Motivate MD Reviews 

I worked with Motivate MD during this match season and successfully matched into Psychiatry. Status IMG.

I’m giving them 4 out of 5 stars. They provided excellent support with application editing and personal statement (PS) development. Their team includes amazing physician-resident editors who clearly know what they’re doing, and the quality of feedback was very strong. They also offer interview preparation, which is helpful.

However, the main downside was the lack of follow-up. After completing the main application process, there was no check-in regarding how many interviews I received, whether I matched, or how things were progressing overall. Because of this, there was no guidance or preparation for unexpected situations like SOAP.

I personally had only one interview and was fortunate to match, but I truly believe that was by God’s grace. If I hadn’t matched, there would have been no support or preparation for SOAP at all, which is a critical part of the process.

Overall, they provide strong editing and interview prep services, but improved follow-up and continued support especially around SOAP—would make their service significantly better.

Bridget and Riya were both so helpful! Beyond helping me with grammar and phrasing, they gave me so much detailed feedback on my essays, including tips on how to approach the prompt, and communicate my story to the reader! Definitely would recommend!

I got really great advice from the tutors, they had wonderful professionalism. They also had amazing availability. I would have appreciated being able to schedule all three mock interviews in one response. I was a little put off by writing all of my info into a google form.

All those who helped me meticulously reviewed my work and provided valuable feedback. Some even went a step further by offering important questions to reflect on and reassurance during difficult moments. I also found the Motivate MD Support Team to be exceptionally kind and responsive. Compared to other advising services, I would definitely recommend Motivate MD.

I like how we were able to thoroughly go through answers that I practiced beforehand. The interviewer’s feedback was very valuable in helping me understand how to ace my interview. I wish I was given a bit more feedback in any weak spots because the feedback was overall more positive. But overall thank you motivate MD!

MotivateMD is awesome! I received help from the team throughout the season (PS, secondaries, mock interviews and update letters!) and was able to secure acceptance & interviews from some of my favorite medical schools because of them. I was able to work broadly with almost everyone on the team, while also finding mentors I appreciate + are willing to stand by my side throughout the season. I still remember how stressed I was when I first started & how happy I feel right now because of their help. The team is a true treasure and I cannot recommend them enough!

I used their interview prep service and it was incredibly helpful for my dental school interview. The associate who interviewed me was very kind and gave fantastic feedback on how I could improve my answers to tough questions. After my mock interview session was finished, they emailed me a summary write-up of our session so I could review all that we went over.

Expected quality of interview prep, albeit slightly overpriced for what it's worth. Listed as giving an interview scoring rubric but did not receive one after contacting them. However, the interviewer provided great feedback that was applicable to refine my interview skills for that specific school and others in general, where I ultimately got accepted.

Tara and Riya gave great feedback! They both gave me detailed positive feedback while still offering nice constructive improvements.

Motivate MD was incredibly helpful during my residency application! I used their residency package for ERAS editing and a mock interview. The feedback was detailed and personalized, and even though my interviewer wasn’t from my exact specialty, they tailored the session and advice perfectly. I felt much more confident going into my interviews and I highly recommend!!

Overall, im disappointed. I was expecting significantly more guidance and support. The package was extremely expensive for the product.

I don’t know what I’m doing. When I asked for the personal statement to be reviewed by admissions experienced advisor, it did not happen. I received grammar / sentence restructuring edits; I was expecting much more in depth edits to make my PS brilliant. I’m happy with it I guess, but when I asked my MD friend to critique it, he had much better critiques. For instance, he would suggest adding an experience to support this claim, or how it ties specifically to Md / DO etc, saying this sounded contrived.

I was bemused with the technicality of the package. AAMCOMAS requires primaries to be sent in order to receive secondaries. AMCAS secondaries usually involve writing essays. AACOMAS primaries occasionally required essays. However, these primary essays don’t count in the primary package I purchased, despite it being a primary. I am grateful someone glanced over my ‘secondary’ for 30 seconds.

Overall, I wouldn’t be so disappointed if the package wasn’t so expensive. Cost doesn’t represent equal value.

Everyone at Motivate MD has been so helpful throughout the application process. I was able to have my primary and secondaries reviewed by the team, and also a thorough mock interview. All my reviews were always returned in a timely fashion. I got accepted into one of my top medical school choices. With the huge amount of time and work it takes to complete all parts of the application, the support I received from Motivate MD was totally worth it. I couldn't have done it without them!

Timely help, effective feedback, helping with brainstorm and crafting personal statement , interview mock session, one on one advising, the service justly offers what is included in package and the staff members McKenzie and Becca and all amazing physicians in the team ensure that they go above and beyond in helping their students achieve success in their journey!
