Written by the company

Mind of Her Own Therapy is a modern hypnotherapy practice helping women calm anxiety, reduce overthinking, and feel more in control of their minds. Founded by Lauren McBorza, a Clinical Scientist turned hypnotherapist, the practice blends solution-focused hypnotherapy with psychotherapy-informed techniques and accessible neuroscience. The approach is designed for women who may look like they are coping on the outside but feel overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, or stuck in patterns of anxious thinking underneath. Sessions focus on helping clients understand how the brain responds to stress, why overthinking can become automatic, and how new, healthier patterns can be built over time. Rather than endlessly revisiting the past, the work is future-focused, practical, and centred on helping clients move toward calm, confidence, and emotional resilience. Mind of Her Own Therapy offers online hypnotherapy sessions, making support accessible wherever clients are based. The experience is warm, supportive, and professional, with a strong emphasis on helping clients feel safe, understood, and empowered throughout the process.

Burnout, stress and hypnotherapy

After a difficult 6 months of burnout, stress, and poor sleep, hypnotherapy helped me relax again. Lauren was warm and knowledgeable, clearly explaining how stress affects the brain and how the sessions could help.

I felt benefits from the very first session—my heart rate dropped, I slept better, and felt noticeably calmer. Even my Whoop data showed lower RHR and BPM during sessions. Highly recommend!

Feeling more positive & in control

Lauren made me feel completely at ease from the very first session. I came to her struggling with anxiety and stress, feeling overwhelmed and fed up. The sessions were all online and it was clear from the start how warm and understanding she is.

She helped me understand why I was feeling the way I was by explaining science on the brain. I loved it.
Since working with Lauren, I have felt calmer, more in control of my negative thoughts and much better at to managing stress. My outlook on life has been so much more positive ever since.

I would highly recommend Lauren to anyone struggling with anxiety or stress, especially if they are considering hypnotherapy.
Thank you!

Thanks for guiding me to re train my brain!

Not only did Lauren make me feel completely at ease with something I had never tried before, but the techniques she taught me worked so well!
I was very close to quitting a half marathon and I remembered what Lauren had worked with me on about visualising how I would feel at the end, and it got me through!
Without those techniques I would have quit, and I can never thank you her enough for what she has trained me to do when a negative thought comes in!
She has definitely helped me re train my brain!

Personable and professional

I started sessions with Lauren a couple of months ago. I was struggling with overthinking, some intrusive thoughts, focussing on and completing tasks.
The sessions taught me how my brain works, helped me identify patterns and left me feeling relaxed and lighter. It has helped me focus more at work and finally finish household tasks that have been left undone for years!
Lauren is personable and approachable, as well as professional. I’d highly recommend her services.

I can now focus and recognise my triggers

I reached out to Lauren when I was feeling overwhelmed with family stuff which was impacting my working life too. I found myself anxious, overthinking and unable to focus on tasks. Having sessions with Lauren helped me to find a space and time to switch off and relax and she helped me put into practice methods to cope and manage moving forwards.
