Car wasn't delivered to destination. I am a snowbird from Illinois. I go to Florida for the winter and have my car shipped back and forth each year. This spring, I paid a lot extra (and had to pay in full upfront) to have a "guaranteed" pickup from Florida to Illinois on April 20. The car was picked up on the 20th and dumped at a towing lot in Atlanta. I was not informed about this change until I called after the car had already been picked up. I was told that the original driver cancelled at the last minute but they were able to find another driver to pick up the car. But, that driver was only going as far as Atlanta. 2 days later, the car was still sitting in the tow lot despite their assurances that they'll have a driver "any minute" to take the car the rest of the way .
I finally just called another broker who literally picked up the car within 1/2 hour. They said they saw my car "on the boards" but Montway was not offering enough money to have anyone pick it up. I called Montway and cancelled. They said they "held up their end of the contract by picking up the car on time". They threatened me with cancellation fees, storage fees, etc... Good luck with that.
I filed a dispute with my credit card company who gave me a temporary credit. Montway sent me a nasty email and gave me a small partial credit (to cover unspecified fees, etc.) Nope.
I ended up winning the dispute since obviously delivery is 1/2 of the contract.
I will not use Montway again. Unfortunately, all these shipping companies are pretty shady and bad. You're lucky if everything works out.

I was very disappointed with both the service and the communication at every stage of this shipping experience. The carrier company that Montway used was unprofessional and overall provided a terrible experience. Although I was told that I'd be notified when my car was picked up, and called a day in advance to schedule delivery, I never once was contacted either by Montway or the carrier at any step of the process. I had to reach out numerous times for the smallest bits of information, and even that was often inaccurate. After trying to contact the carrier and Montway numerous times, I finally found out yesterday morning that my car was being delivered that same afternoon, which led to a mad scramble to try to have the funds available as it was “cash on delivery” and the only acceptable payment options were cash, Zelle, or Venmo. However, when the driver arrived, his Venmo account had been disabled so even that wasn’t an option — which resulted in a very unprofessional confrontation with the delivery driver.
Even now, with the car has in my possession since yesterday, the order status at Montway still says the car hasn't been picked up from dealership.
The happy ending here is that my car arrived on time, which also means I will no longer have to deal with Montway or their carrier any longer.

Montway lied about guarantee pickup and when partial refund to cover storage fees that accrued for the extra week that vehicle sat supervisor said they would contact me then I was never able to get back in contact with supervisor and I was ignored.

This was the most frustrating experience with an auto transport company. We contracted with this company May 10th and my car arrived from Syracuse to Houston on May 26th. The pickup was delayed 7 days, the delivery once the car was picked up took 6 days. The company kept promising to deliver over the holiday weekend and we couldn’t make plans only for the car to arrive on the following Wednesday. No cost adjustment after deposit was paid and cash due in delivery. Excuses included truck broken down, storms and tornadoes. Montway contracts with other carriers and can’t deliver an acceptable process.

They over-promise and under-deliver. They will chat with you 24/7 but can never get a truck to pickup a car, despite charging me $3000. Every time I contact them, “they will escalate it.” Their customer service is a joke.

Worst company I’ve ever worked with. Took them three weeks to even ship my truck. And after three weeks I still don’t have it and no one from Montway can tell me who has my truck or where my truck is! A shipping company can not locate a customers truck? Yes you heard that right. They forget who you are once you over pay them and no one keeps you updated. Go with any other company but Montway. Worst worst worst experience of my life.

The company failed to secure a hauler for me after multiple weeks of waiting. Eventually I had to cancel. It’s been over a month, and I still have not received my refund, despite being assured multiple times that the money was/is on its way.

On short notice they set up and performed a very smooth pickup, transport and delivery. Glad I switched to them.

After being burned by another broker who overpromised, upsold me twice, and never sent a real carrier, Montway Auto Transport was a breath of fresh air. Their communication was clear, consistent, and transparent from the start.
Montway assigned a legitimate carrier (UNITED IMPORT & EXPORT LLC) with a real driver, real contact numbers, and real updates. Pickup and delivery happened exactly as they said, and the entire process was smooth and stress‑free.
Montway earned my trust by doing what the other company couldn’t:
communicate honestly, assign a real carrier, and get my vehicle delivered safely.
Highly recommend Montway for anyone who wants a professional, no‑nonsense transport experience.

I chose Montway because of their reputation and paid extra for enclosed transport and guaranteed pickup for my brand new 2025 Lexus NX 350h. Unfortunately, the experience after pickup was extremely disappointing and stressful.
While the vehicle was initially picked up on the guaranteed date, I later learned the transport was split between two different enclosed carriers with a storage/towing facility stop in Georgia in between. My car ended up sitting outside on an open dirt lot for two days, completely exposed and not protected under any enclosure. This was very frustrating considering I specifically paid a premium for enclosed shipping to better protect a brand new vehicle.
The biggest issue was that my car was ultimately delivered to Florida with a completely flat front tire and a broken valve stem, requiring a full tire replacement costing over $500. I have photos from the original pickup showing the tire in good condition. The second carrier also documented the tire as already damaged when they received the vehicle in Georgia. However, the first carrier’s delivery photos do not clearly show the condition of the tire at transfer, creating a major gap in documentation and accountability.
Trying to resolve this has been exhausting. Montway repeatedly emphasized that they are “only the broker” and have been largely unhelpful in assisting with the claim process between carriers. Instead of helping facilitate a resolution, I’ve had to independently chase down Bills of Lading, photos, insurance information, and determine where liability falls between the carrier and storage facility.
I understand delays and logistics issues can happen in auto transport, but for a premium enclosed shipment involving a brand new luxury vehicle, I expected significantly better communication, handling, and accountability.
Positives:
Pickup was on time
Both carriers technically used enclosed trailers during transport
Negatives:
Vehicle stored outside on dirt lot for multiple days
Damage discovered at delivery
Poor documentation at carrier transfer
Extremely frustrating claims process
Little broker assistance when issues arose
I would strongly recommend future customers ask detailed questions about transfer/storage procedures between carriers and thoroughly document every inch of their vehicle with photos before transport.

Montway was unable to find a carrier within 6 days of the preferred pickup date so I cancelled. Even though I was forced to agree to a $500 increase they could not find a carrier. I had to make other plans at the last minute and the Montway experience was miserable, waiting on hold waiting and waiting and waiting. I would never consider using this company ever again. If I could I would rate them -5 star, they do not deserve 1 star

To start, the pick up driver was 2.5 hrs late for pick up. They find the most dodgy driver they can find. Driver picked up my vehicle on the 19May2026. All of a sudden I get an update that the vehicle was loaded 22May2026.(but it’s was loaded on the 19th) What’s happening with my vehicle. They sat my vehicle in some unknown store called GHub. Still don’t know if that a reputable place. They never mentioned my car being put in storage. I was under the impression that my vehicle would arrive to its destination with in 3-5 days because of the amount I paid. So now instead of 3-5 days ( what I paid for) it’s has now turned into 7 days. Also Montway is a broker. These guys look for the lowest bidder. If you have a nice vehicle, please do not use this company. The organization and communication is terrible. The companies call center is located in Romania or somewhere in that region. Everything about this company is shady. I should’ve known better when he unloaded a Nissan Murano in my drive way in order to put mine on. Please look elsewhere if you have anything substantial.

They said most of our pick ups is between 1 and 3 days and now the pick up is 7 days out. If they cannot, they should say they cannot and cancel the order.

0 stars if I could give them.
We booked auto transport with Montway back in March for a quoted price of $1,069 for our 2017 Subaru Crosstrek from Texas to California. We planned our entire cross-country move around this reservation and pickup window. Then, during the actual pickup week, the price suddenly increased to $1,309 — over $240 higher than the confirmed quote we originally agreed to.
To make matters worse, the company changed the payment structure and began discussing COD balances and additional charges that were never clearly communicated at booking. We spent hours trying to get straight answers from customer service, and every conversation felt inconsistent. One representative would say one thing, another would say something different. We repeatedly had to explain the same situation over and over.
The most frustrating part was the complete lack of urgency and transparency. We were on the final day of our pickup window with no assigned carrier, no timeline, and no meaningful updates. We explained multiple times that we had no backup transportation plan and were relocating states with our family, yet we kept receiving vague scripted responses like ‘we are working on it’ and ‘we hope to have an update soon.’
Customer service acknowledged they had not even charged the deposit yet because no carrier had been assigned, despite us being told throughout the process that things were moving forward. We asked reasonable questions about refunds, timing, and pricing changes and never received clear accountability or solutions.
Moving across the country is stressful enough without a transport company adding uncertainty, last-minute price increases, and poor communication. We chose this company because of their reputation, but our experience has been incredibly disappointing and unreliable.
I would strongly caution anyone considering using this company — especially if you are depending on them during a time-sensitive move.

Bait and switch the entire way. Got a quote from them that we wanted to proceed with, only to be told that the price needs to increase $90 for insurance and that once we get the email with the new (higher) price, we need to reply with "accept." We never did this last step and decided to proceed in with a different hauler. Lo and behold nearly 2 weeks after this higher price (and not accepted) quoted email, I get a notification that Montway has dispatched our order and charged our credit card the full (higher) quoted amount!!! Never once did we provide them our acceptance of this higher amount or authorize the order to proceed. As it was, the car was no longer available to be shipped. Thankfully we were able to get a refund from Montway. Still had to pay the $250 cancellation fee but I would rather that then owe them over $2k for an order that we did not authorize. If that cancellation fee means we never have to deal with them again, I'll take it.

I just had my car shipped from California to Tennessee. My experience with Montway Auto Transport was top notch. Reasonable price. UB Transportation was used for the actual transport. They picked up early and delivered early. Great communication. No complaints. 5 stars. :)
