Buyer beware: a clever scam!

Buyer beware: Shapeways.Com and Modibot.Com have quite a clever scam!
I ordered an item because 3D printing sounded cool. I received the item but had a problem with it. I contacted Shapeways. They told me I had to contact the designer (Modibot) directly, so I did. Modibot agreed to refund my money BUT Modibot does not have the ability to process the refund; the sale was made through Shapeways. Shapeways stated that Modibot must PERSONALLY refund the money to me; Shapeways does NOT do refunds. Clever, huh?!?! Shapeways sent me to Modibot and Modibot sent me back to Shapeways, an endless loop going nowhere.
The moral of this story: if you order from Shapeways OR Modibot make sure you can afford to throw that money away. If you have a problem with the order, it is your loss.
