Absolutely fantastic fit out for chip shop unfortunately, I didn't notice that it doesn't sell pork sausages. It was a mixture of chicken and all sorts of meats which is not a proper chip shop. I wou... See more

Zero stars regarding Mother Hubbard on Leeds Road in Bradford regarding the attitude of the female assistant looking down on myself regarding Recruitment
I went in to find out there was any working going as currently not working.
This female assistant called me love very belittling. Not only that had her left hand in a black surgical glove the right hand was out any glove on.
"We" she made out that my circumstances were the same as her with Children and would I be able to fo the hours.
She had no right to make an assumptions regarding my personal circumstances she was very rude and out of order. She had contacted her manager as this place is part of a franchise. She made out as I live in Leeds that I wouldn't be able to get there however the other places that are part of the franchise are in different parts of Bradford
She used her glove to type on her mobile phone. I'm not been funny but that isn't very hygienic if she was using that glove for food.
Mother Hubbards dundee
Mother Hubbards dundee. Excellent crispy fish and good chips and you cans eat in , in their dining room. Even better of they sold black pudding too as this is Scotland.
Just had mother Hubbard food in…
Just had mother Hubbard food in Coventry it was like the chips were 6 days old. Honestly do people think we have money to waste. You pay so much and at least foid should be fresh.
Rubbish
Don’t order delivery from mother h thru just eats
Delivery time was put back and back and back
Tried to ring several times and told many excuses the last being going to take 2 hours
Won’t try again
Goodbye Mother Hubbards
I have used Mother Hubbard's in Baildon weekly for the past couple of years. I have put up with the soggy chips because of the quality of the fish.
Last week I found the price had gone up by nearly a pound for the second time this year. It just is not worth it. I can get better fish and chips at the pub down the road for less.
I will not be returning.

Can only comment on our local one which is Burton-On-Trent. Used them 4 times I think. If I was a bit more flush I'd definitely use them a lot more though.
I personally love the munchbox for the variety you get in the box & very good portion.
We have had the XXXL fish & chips & it fed 4 of us & most recently the mini fish & chips offer. Always been really nice. Fresh fish & batter. Chips are excellent.
Not eaten in yet, but I imagine if the deliveries are good, it's even better fresh out the fryer.
Overpriced, Bland, and Not Spicy at All
Came for the spicy fish, but it was completely bland , the batter looked fiery but had zero kick. Paid £12.99 for the fish and another £2.95 for chips, which is ridiculously overpriced for such average food. Taste doesn’t match the price, and I won’t be coming back.
Outstanding service under pressure
I would just like to praise a young lad who assisted us at Mother Hubbard's. The shop was extremely busy and full, yet this young man showed great leadership skills by remaining calm and dealing professionally with some angry and impatient customers. As a business owner myself, it was impressive to watch him take charge and assist customers, turning what could have been a negative experience into a positive one through his efficiency and composure.
Well done lad, you have a bright future ahead of you. Sorry I did not get you name.
Wakefield branch
Wakefield branch. Absolutely disgusting food. It looked like fish and chips but tasted awful. Do not recommend. Go to a proper fish and chips shop instead.
Very Good
Had a Fish and Chip meal with Curry sauce and a Tea at the Huddersfield branch. Freshly cooked fish. Great meal and would recommend this branch all day long. Friendly Staff and quick Table Service.
Stone cold food
Stone cold food. Chips arrived at 22 degrees, fish at 42 degrees. Absolutely vile.
Poor all round
First and probably last visit to mother Hubbards Bury. The staff were disinterested. Ordering via machine was confusing. The food was average. The seating area was very cold, when I asked why it was so cold the answer was the heating was switched off as people left the door open! Cold seating area equals cold food. Won’t be back.

The fish was lovely the batter was again lovely but the oil it was cooked in was revolting. It left a terrible taste in your mouth. What a shame if they could use a better oil it would have been great.
One trip 1 delivery from Mother Hubbsrds
Visited Mother Hubbards gor first time ate in excellant food generous portiins friendly staff. Then had a delivery yesterday. Brilliant really well packed in inividual boxes including chocolate sponge and sticky toffee pudding. Food still hot. The puddings were still watm after eating meal with generous helping of custard. Far better than McDonalds that I suspect is cold before it leaves the store!!
Chips were great and the fish was ok
Chips were great and the fish was ok. Batter was soggy. Had a crispy inch at one end. Won’t go again.
Out of control children running around and screaming.
The food was adequate, but much better fish and chops are available locally. However, while I was waiting a family allowed their children to run around completely out of control, screaming and shouting. The parents and staff members seemed to encourage such appalling behaviour. I will definitely not go again.
Overall, average and disappointing
First time trying the newly opened Mother Hubbard fish & chip shop, Shirley - Southampton.
One word to describe it…. ‘Average’.
I asked the friendly lad at the counter for a pea fritter and small chips. He didn’t know what a pea fritter was, then explained it’s not on the menu.
I ended up ordering 4x jalapeño cheese bites, small chips and small mushy peas. Cost approx £8.
The jalapeño bites were disappointing, dry, no filling, not much flavour. Chips were ok - not hot or crispy. Mushy peas were ok.
Staff seemed to be bickering between themselves which set an uncomfortable atmosphere, which was a shame, especially as the lad taking orders was being helpful and friendly.
Overall experience was average and ok. I’ll probably not be going back in a hurry.
Mother Hubbard's in Worcester
Mother Hubbard's in Worcester. Staff always willing and helpful. Andy's Special fish and chips have traditional batter and are the best for miles around. Highly recommended!
No regard for health and safety
ve used this take away several times because it is conveniently situated near the taxi rank, but im fed up of the service here. Last night was the final straw. Ive often had to speak up at the counter where the till is because staff try to charge a lot more than the cost my order. It happened again last night on the 24th january. Im not even talking about just a few pound extra. They tried to overcharge me by £24. I think they rely on the fact that on a Saturday night at 9pm most of their customers might be a little less vigilant. Then we i actually got my order, it was wrong, not even remotely like the food i ordered.I had to throw it away because they served me a vegable pizza, (i asked for a Donna, there was no Donna in sight) I have an extremely severe food allergiies , my food was full of the food I was allergic to. I couldn't really check the food at the counter because you wrap it all up then hand over the bag of food. Who is responsible for health & safety? I need to know and this needs to be looked into seriously. You are serving food to the public, they must be some accountabily here. This could have easily been a medical emergency. It was only because my husband took a piece, it was noticed that this was not what we asked for. If I had eaten a peice of green pepper which you served me a could have gone into alphagesic shock. This is serious, but this isn't the first time . Much more care is needed when you are preparing good. That is one point. Aswell as this, is the insult of trying to rip customers off. I know we've all got a living to make and sometimes money is scarse, but this includes your customers money too. I dont live in in Barnsley, and we didnt eat in. You charged us a lot more than we owed. We dont expect to get ripped off. Like I said, we are all trying to make money stretch.
I need a response and reply to this please.
