Thank you for sharing your experience. I understand how disappointing it must have been to place a large order expecting the matte finish you selected, only to receive an album that felt far below your expectations.

After trusting us again based on your first positive experience, it’s completely understandable to feel let down by the final product. We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback, and we’ll use your experience to help improve both our product quality and overall customer experience. Beware! They Delete Your Books

Didn’t have any issues with the quality of the books I created. My issue is that 18 months later when I went back to order more copies (because the book this is regarding was an In Memory Of book) Mixbook had deleted all books from my account. Why? And why was I not given any warning? All that work…gone. All the family history…gone. This is not an issue with other photo book companies. They keep your books forever. Thanks a lot Mixbook.

Serious Quality Control Issues

Mixbook was laughably bad. The actual website and user interface is elite and so easy to use and create a photo book, but the printing and customer service was a nightmare. My book was sent with entire blank pages and random missing photos on random pages. Mixbook quickly reprinted it again.. and again and again!! 4 times and every time the book has issues of missing photos. It was a special book for a special day to have party guests sign and write well wishes and they couldn’t even get it right by the party. The last 2 times they assured me too that it was be looked over to ensure it was printed correctly before shipped. Nope, never was. I got my money back and I’ll find a more reputable company to use next time.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating and disappointing it must have been to go through multiple reprints, only to keep receiving books with missing photos and blank pages.

This was clearly a meaningful project for a special occasion, and it’s understandable that missing that moment made the experience even more upsetting. After the time and effort you put into creating the book, repeated issues and unmet assurances would leave anyone feeling let down.

We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback, and we’ll use your experience to help improve both our print quality and support process moving forward.

Customer service is beyond outstanding!

Customer service is beyond outstanding!! I made a mistake uploading poor quality photos and when I questioned the quality of my third book- expressing my disappointment, mixbook was patient and forgiving, directing me to where I should have checked for the quality of my photos before submitting, and then allowing me to redo the entire project at no extra cost! I really appreciate this and will return one day for my 4th book!

(Like they really need another glowing review) but that's what this one will be. I ordered a MAGAZINE style with 76 pages. I'm in the USA. It arrived 2 days before they promised and wasn't sure if the photos off my cell would be clear if I enlarged them "FULL PAGE". I am ECSTATIC at the QUALITY of my magazine book and how it looks overall. Enlarged photos were not blurred. I will definitely be ordering again. Basically, it was better than I expected!!

Frustrated & Disappointed

I ordered a custom photo book through Mixbook and paid for expedited shipping so it would arrive before my grandson moved across the country, because the timing of this gift mattered a great deal to me.
Unfortunately, it did not arrive by the promised delivery date, and my grandson moved.
After the original delivery failed, I spent significant time following up with customer service, tracking shipments, and waiting through multiple “please wait a few more days” requests. Mixbook offered a reprint and shipped it to the new address. That shipment was marked as delivered by UPS, even though the recipient never received it, and there was no photo or specific address confirmation attached to the delivery notice.
At this point, both orders had effectively been lost, and my grandson still had not received this promised gift.
I spent additional time following up with customer service, seeking the promised delivery proof, and waiting through more “please wait a few more days” requests.
Meanwhile, the original shipment eventually appeared at my home in a badly damaged box, confirming that the initial delivery had clearly gone wrong.
Mixbook then offered a third reprint, again to be sent to my grandson’s new address. They also offered a 25% discount on a future order as compensation. Given the amount of time, effort, and energy already spent trying to resolve the situation, I declined and explained that the only way I would consider using Mixbook again would be if the current order was fully refunded. After additional conversations, Mixbook agreed to order yet another reprint and provide a 25% refund on the current order.
At each juncture, Mixbook promised to follow up with me. However, that never happened. Each time, after the waiting deadline had passed, I had to reach out again myself.
The finished book itself is meaningful because of the design I created and the photos I uploaded, and it will be something my family treasures. However, the number of delivery failures and the amount of time I have spent following up made this far more stressful than it should have been.
Customers should not have to repeatedly chase updates to receive a product they already paid for—especially when expedited shipping was purchased.
I hope Mixbook improves their order tracking and resolution process so other customers do not have to invest the same level of time and persistence to get an issue resolved.

Never even seen my photo book

Never even seen my photo book, they use Canada post as a delivery service but do not deliver to a P.O. Box so if you are in a small town or rural there is no way of getting your order, the refund process is drawn out with nothing but excuses

Completely unreliable

Its been a month since ordering, and after confirming the address to customer services a number of times there is still no sign of deliver. No ability for customer services to resolve anything, I expect its just an AI chatbot. I have enjoyed mixbook in the past, but clearly systems have fallen appart.

Not the cheapest but the best

They are not the cheapest but they are the best photobook company by far, so pleased with the quality of the result it looks lavish, and it was so easy to use. I was worried about delivery but they answered quickly and it came earlier than expected! I feel like my photos now shine in a gorgeous travel photo story.

Not user-friendly at all

Not user-friendly at all. You go to the website to try to create a book and it constantly pops up that you should go to the app because it’s easier, so I finally go to the app and there’s no search option. So something that gives me 4600 results has no search option. I Happily moved on to Shutterfly, completed my book and it’s on its way.

Needs improvement

While I appreciated the concept and what initially appeared to be a seamless way to create a photo book, I ultimately encountered numerous frustrating issues with the collage pages and was very disappointed with the final product.

Following the instructions, I added my selected photos to each page and chose a collage layout. The system automatically placed the images, which felt ingenious and promised a simple, efficient, and quick way to build the book. However, the software did not format the pictures properly. Several images were cut off, and some overlapped incorrectly with others. Although I attempted to adjust them, the layout often reverted back to its original, incorrect placement.

My biggest concern was the review process. The preview pages were displayed so small that I did not notice duplicate images bleeding onto adjacent pages. I did not upload these duplicates, so I cannot explain how they appeared. Unfortunately, because the review view was difficult to assess accurately, these errors made it into the printed product.

In my opinion, the platform still has significant room for improvement before it can be considered fully reliable. I was also disappointed with the company’s response to my feedback. While I had already acknowledged missing the errors during review, the issue was attributed solely to user error. Although a discounted reprint was offered, the additional cost—nearly $100 CAD—did not feel reasonable given the circumstances.

I will say the team seemed to care about my satisfaction and I was, in the end, offered a partial refund (although they did make it sound as though it would be a full refund). I did appreciate their understanding that the end product was not as expected nor satisfactory. While I still feel I overpaid for the quality received, the partial refund was also appreciated.

Overall, while the concept is promising, the execution and quality control need improvement. Based on this experience, I would be hesitant to use this company again. I would want to have an improved final review process before committing to my purchase.

Easy to use but quality not great and poor value for money

Poor quality print on some pages and scuff marks on cover. Really poor customer service. Had to chase complaint several times despite the fact that they kept asking me to comment on how amazing their staff were even though they didn’t respond. Eventually got a free replacement book that wasn’t much better. There are definitely better photo book providers out there although I would say that their digital platform was easier to use

Mixbook has by far the best user…

Mixbook has by far the best user interface for photo books anywhere. It was super easy to get all the pics and layouts arranged and published in one sitting. The book itself is stellar quality and construction. They were also excellent in addressing a billing concern, which is generally highly unusual for online retailers. Thanks to your production and customer satisfaction teams!

Good value for money but there's a few issues ...

I love my new photo book ... except for a few things! Please know, I did reach out to Mixbook about my concerns and they were very quick to respond and resolve the problems, which is why my rating is as high as it is. However, I feel that I should leave a review to warn other customers so they can avoid the problems I had. Let's start with a positive -- the new binding no longer hides the edges of the photos in the center of the book! Huge move forward, in my opinion. And now for the negatives -- this was my first time choosing PREMIUM LUSTRE paper and it was a FAIL! The photos are bland, washed out, and blurry! The colors are muted and lack depth. My previous photobook was printed on standard paper and the photos are undeniably more vibrant than those on the premium lustre paper. Mixbook offered to reprint using their auto-enhancement program, but unfortunately this did not improve my photos (in fact, some photos came out even worse!) (And the reprinted book arrived significantly damaged, so that wasn't great either). Also, after only a few days of having the book, the pages began warp and my book no longer sita flat when closed! This isn't an issue with my previous book, the one printed on standard paper, and that's been heavily used for over 2 years. So PLEASE learn from my error and do not choose premium lustre paper for your photo books! It's not worth the extra money, not even by a long shot.
