Written by the company

Mobility For Fighting is a combat-specific mobility and strength training platform for Muay Thai, kickboxing, MMA, and striking athletes. Created by Richard Trovatten, a functional mobility coach with 10+ years of coaching experience at leading gyms across London and the UK, MFF helps fighters expand their usable joint ranges and build the end-range strength, control, and power needed for striking and competing. The training goes well beyond typical stretching. It combines dynamic flexibility, end-range strength and practical combat conditioning, so athletes build applicable capacity for: high kicks, teeps, lean backs, checks, and lots more. More than 300 athletes now train and support each other in the online Mobility For Fighting community, from complete beginners to competitive fighters, coaches, and world champions. Students follow performance-focused programmes with clear structure, short video lessons and progress tracking. The goal is not only to reach new positions, but to fully master them with speed, balance, power and confidence. Mobility For Fighting is for athletes who want better movement, fewer restrictions, more technical freedom, and a body that holds up through hard training. For years to come.

Best investment in yourself

I started Muay Thai a few months ago and realised my lack of mobility was holding me back. High kicks felt impossible, my hips were weak and tight, and I got very sore from training.

I found Mobility For Fighting while looking for mobility routines that actually made sense for Muay Thai. What stood out was that everything is built around movements you use in training, rather than random stretches with no clear purpose. And that it wasn’t hour long sessions.

The lessons are easy to follow, and I like knowing why I’m doing each exercise instead of copying along without understanding it. After a few weeks, my kicks feel smoother, I can kick very noticeably higher and I recover much better between sessions.

And a surprise plus, is that I’m much more confident than in class. I’m no longer worrying about whether my body can produce the techniques coach is asking for. I can focus on learning.

If you’re new to striking and want to move better from the start, this is one of the best investments you can make.

You get a lot of value for your time and investment.

In the first ten weeks I drastically…

In the first ten weeks I drastically improved my flexibility thanks to Richard’s program. It’s really helped my movement in Brazilian jiu jitsu. I am really eager to move on to the next phases of the program to unlock my flexibility further and take my bjj to the next level.

This program is a must for all combat…

This program is a must for all combat sports athletes and martial artists. At a very reasonable price, the cost/benefit analysis discussion is perfect. I have never been able to kick and move like I can now. Thank you, Rich!

MFF has been an incredible experience

MFF has been an incredible experience. I started the program because I wanted to improve my kicks while doing karate. My mobility has improved significantly and the kicks feel more natural, but that is not the impressive part. Richard has been incredible and very supportive through out the process. I have gained mobility but also a new friend in Richard even though we have never met in person.

Achieved headkick in 1 month

I’ve been doing the MFF program for 10 minutes a day before each Muay Thai session at Hong Thong Muay Thai in Chiang Mai.

In a month, I’ve unlocked head kicks and felt my general mobility improve.

Thank you, brother. It’s been brilliant watching your progress. Unlocking head kicks in a month with short sessions before training is exactly what the programme is designed for. Keep it going.

Measurable gains, even at 63 years old

I came to MFF looking for a way to improve my sparring in Savate, a French style that is basically kickboxing with your shoes on.

I have done plenty of yoga-based stretching to improve my flexibility, but don’t always have the corresponding strength to give me the active range I need. And at 63, I need all the help I can get to keep up with the youngsters.

Course creator Richard Trovatten comes from a Muay Thai background, but I think his programme is a good fit for most of the striking arts. Mobility for Fighters does just what it says on the tin: with sets of 10-minute routines rotating two sets of five exercises, it improves not just your passive but active stretching range.

I chose to buy all three programmes currently available: the roundhouse, the teep (front kick) and the leanback. I took the initial measurements of my range as Richard shows in the tutorials, then started rotating through all three, twice a week.

Six weeks on, I was more than happy with the results, with more than 10-percent improvements in the relevant ranges on all three courses. (It was actually probably more, as I think I messed up my initial measurements.)

Now, I’m working through my second six-week cycle — just once a week for each course now — focussing on better form and adding weights for more intensity on some isometric holds.

Richard cites the research his programme is based on and provides detailed tutorials for each of the exercises. The follow-along videos make it easy to do the programme. Once you are familiar with the routines however, there is nothing to stop you training without them. Indeed, sometimes it might work better.

My one quibble with the follow-along videos is that in the warm-downs it’s sometimes hard to switch from one pose to the next without losing too much time. But once you know how many reps and/or breaths you normally take for any given exercise, it’s easy to go at your own pace.

This is a great programme and one that is easier to repeat for continued benefits. Highly recommended.

Thank you, Jonny. I really appreciate such a detailed review. It’s great to hear the combination of flexibility and end-range strength has translated into measurable improvements, especially while fitting around your Savate training. Thanks as well for the thoughtful feedback on the follow-along videos. I’ll keep working to improve the experience for everyone. Wishing you the best with your next training cycle.

I have allways been stiff

I have allways been stiff. Have done before this MFF program few others and of course searching the holy grail from youtube. I dont say that the others hasnt improved anything, but head height those methods didnt give for me.

I noticed difference in height already at two and a half weeks doing this program!
This stuff works. Clear instructions in videos and also in text form. And progress tracker is easy to use.
Richard answering questions if needed etc.

So after 6 weeks my roundhouse has improved overall 28%! And can get to head hight. It isnt pretty yet and there is still work to do but i have noticed it getting better all the time. So the program did what it promised!

Highly recommend this

The best Mobilty Program for Fighters!

From the very beginning, Richard was incredibly helpful, and the community he created always pushed me in the right direction. His tutorials are easy to understand, easy to digest, and simple to implement.

Throughout the program, Richard was always available to answer questions and was open-minded when it came to making individual adjustments. I ended up trying all three of his programs: the Roundhouse Program, the Teep to the Face Program, and the Lean Back Program.

I saw improvements in every area.

Throughout my journey to becoming the best martial artist I can be, I constantly struggled with back issues. After hard sparring sessions, I would often feel stiff, as if my back couldn’t handle the pressure anymore. Since going through the program, those issues have completely disappeared.

My teeps became noticeably more powerful, and I was finally able to land head kicks in sparring, which unlocked a whole new version of my game and gave me much more confidence.

I can’t recommend Richard’s MFF Program and his expertise enough. Not only does he possess tremendous knowledge, but he genuinely cares about helping people improve. Anyone looking to take their mobility, kicking ability, and overall martial arts performance to the next level should definitely consider working with him.
