My Rab 250 Quantim Endurance bag was not lofting properly and not keeping me warm. Called David and he tells me “no problem, heard that a thousand times before. Send it to us, we’ll clean it and send it back as good as new”. Sent it on a Monday, David called me on Weds, said all done and it’s way back. Got it today one calendar week after sending it and it is as David said “as good as new”. Totally outstanding service. Well done David!!

I had a Mountain Equipment 'Dragon' bag that must be 40+ years old. I lent it to my son and his friend managed to be ill all over it! Sent it to Mountaineering Designs for cleaning and within a week it was back with me and as good as new. But I can't remember what it was like 40+ years ago - but if I were to guess, it is at least as good as new.

We have been sending the same sleeping bags to Mountaineering Designs for cleaning and repairs every year for the last ten years. Always good to get our kit back as if it were new. Thank you for your ongoing excellent service!

Mountaineering Designs deep cleaned my husband’s Mountain Equipment Classic 750 Sleeping Bag. What they achieved was nothing short of a miracle……I’d have gladly burnt it, it was a complete disgrace (and very likely had an ecosystem of its own). It literally came back looking new. It’ll be going back for regular cleans from now on - certainly more frequently than once every 27 years. Amazing service and expertise!

This is an organisation that do a great job, gives very good advice and have the ability to bring what ever down kit I send to them back to life as if it was new!
My last bag i sent to them was a light weight summer bag that I spend a lot of time in on cycle trips. It was flat dirty and IMO coming to the end of its useful days. I sent it up to them and just over a week later it is back and looking like new, ready to hit the road again.
I would just like to say a big thank you and I would recommend anyone to send there kit to them for whatever needs doing.

Have inflicted my reeking PHD sleeping bags twice now on Dave & Co - a Hispar 400 950-down and a Minim K 1000-down. They've been returned "better than when I bought them", and in super-quick time. Dave's obviously an expert at what he does and also seems happy for a chat on the phone too, which is very very nice in this day-and-email-only-age and means a lot to this customer at least. I naughtily sneaked a down hat into my parcel which Dave either a/ didn't notice or b/ was nice enough to include in the cleaning anyway..... Send your gear to him, you won't be disappointed.

( PS. Clue: the answer to the quiz question is not "a/"......:-) )

Fantastic! So helpful. Very accommodating and my jacket looks, smells and feels better than new. It's amazing how much improved its insulation / thermal properties are now - I'd forgotten just how warm the jacket could make me.

Money well spent.

Two over twenty year old Mountain Equipment Lightline sleeping bags have escaped the landfill by being cleaned by MD. Individual and expert service are still available! Fast turn around and good communication are benchmarks for this company. I would strongly recommend this service to all my colleagues in the outdoor industry. No need to buy new!; refurbish!

I sent an old & battered sleeping bag over to Mountaineering Designs which arrived in time for Friday morning & by Sunday evening I had a phone call from the MD to say that the bag was washed & ready to go! I was even talked out of topping up the down as it had washed so well, even though I had been prepared to pay for it.
If you are considering retiring your old down sleeping bag for a new one give these guys a try first - you might just save yourself a small fortune & get you favourite gear back good as new!
