Disappointing eSIM experience — poor signal and unreliable data
I bought the eSimGo 999GB 30-day 5G plan through MobiMatter, expecting reliable 5G coverage, especially because I was mainly using it in downtown Edinburgh where the signal should normally be strong. Unfortunately, the service was mostly 4G most of the time, and the connection was often unreliable.
Indoors, the signal was very poor. Many times my phone showed 4G or 5G, but I still could not actually connect to the internet or use data. When I contacted support, they suggested changing the APN and resetting my network settings. I was not comfortable resetting my network settings, especially because I have used other eSIMs before without any similar issues.
The problem seems to be with the service provider rather than my phone. The experience became even worse when I went to the Highlands, where there was no service most of the time.
Overall, this was a frustrating experience and the product felt misleading compared with what was advertised. I would not recommend this eSIM. It is better to spend money on another provider or eSIM company with more reliable coverage.
