Poor company ethos / poor customer relations

Poor company ethos - a brand new trolley jack purchased through Motamec had a poor finish and damage in places. I knew that I opened the parcel months after purchase (my own mistake for not getting around to opening it), and as such I wasn't after a replacement, I just wanted to make Motamec aware of the state of my jack, so that they could look into it in case of a quality control issue somewhere in the supply/manufacturing of the jacks. I'd be very grateful of a customer making me aware and taking the time to take photos and email me about such an experience. Despite this I was spoken to in an accusing manner, implying i'd taken photos after use of the jack, which is of absolutely no benefit to me whatsoever. My emails weren't well received, the contents and points made were ignored repeatedly with replies just stating "all damages need to be reported within 14 days" over and over - the very fact this kept getting repeated meant they weren't reading my emails properly in the first place. As this experience rubbed me up the wrong way, as I felt whoever I was dealing with was letting the company's good reputation down, I also filled in their customer feedback form on the footer of the email - this was done weeks ago now and have received no response to that either. My takeaway from this experience is they would rather cover their ears if the news is bad, and aren't that bothered about upholding high standards - this is a poor culture to have in a company and I expect better.

All in all I found the experience very disappointing. What was quite an innocent and well-intended email turned into not a very pleasant experience.
