Greetings from across the pond,
I have only just discovered Minerva and loved their tutorials and fabrics they showcase. I have learned so much in just a few videos. I haven’t bout anything yet, but plan to as our major fashion fabric store has closed and we need to find alternatives. I wrote them and asked them about shipping, duties, etc and promptly got my questions answered between them and Love Notions Patterns - such lovely people. I can’t wait to make my first purchase of Liberty Fabric soon!

Resolution when incorrect item sent
I ordered a couple of pieces of fabric from Minerva with the intention of making some loungewear for a long haul flight, they have a great selection and I have been ordering from them since I started sewing 8 years ago. I have generally been pleased with the fabric I've received, their selection is huge and quality usually good. Their prices have gone up a bit over the past year and a couple of times I have waited for my order to be despatched for almost a week. Their new website is also clearly having some issues still. This most recent order was despatched quickly and I was very pleased with one of my pieces of fabric, but the other was incorrect, which was really frustrating as I was on a schedule. I emailed to ask for this to be resolved, expecting to have to return the incorrect item and cancel the order to reorder elsewhere. I received a quick reply, apologising and assuring me that the correct fabric would be sent out as a priority, I did not have to sent the other fabric back unless I chose to. I was still a bit sceptical if I'm honest, but it was despatched the next day, arrived a day later and is just what I need for my lounge pants. Thank you very much customer service team!
Never Disappointed
Always have excellent service from ease of ordering to delivery. The standard of fabrics are really good. It really help having videos where you can see the handle and how fabric falls.

Past it's prime
Minerva used to be the best online fabric store but sadly not any more. They absolutely have the biggest selection and a really wide range, lots of interesting and unusual fabrics.
But they're no longer fit-for-purpose for professional makers.
Firstly they're usually the most expensive, secondly the shipping is both expensive and slow. Over a week later I'm still waiting on delivery of some samples which took five days to dispatch.
Well I say "samples" but they no longer do samples which is a real shame - you can add a sample to your basket but it's just half a meter.
That's not a sample guys.
It used to be a swatch at a flat price like everywhere else and then for a while it was 0.1m at 10% of the full price which was okay but a half meter is not a sample, and needlessly expensive if you're wanting to compare a few fabrics for a project. I've paid £10.50 for two samples and over a week later they're still not here. Five samples from another company was £8.50 and arrived next day, they got my order.
Minerva’s End of Rolls Sale
I recently attended Minerva’s End of Rolls Sale. I travelled 2 hours each way to go to the sale.
The event was very well organised. It was very easy to find the type of material I was looking for. The quality of the material sold by Minerva is excellent. My oh my what bargains there were! I bought enough fabric to last several months.
There seems to be a very healthy working atmosphere within the company. Everyone I met was helpful and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble.
Can’t wait for the next sale!

TERRIBLE SERVICE
Today I had to chase this awful company up again for my order which I placed with them on the 27th January. After calling for the 3rd time to be told that they are still waiting for the supplier to deliver the material in another 10 - 14 days. The order I made was for my wedding dress and now this has caused problems as my dressmaker really needed the material in February to start making it so I would have it on time for my big day, that is no longer possible. I am utterly devastated and has really caused me such sadness. The company is very misleading and make up their excuses as they go along instead of being honest, no doubt they don’t care because it’s not going to affect them. I wonder how long it will take to get my money back? Watch this space.
Very slow dispatch and an item missing
My order took 10 days to arrive and when it did arrive there was an item missing!
My confirmation email said there would be a delay but it's a bit useless telling customers that after they've already paid.
Unless they send me my missing item I won't be ordering again.

Dreadful Experience
Dreadful despatch time. Order placed a week ago and when I phoned this morning I was told it's not even been picked yet. Apparently there's a note on the website but I've just checked and I can't find any mention of a delay anywhere.
Thought I'd check my email confirmation and realised I didn't get one, so I've asked for that to be resent - I've done a complete system search in case I deleted it by accident and I definitely didn't receive.
Customer Service is appalling - what's happened Minerva? You used to be so good and now you're hopeless!

Painfully slow dispatch time
The last few orders I’ve had to chase dispatch after nothing has happened for around six days - I always get the same response of an unusually high volume of orders & lack of staff, perhaps it’s time to hire some more help.
Either way I’ve been sourcing stuff elsewhere as it’s just not worth the wait & extra hassle of having to chase up every order

Sort out your customer service.
The most frustrating online experience.
They have the most amazing stock but the chances of me placing an order and receiving what I actually ordered in a reasonable time or getting a correct refund takes so long that I’ve finally given up shopping with them. Not even the latest pattern sale will be tempting me. The company doesn’t seem to be listening to their customers. Such a shame.

Don't use if you like to keep order history and save items
Site itself is slow but has some very good fabrics and a massive range, however, over the years I've spent many hundreds of pounds, and had an extensive wish list saved for fabrics I want and twice they have lost all my info and all order history, first time a couple year ago was annoying as I ended up ordering duplicate fabric as i had no history.
Second time last year I even sent them a years order numbers asking if they could put them back onto my account and they said they couldn't.
So all the time and money spent over the last 5 years, the site says ive placed no orders and have no saved items. Won't ever purchase from the site again, something is not right when they keep wiping the account and saying I'm a new customer.
Edit: As per response, I have contacted Minerva multiple times, end result is sorry nothing they can do I need to start again with no order history or loyalty.

Great Products, but Poor Communication and Slow Dispatch
This is my third time ordering from Minerva, and on two occasions, I’ve had to chase my order due to a lack of updates beyond the confirmation email. After emailing, I was told the order would be dispatched and received an apology for the delay, but six days had already passed since placing the order, which doesn’t reflect well from a customer’s perspective.
Now, with my third order, 3–4 days have passed, and once again, I’ve had to follow up. This isn’t a great experience. If you’re unable to meet your stated dispatch times, I feel the website should be updated accordingly, or customers should be informed of delays.
I really like the quality of the products and the great prices, but unfortunately, the service is lacking.
Very slow delivery
I’ve shopped with Minerva multiple times. No issues with quality and they have an excellent range but the delivery times are very frustrating! It’s been very slow in the past and then it got better but now it’s back to extremely slow. I’ve tried chasing my order by email but no response. They always have the excuse that “we’re very busy” but that’s something they need to sort out. It’s not really a valid excuse if they keep saying it.

Excellent quality at very competative…
Excellent quality at very competative prices. Many helpful youtube videos on fabric, sewing techniques etc. My only problem with Minerva is the delivery time. I will use Minerva again but, if I want something in a hurry, I'll order from somewhere else
