I bought this device and it was free to use. However, they've just changed their policy so you now have to pay a minimum of $10 a month or it won't work at all! This was never part of the deal when I purchased the device and had I known they were going to change their policy so you had to pay every month for it to work I never would have purchased. I can't believe this is legal to change the terms after purchase. I asked for a refund for the device and flat out refused.

Bought a Minut sensor last year and now they are trying to force me into a subscription. If Blink still offers a free tier of service, then Minut should be able to do the same. I will be avoiding their products and services from now on.

Got 2 of these for my airbnb listings and wouldn't be without them...

Avoid this dishonest company. They sell you a product and afterwards change the functionality, requiring a subscription to see the basic data the device produces, rendering the product useless.

Minut is a standout product/service. My favorite thing about Minut is the intuitive interface. I’m so annoyed by digital asset companies who make my user experience frustrating.
I’m also thrilled about the upcoming smoke detection.
Here are the features I hope Minut adds in the future: splash page to collect guest emails when they sign in to wifi (StayFi), communicate with smart locks to send digital codes (PointCentral), and enterprise pricing for multifamily complexes.

Bought several of these devices a couple of years ago to monitor our holiday lets. The service has become slower at updating the data on the app I presume because we are on the free starter pack. Just received an email from minut stating the we now have to pay at least £10 per property from January 2024 or our devices will stop working. I find this completely unacceptable and unethical of the company, especially as we invested in their product. I think an offer to purchase the devices back from customers should be made.
I personally would not trust this company.

Illogical and poorly thought through user experience in the app. And now they want a subscription even though they initially sold the product without. Non responsive support.

Just announced that I must pay £120 a year to continue to use the device that I purchased. Pure greed on the companies part. Ongoing server costs would be a few pence per user per month, and was factored into the original price of the unit. I will not be paying this new charge so now have a completely useless device.
Avoid this company. They can't be trusted.

Have had two Minut sensors for just under two years now and they've been working great. Just received an email from them saying that you now need to pay a monthly subscription for them to keep working.
Item is now a brick.
Do not purchase!

Not even two years ago I bought a Minut for 150 Euro with their "free" plan. This is not free, it is prepaid. Now they send out an email telling me that due to the cost of servers, service and staff etc they will cancel all free plans and I need to pay them more every year or my device will be useless.
Their servers, service and staff etc is partially paid by all "free" customers. Dont come here and tell me you are loosing money on us. You set the price on your product.
Fine if you dont want to offer this prepaid plan anymore to new customers but treat your existing ones fairly and respect the deals you already made!

Scam. Offered a standard subscription for free once that you bought a 180 € piece of hardware and the option for pro, paid one. Couple of years later they remove the first option so either you pay further or you are left with a useless piece of plastic (which honestly, is not much more than a motion detector and mic). My full alarm system, much more advanced, costs the same monthly as their “pro” subscription

Paid full price upfront for 2 devices for one home on the understanding that there would be no annual subscription. Now after two years, they want to charge me at a minimum $120 a year.
Thats no way to do business.

I bought two Minuts for different buildings (garage and casita) but discovered that I could not turn the alarm on one of them separately so that turned out to be pretty useless, unless both were empty. The batteries lasted really quite well and they worked well enough. However, there was always a push for a subscription-based service, something that was advertised as not being required. However, with fewer options available to the "free" service, it was becoming less useful so I stopped using them (bearing in mind I spent a lot of money for the products in the first place so I wouldn't call this free anyhow). This has now changed again with the free service being closed down. I have Eufy Security cameras and alarm and there is no subscription service and their product is backed up and their customers respected.

I bought 3 monitors for my home for almost 500 € and a free plan. Two years after they say either I pay a subscription or I can’t use them anymore. I wouldn’t trust this company.

Years ago, at the time of purchase maintenance cost was 0€. I would not have purchased otherwise.
Now they changed their mind and unilaterally decided to start charging, leaving me with a useless piece of hardware if a decide not to pay.
An email saying they have higher cost was all the explanation they give.

Bought Minut for my apartment and convinced many other to do so. After two years they decide to force us to either pay a subscription or our hardware will be rendered useless
Disgusting behavior

I acquired my minut for my home 3 years ago for 100EUR. Now they are terminating buyers from using their minut if they don't paid for a monthly subscription. Notice: free wasn't even free, it was normal user vs a pro subscription. Now they are ending the free option and forcing me into a monthly paid subscription. I'm gonna uninstall their crappy hardware that never met their startup claim capabilities! I hope they go out of business cause I ain't paying not a single €!
