assistance my daughter feels confident and she has developed better skills and knowledge. Although my daughter was attending a coaching course but I believe during her lessons with Fiona has given her extra boost and confidence. She has performed very well (must say beyond expectation) in the Grammar School admission this year and secured at least 2 best institutes places.

Fiona has been tutoring our son for 6 months now in preparation for the 11+ exams (in both Maths and English). Our son has improved considerably in all areas, particularly in creative writing. From being barely able to write a few basic sentences he can now write 300-word stories using a richer vocabulary, diverse sentence structures and figurative language. Our son can be easily distracted, but Fiona manages to keep him focused and still cover a lot of material during each lesson. At the same time she has established a very good rapport with him. Fiona is very organized and efficient and prepares for every lesson to make sure time is spent productively each time. She is also knowledgeable about exam requirements in different schools and has given us many practical suggestions.

Fiona is an excellent tutor with enormous patience and a warm open personality. Honestly, my daughter loved to see her each week for their lesson. What has been particularly useful is how Fiona links up with school work and incorporates any problems at school into her weekly lesson. This has encouraged my daughter to be mindful of issues, while giving her a space to work it out. She has really helped with my daughter’s confidence. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.
